Married To The Last Ice Dragon-Chapter 88: Dragos not Adrelean
It was becoming clear that Cyrus and Stefan were at odds, and it was clear that Stefan despised Cyrus because of Sage.
But why?
Sage didn’t know why she was so calm; she wanted to scream at Cyrus for not telling her that Stefan was her brother, but screaming would do nothing, especially since she had already discovered the truth.
She could tell he was familiar the first time they spoke... Didn’t she?
It was absolutely terrifying! She was Sage Adrelean, and she was from Anitca, Elisium, obviously a mage born of a fire dragon and a wind mage.
"Yo.. you!" Sage snapped out of her thoughts when she noticed Cyrus holding her brother by the neck and lifting him off the ground.
"Cyrus!" With a gasp, she called out.
Cyrus glared at her, furious. "You are not Sage Adrelean! You are Sage Dragos!" He snapped.
Sage couldn’t believe her ears! Was he reading her mind?
Actually, she liked the name Sage Dragos; it gave her goosebumps and made her smile.
Cyrus’ face softened as he noticed his parrot smiling. He let go of Stefan’s neck, and Stefan stumbled to his feet. He rubbed his neck, gasping for air, and snapped his gaze at Cyrus, who was lost in staring at Sage, and Sage, who was smiling and avoiding Cyrus’ gaze.
It was both shocking and shameless!
"Dragos," Stefan grumbled angrily and Cyrus simply glared at him before returning a soft gaze to Sage.
Sage immediately stopped smiling and turned her gaze to Stefan.
She cleared her throat as her thoughts and Cyrus distracted her from her original focus.
"Tell me everything. I want to hear from you and not Cyrus." She spoke in a firm tone.
"Mother vanished with you after a heated argument with your father nineteen years ago. She managed to put her father to sleep, and I am sure she lost most of her powers as a result." Stefan began. "After searching Antica for you two for several weeks, I decided to meet his majesty." The way he said "his majesty." Was with complete distaste, and Cyrus was unaffected; he simply looked uninterested.
"I told his Majesty everything I knew about my mother. She was a wind mage, a powerful warrior who was exiled because she fell in love with Lord Rares, the lord of Elisium..." Sage’s eyes widened with curiosity as Stefan cleared his throat and sniffed.
"His Majesty informed me that my mother had returned to Credia and that I should not get involved. I obeyed, but I knew I could not protect you two, so I begged him to keep an eye on you, which he never did." Stefan ended his words with a deep growl. "Instead, he decided to marry her and acquire her fire core as she grew older." He mumbled and crossed his arms across his chest.
"Which is why you despise him? Because he wants to take my life force?" Sage inquired, curious.
"I already lost my mother; I cannot lose you, especially knowing him." Stefan spoke sadly.
Sage nodded slightly in agreement.
All of these things happened after Cyrus’ encounter with her mother.
"But why is it a secret? Why is my entire origin hidden?" Sage inquired, clearly frustrated.
"Because it was meant to be a secret, and now that you know, what difference does it make?" Cyrus inquired matter-of-factly.
Sage smiled brightly. "What a difference!" She exclaimed excitedly, dashed to Stefan, and hugged him tightly. "I finally have someone."
Cyrus frowned as soon as she said those words, and he glared at Stefan, who froze in surprise in Sage’s unexpected embrace.
"Very well," he mumbled as he walked out of the main hall.
Sage was ecstatic. She had a dragon brother who was lord. It was a lot to take in and process, and even though the reason why him being her brother was a secret was stupid to her, she was just glad she had a family.
Stefan finally smiled and returned the hug.
He had only carried his sister as an infant. He would never forget hugging like this. He kept his tears at bay. Even though they were happy tears, he didn’t want to ruin the moment.
Cyrus’ face betrayed his displeasure and anger.
As he walked down the hallway, all of the guards kept their heads bowed, not daring to raise their heads until he was completely out of sight.
Curtis soon returned to the room to find Snowflake sitting on the bed.
"To resist the desire for her, I decided to make her happy, but she has become too happy and has forgotten about me." Cyrus muttered to the nine-tailed fox.
During the time in the mansion back in Empire City, Arthur was on the verge of telling Sage that Stefan was an Adrelean, but Cyrus had ordered Snowflake to stop him because it wasn’t the right time.
Cyrus couldn’t help but feel bad about what he had done. He didn’t want Sage to have anyone else but him. It sounded insane, but it was exactly what he desired.
"It will break her heart if I "mistakenly" kill her dear brother. That fool is getting on my nerves." Cyrus grumbled and sat on the bed.
He carried Snowflake and the nine-tailed fox on his laps.
"I am not going to ask your permission to do whatever I want with her. Switch my dark state at the right time, I trust her, and hopefully she will control me." Cyrus spoke to the nine-tailed fox who was caressing his fur.
In his normal state, he had no intention of killing Sage; he didn’t want to hurt her or see her cry, but his dark state had the opposite intention.
"I do not want to be concerned with anything other than her, and you know that." He spoke to the nine-tailed fox, who was staring at him softly.
Cyrus had not anticipated feeling such strong feelings for Sage. He would kill anyone for her, even if it meant killing himself.
