Martial Arts Worlds-Chapter 269: Slap Fight
"Uh, coach, shouldn't you stop this?"
Mateo of Montclair High said as he looked at what was currently happening in the ring.
"Why should I?"
Alabaster asked coldly.
He didn't look pissed off, as he even had a small smirk playing on his lips. This didn't seem like a bad thing to him.
'In the end, it doesn't matter what kind of person Zachary is to the public. It doesn't matter if he is the villain. The greedy government desires success, and that's why they'll only send the strongest over to the Junior Martial Arts Championship.
'If Zachary defeats… destroys the golden boy of New Rakuya, Kiernan, in front of the entire nation, they have no choice but to recognize Zachary as the champion of the junior division.
'I wanted them to meet in the finals at first, as that will have most eyes watching, but this is fine too. An incident like this will go viral.
'If Zachary destroys him like an ant, millions of eye pairs will see it, and Zachary will be recognized as the strongest!'
In the audience, thousands of people had already pulled out their phones and were recording it all with smiles on their faces.
They knew that this video would go viral on social media, and it wouldn't even take an hour for it to flood the internet like a tidal wave.
"This is bad, isn't it?"
Karma's friends asked him with serious looks.
"Yeah… won't both Kiernan and Zachary get disqualified from the tournament if they fight outside the official matches?"
"I… don't know."
Karma's eyes shook, but he could tell that his son wasn't planning to back down.
In one of the VIP rooms, Azer called for Coach Jin, and after he answered, he shouted in anger.
"Go stop Kiernan right away!"
"E-eh, why? What's wrong?"

Coach Jin's confused voice came from the other end of the call. He had no idea what was happening.
"He is about to fight Zachary outside official match! If he throws a single punch, he'll get kicked out of the tournament!"
"A-ah, shit!"
Coach Jin shouted, and the phone call quickly disconnected as they didn't have any time to share a lengthy phone conversation.
Azer looked out of the window with a dark look. He wished with his entire being that Kiernan wasn't foolish enough to throw a punch.
In the ring, Zachary raised his right hand and then slapped it across Kiernan's face with flesh-shattering force.
SMACK!
"Urgh!"
Kiernan's head got snapped to the side, his vision blurring as he stumbled backward. He couldn't keep his balance and fell down on one knee.
It shocked everyone watching!
"Hmph, how weak!"
Zachary said with an ugly laugh.
"Don't fight back!"
Azer screamed from his VIP room, but his shouts didn't seep through the solid window that was specially made to keep out noise from going outside.
"Iron Style, Void Slap!"
Kiernan smashed his open hand at Zachary's right cheek. All five fingers and the palm connected with a resounding thud.
Yet, against all odds, Zachary didn't even flinch and just tanked the slap with a grin on his face. It left behind a red mark in the shape of a handprint.
"Pitiful!"
He shouted loudly for everyone to hear.
"?!"
Kiernan's eyes shook as he didn't expect his slap to be so… uneffective.
"Unbelievable…"
"K-Kiernan is not a match for that muscle monster?"
"What the hell is Zachary made of? He is an absolute unit of an individual!"
"I don't see anyone beating him! It looks like Montclair High will win their first nationals championship!"
The crowd spoke in loud tones.
"Enough!"
At that moment, a booming voice thunderously echoed throughout the stadium.
With the stadium's security following after him, the chairman of the nationals competition walked ahead, an angry look on his face.
The national competition, which should've been the showcase of the nation's young talent, had become quite a mess on the first day.
It all started in the first round, where Zachary hospitalized an entire team. Then, this incident happened. He was far from being happy.
"Kiernan, are you alright?!"
At that same moment, Coach Jin and the rest of Karuza High ran over. When they saw the chairman, their expressions turned ugly.
If he appeared, it meant that someone was in great trouble, as he was a busy man. He was usually in his office, handling the national business, and rarely came down to the arena unless it was something serious.
"I don't want to conduct this business in front of everyone. Kiernan, Zachary, and the coaches of the two teams follow me to my office…"
The chairman said coldly.
"Go back to the locker room…"
Coach Jin said to the other members of Karuza High and then silently followed after the chairman.
With worried looks, they nodded and headed away, but they couldn't help but look in Kiernan's direction for a moment.
He looked serious with a large red handprint on his cheek. It shocked them that he actually looked quite shaken.
It was a look they hadn't gotten used to seeing on his usual confident face.
He was the ace of their school, and nothing ever seemed to faze him, but now, they were seeing a vulnerability they had never seen before.
"Let's go."
Alabaster said to Zachary, and with arms behind his back, he confidently followed after the security guards without any worry on his face.
"Will we get disqualified?"
Zachary asked coldly.
"Haha, no. This was an excellent outcome, in my opinion. The whole internet will be talking about your two's rivalry, and that will bring viewership never before seen in high school nationals.
"This chairman isn't a fool. It is his job to make sure that the viewership is high because of all the sponsors and shareholders. However, he also can't let you two go unpunished…"
"Punishment? Hmph."
Zachary scoffed.
"It won't be anything bad. You'll probably be suspended for the next round."
"Isn't that bad? Will Mateo and Lazaro be able to handle it?"
"I'll make sure that they won't lose. They should be able to handle it, though."
"Hmm…"
Zachary nodded.
"What did you think about Kiernan? How confident are you in winning?"
Alabaster asked.
"Heh, hundred percent. If that slap was the best he can do, there is nothing to worry about."
Zachary said with a confident grin.
"Good…"
Alabaster smirked.
