Silvia grabbed the gun suddenly and started struggling with Henry as they both tried to get the gun from the other.
Henry pulled the trigger but it was fired at the floor.
"Let go you stupid pest," Henry continued to struggle with Silvia for the gun. She raised her knee to hit his groin but he pushed it away with one of his hands.
"Tsk tsk tsk," he responded but Silvia only used her foot again to step on his.
"Argh," he reacted to the pain of the impact, it felt as if his foot was crushed.
He slapped her across the face and she fell, her palms and knees hitting the floor. He pointed the gun at her again and was about to pull the trigger when another gunshot was heard.
Henry’s voice as he groaned in pain was the only sound that was heard. The piercing sounds filled the room as he held his hand and yelped in pain.
John had shot his fingers which made him to let go of the gun. Henry quickly kicked the gun away, his eyes glanced at Silvia.
"I swear Silvia Reyes, you are the most stubborn and relentless woman I have ever met in my entire existence," he said and apprehended Henry, handcuffing his injured hands.
Davian was freed from the chains used to hold him down. An ambulance soon arrived at the scene, Davian was placed on the movable bed and was taken into the ambulance. Silvia went with him, she sat by his side as she held his hands, hoping that he would be alright.
John also called up the Bluewoods district police, so that the suspects both the dead and alive ones would be taken care of till their backup vehicles arrived to transport them to Central City.
The ambulance arrived at Bluewoods general hospital and Davian was immediately attended to by the doctors and nurses on duty as it seemed to be an emergency.
Silvia stood up immediately one of the doctors came out of the room she wasn’t allowed into earlier. Davian was taken into that room.
"How is he doctor? He’s going to be alright, right?" she questioned him.
"I can’t lie to you, madam. His condition is critical, he seems to have sustain multiple wounds from the severe beatings. He also has internal bleedings.
"Luckily, none in his head. He will need to undergo surgery but he has lost so much blood. Plus, we don’t have the facilities to perform the surgery on him," the doctor elaborated.
"What?" Silvia responded.
"T-Then can I transfer him to another hospital which is two hours drive from here?" she inquired, stuttering a little.
"Sure madam. But he needs to be attended to, here first so that he can withstand the journey. For a start, we have stopped the bleedings and has cleaned him up but he will need some blood as he has lost too much-"
"Then take my blood. My blood group is O, so I can donate to him," she interrupted.
"Okay, this way," he replied.
Silvia donated her blood to Davian and after a hour of further treatments, they were transported on one of the hospital’s ambulance after settling the bills, as Davian was being transferred to another hospital, her hospital- White bridge hospital at Central City.
Silvia’s phone buzzed. She had collected her phone and purse from her car before following the ambulance to the hospital. She instructed John to have someone take her car to her house at Central City and handed him the keys.
She checked her phone. It was messages from Sentencia.
~Where are you Silvia? I went to your house earlier after my shift at the hospital to check on you, but you weren’t around. I called Myne up again this evening to see if you were back but she said you weren’t and you’ve been gone for hours.~
~Where the hell are you?! It’s getting late, don’t do anything stupid!~
Silvia simply just smiled, Cia has always been a worrywart. She has always told her to stop worrying or she will get grey hairs first.
Her eyes went to Davian who she was sitting besides in the ambulance vehicle. He was unconscious, he was looking much better after been cleaned up and attended to. She hopes his surgery goes well and he will be fine afterwards.
She decided to text Cia back.
~~Don’t worry about me. We’ve found Davian, I’ll need you to report to the hospital, he needs immediate surgery because of a critical condition a doctor diagnosed him of~~
~~You’ll receive the files of the surgery and Davian’s condition once we get to White bridge, so be there~~
She sent Cia two messages. Her phone buzzed again after few minutes.
~Really? That’s great news~
~Surgery? Is it that bad? Did he sustain severe internal bleedings? Argh...nevermind, I’m on my way to White bridge~
~~Yes. Okay, thank you~~
Silvia responded through text.
...
They arrived at Central City and White bridge hospital. Davian who was still unconscious was taken into the hospital.
"It’s been hours. Where were you? We’ve been waiting for you guys to arrive," Cia said as Davian was being rushed to the theater immediately.
"Bluewoods. And what do you mean ’we’?" Silvia asked.
"Here’s the file on his case," one of the paramedics that had accompanied the ambulance, said as he handed the documents to Cia who went through it immediately.
"Davian?!" Silvia heard Elizabeth’s voice and spotted her soon as she rushed over to her son. Not only her but Becca as well.
So that was what Cia meant by ’we’.
"Davian? What happened to him? Why’s he unconscious...Davian," Mrs Randell panicked. But there was no response as Davian was taken to a room and no one except the doctors and nurses were allowed into the room.
The trio, Silvia, Elizabeth and Becca waited outside. Elizabeth walked closer to Silvia and slapped her. This was the second time Silvia was receiving a slap today. But she understood where Elizabeth was coming from, she was a mother and her child’s life was on the line.
"This is all your fault," Elizabeth said in anger as she cried nonstop.
"You better pray nothing happens to my son, you better pray. Get out of my sight! Get out..." Elizabeth trails off as she sobbed, Becca held her in a comforting embrace but her eyes glared daggers at Silvia.
"It’s okay, Mrs Randell. Calm down, don’t waste your strength on her," Becca said.
Silvia walked meters away from them, her hands on her cheeks as tears rolled down from her eyes. This incident will only worsen Elizabeth’s dislike for her, but why should she care? Why does she care?
"Silvia..." Her mother’s voice trails off as she spotted her daughter in tears. She hugged her immediately.
Janet had rushed down to the hospital immediately she received the call from Silvia.
"Silvia, darling. What happened?" Janet asked but Silvia just cried on. Janet wasn’t used to seeing her daughter like this, because she was rarely like this- This vulnerable.
"I’m so sorry your dad couldn’t make it, he had to take care of something but I’m here, okay?" Janet added and Silvia only nodded.
After several hours, Cia and her team of doctors and nurses finally came out of the operating room. They all went towards her immediately.
"How was it?" Silvia asked.
"How’s my son?" Elizabeth asked.
"He’s alright now, the surgery was successful and he’s out of danger. Luckily, he arrived here just in time for the surgery before the congested blood in his system could have taken any morbid effect," Cia answered and everyone heaved sighs of relief.
"He seemed to have lost too much blood but according to the files I received, Silvia here had donated blood to him and that was why he was strong enough to undergo the surgery.
"There will be no need to put him in intensive care. Though he’s still unconscious, but you guys will be allowed to visit him soon once he’s been moved to a room," Cia explained further and everyone just nodded at her.
After Davian was moved to a room, Elizabeth and Becca were the first to visit him. Silvia and Janet sat on the waiting bench. Cia walked up to them, she was only on her clothes as she was preparing to leave.
"Won’t you see him Silvia?" Cia asked.
Silvia shook her head.
"Why?" Cia asked sitting close to Silvia.
"Because..." Silvia trailed off as she tried as much as possible not to choke on the lump in her throat.
"Because I’m afraid. I’m afraid that if he wakes up he wouldn’t want to see me too just like his mother because this was all my fault," Silvia said.
"Silvia, sweetie. Don’t say that. I understand Elizabeth must be angry but this isn’t your fault and Davian would understand it if he truly loves you," Janet responded but Silvia shook her head.
"Stop thinking that way Silvia. I’m sure he will feel worse if you don’t see him," Cia said. She stood up and held Silvia’s hand.
"C’mon, let’s see him before you go," Cia continued.
’But Elizabeth and Becca were still in there with him,’ Silvia thought. What if they don’t let her see him?
"Okay," Silvia replied and stood up.
"I’ll see him as well before I go back home," Janet stood up as well, partly because she wanted to protect her daughter if a cat fight arises.
Silvia nodded at her and so they walked towards the room Davian was.
Silvia sighed preparing herself for what might happen as Cia opened the door.
