Martial Arts: I Have a Wilderness World-Chapter 98 - 97: Price Difference! Grinding Points
"Thirty Points," Cheng Zongyang muttered.
He then tried selling the Wolf King’s corpse without the heart.
The price for the body without the heart was 150 Points.
’The Wolf Heart is thirty Points, same as the quest reward?’
Cheng Zongyang gazed at the Wolf King’s heart, lost in thought for a moment.
The next moment, he skinned the Wolf King and tried to sell the hide separately.
[Gray Wolf King Hide, Integrity ≥95%, Purchase Price: 95 Points. Sell?]
"You son of a—!"
Cheng Zongyang barely stopped himself from cursing aloud.
Selling it in pieces was actually worth more!
"Trying to pull a fast one on me, huh?" Cheng Zongyang sneered. The Wolf Hide alone was worth ninety-five Points. Add the heart and the head, and it was already one hundred forty-five.
He refused to believe the other parts were worthless!
Good thing he hadn’t been impulsive and sold it all at once.
"Fine!" Cheng Zongyang snorted, then placed the Wolf King’s corpse—now missing its head, heart, and hide—on the counter to sell.
[Gray Wolf King’s Flesh, Integrity ≤60%, Purchase Price: 60 Points. Sell?]
’This meat really is good stuff.’
Cheng Zongyang was sure of it now.
He’d tried selling things like sika deer before, but the Market Hut didn’t even show a purchase prompt. The fact that this meat could be sold for sixty Points proved the Market Hut considered it a valuable item.
’The head is twenty Points, the heart is thirty, the hide is ninety-five, and the meat is sixty. That’s two hundred and five Points in total! Every part of it is a treasure. What a waste the Black-Horned Python was!’
The Black-Horned Python’s flesh had been poisoned, so the Market Hut wouldn’t buy it.
But by selling it in pieces, he had made an extra twenty-five Points!
Next, Cheng Zongyang sold the Wolf Hide and head, and turned in the quest for the wolf heart’s blood, gaining one hundred forty-five Points.
On the counter, the Wolf Heart now looked as if it had been soaked in water, completely drained of blood.
’Can I still eat this?’ Cheng Zongyang wondered, looking at the heart. He couldn’t help but try to sell it.
[Wolf King’s Heart, Damage ≥98%, Value: 2 Points.]
Cheng Zongyang was speechless.
’Is it really that drastic?’
’Could it be that the heart’s value was entirely in the blood it contained?’
Cheng Zongyang felt like he had discovered a blind spot in the system.
As for the Wolf King’s Flesh, he decided to keep it for now. He wanted to see if eating it would benefit a Martial Artist’s Cultivation. If the benefits weren’t significant, he could always sell it later.
’Healing cost ten Points. Killing the seven gray wolves earned seven Points, and the Wolf King was another twenty. Selling the parts and completing the quest earned me one hundred forty-five Points.’
He glanced at his Points interface.
—Points: 315
Seeing this, Cheng Zongyang didn’t hesitate to buy the Seven Herbs Powder Recipe.
Points -150
—Points: 165
’I can give this recipe to Second Uncle. He can prepare the powder, and then Mom and my aunts can make it into little Purses for everyone to carry. That way, no one will have to worry about snakes or insects in the mountains.’
’I’m still one hundred thirty-five Points short of buying the Lotus Recipe.’
Cheng Zongyang breathed a sigh of relief. As long as he could get something from the stream, it wouldn’t be difficult.
Ignoring the other wolf corpses for now, he tidied up, grabbed one small and two large bamboo baskets and a carrying pole, and hurried toward the stream.
He wanted to see if any fish had been trapped.
Before heading out, he glanced again at the sea, Land, and air purchase prices in the acquisition tab.
—
Trout: 1 Point/each (200)
Salmon: 1 Point/each (200)
Rainbow Trout: 1 Point/each (100)
(Note: Each must have a Weight ≥ 1 kg)
...
—
Cheng Zongyang didn’t bother looking at the creatures that fly in the sky or run on the ground; it would be pointless.
With this information in mind, Cheng Zongyang immediately rushed to the stream.
Of these three types of fish, he had seen salmon before. The other two didn’t ring a bell; he had probably seen them without knowing their names, or heard the names but never seen the fish.
Soon, as Cheng Zongyang ran with his bamboo baskets and carrying pole, he saw a mass of fish thrashing and leaping by the weir in the distance.
The sight made him ecstatic. That was a whole lot of Points!
He quickened his pace, hurrying forward with his baskets.
When he reached the stream, he saw that the wooden and bamboo weir was tilting under the force of the current and the mass of fish.
A huge number of fish were piled up against it, just like when a net is hauled in at a fish farm.
Cheng Zongyang rolled up his pant legs, grabbed a bamboo basket, and waded into the water.
The icy stream made Cheng Zongyang shiver. He then dipped the basket into the water and scooped.
Instantly, the basket was more than half full of vigorous, thrashing fish!
Cheng Zongyang carried the basket ashore as a large amount of water drained out through the gaps.
He set that basket aside, grabbed another, and scooped again. After that, he started using the small basket to scoop the fish and pour them into the two large baskets.
"There are so damn many fish in this stream!" Cheng Zongyang exclaimed in amazement.
In no time, both large baskets were filled to the brim.
For a moment, he suddenly felt the purchase price for fish was quite fair, even if the prices for Land creatures were a bit of a rip-off.
’Looks like this stream can become my ’Point-grinding’ spot!’
With a stable source of Points, he wouldn’t have to constantly worry about earning more.
Cheng Zongyang immediately shouldered the baskets with his carrying pole and headed back to the hut.
Back at the Market Hut, too lazy to sort them, he placed both baskets on the counter one after the other and said:
"Submit."
[22 qualifying Trout detected in the target basket.]
[6 qualifying Salmon detected in the target basket.]
[7 qualifying Rainbow Trout detected in the target basket.]
[Confirm submission of acquisition targets?]
"Confirm."
Cheng Zongyang agreed, a resigned look on his face.
’Were there really that many different types?’
As the transaction completed, thirty-five fish vanished from the two baskets.
Points +35.
Looking at the pile of remaining fish, Cheng Zongyang sighed. He had no choice but to bring in a new, large vat from outside and dump all the leftovers into it.
But at least he now knew what all three types of fish looked like.
Some of the fish hadn’t met the Weight requirement; it wasn’t that there were few of them.
With the addition of a large vat, the Market Hut became even more crowded.
Cheng Zongyang was exasperated, but what could he do? Only the Market Hut had a preservation function.
Perhaps after the next acquisition list refresh, he could sell some of these fish.
Next, he returned to the stream. This time, he specifically picked out the right fish using the small basket.
His mood brightened as he tossed one large, qualifying fish after another into the big basket.
The purchase limit was five hundred fish in total, which meant five hundred Points.
That was more than enough to buy the Lotus Recipe, and he could afford the Solar-Powered Wall Clock too.
Although he was used to telling time by the sun and moon, having a clock would be very nice.
And so, Cheng Zongyang spent the whole afternoon catching fish and releasing fish.
If he didn’t release them, the weir would have been destroyed by the pressure.
This stream truly had an abundance of fish of many different species.
’In the future, once the County Town stabilizes, I can even sell fish there. The wealthy families would surely pay a high price.’
Once the purchase quotas for all three types of fish were met, Cheng Zongyang stopped fishing.
He then bought the Lotus Recipe and the Solar-Powered Wall Clock.
Points -305.
—Points: 365
"Hahaha! This acquisition list is great! I never thought about earning Points by catching fish; I was even thinking of refreshing the list. I hope the purchase quotas are higher next time!"
Cheng Zongyang laughed heartily in the hut. He had easily earned five hundred Points in a single afternoon just by catching fish.
It was far faster than hunting beasts one by one.
Was this a bug in the system?!
Although there were still several types of fish in the stream that he didn’t recognize, he would find out if they were acquisition targets after the next refresh.
He glanced at the wall clock; it was already past 4:40 in the afternoon.
Next, Cheng Zongyang started a fire to brew a medicinal meal and prepare a medicinal bath.
With over three hundred Points on hand, he wanted to test out some more ideas.
He cut the Wolf’s Stomach from the Wolf King’s Flesh, scrubbed it clean, and stuffed the nearly worthless Wolf Heart inside. Then, he began to simmer it slowly with some Ginseng Soup.
Then, while the Medicinal Materials were simmering, he retrieved eight small booklets from the adjacent wooden room.
From the stack, he picked out the one that had been troubling him: the "Basic Saber Technique."
