Married To The Last Ice Dragon-Chapter 78: Are you trying to push me away?
They were all standing in front of the mansion. The cold wind was harshly blowing their hair and clothes, making Sage wonder what was wrong with Cyrus or if it was just the weather.
Cyrus moved closer to the mansion, facing it with his demon panthers by his side and his nine-tailed fox in front of him.
His hair blew in the wind in an enticing way, and his unreadable silver reptile-like eyes were fixed on the mansion.
"Will you come back here with me one day?" Cyrus suddenly asked Sage, whose eyes widened in surprise because she hadn’t expected him to ask the question.
She retorted, "If I am not dead before then, I will," and cleared her throat.
Cyrus hummed and nodded, then extended his arm towards the mansion. A strong wave of blue glow fired out from his palm and towards the mansion, and the mansion vanished out of sight.
"W .what?!" Sage was stunned.
"Invisibility spell, and yes, I am astounded he can do that." Arthur revealed himself and nervously chuckled.
"What else can he do?" Sage asked, impressed and curious.
Cyrus looked at Sage and Arthur with a glum expression. His gaze was fixed on the bag Sage was carrying as he walked towards and past her.
"As you can see, there is no carriage available, so we will walk." Cyrus abruptly informed, sounding completely unconcerned.
"What?! I thought dragons could fly?" Sage exclaimed in surprise.
"I do not feel like it, and Arthur is just recovering from death."
Sage was enraged. She couldn’t deny how heavy the books were, and now she had to carry them down a mountain? Was he punishing her in some way?
She dashed towards Cyrus, dropped the bag, and jumped on his back, wrapping her arms around his neck and legs around his stomach.
"I am not going to walk!" She made a dramatic announcement.
"Your legs are not useless, parrot," Cyrus muttered under his breath, not expecting her to jump on his back. He put his hands on her buttocks and pushed her up to make her more comfortable.
Sage felt her face heat up despite the cold. "My legs are not as strong as yours, Cyrus Dragos," she mocked, rolling her eyes.
"You are becoming slightly unpredictable, parrot," Cyrus said calmly as he walked towards the forest ahead.
"I am glad!" Sage laughed and exclaimed.
"Do you believe I said it because I enjoy it?" Cyrus scoffed again, rolling his eyes.
"I do not care if you enjoy it or not, Cyrus Dragos," Sage teased as she buried her face in his hair, her eyes closed.
Cyrus smiled and shook his head, causing Sage to raise her head. "I want you to carry me in your heart! I can not be the only one who has to carry someone in their heart!" She yelled and yanked Cyrus’ hair, pushing it up against his shoulder and kissing his neck.
Cyrus immediately felt as if he had been electrocuted and came to a halt. "W..what.." Sage laughed despite her surprise at hearing him stutter.
Cyrus himself was taken aback. He was completely speechless and believed his brain had malfunctioned.
"I had no idea I had this effect on you, Cyrus Dragos," Sage laughed as she kissed his neck once more.
"You have no idea..." He hissed and immediately grabbed Sage’s shoulders from behind, pulling her hard, and she raised herself, flipping over him and landing on her feet in front of him. Just as she pushed her hair back, she felt Cyrus’ hands on her shoulders again, and he pushed her to the snow-covered ground, hovering over her.
Sage’s eyes twinkled and she smiled lovingly at Cyrus’ flushed face. It was as if he was trying to process what he was feeling.
Arthur, who was now carrying the bag of books, and Cyrus’ guardians were a little behind them. When he saw Cyrus hovering over Sage, Arthur froze and shook his head at the shameless couple. Venus and Ares cast dull glances at the shameless couple, and Snowflake’s displeasure was written boldly on his face.
Cyrus’ reaction surprised Sage. It was adorable, and she was glad she affected him as much as he affected her.
Though his face was flushed, his silver eyes were extremely unreadable and moving quickly as he tried to process what he was feeling.
"Do not do that again." Cyrus whispered and planted a kiss on her lips.
"I make no such promises, Cyrus Dragos," Sage giggled against his lips, and he drew away just as she was about to grab his lips.
"You better make those promises, for your own good, arrogant parrot," Cyrus said, his face cold and his voice flat.
Sage almost thought he had switched to his dark state, but he was still in his normal state and menacing.
"I make no such promises." She winked at him as he stood up and extended his arm towards her.
"Alright then," Cyrus smirked, and Sage smiled brightly, placing her hand on his, which he immediately clasped and pulled her to her feet.
Cyrus let go of Sage’s hand and turned away, only for Sage to jump back onto his back, wrapping her legs around him and arms around his neck.
"What is the matter with you?" Sage inquired as Cyrus pushed her comfortably and began walking.
"What?" Cyrus asked, his face solemn.
"It is as if you are trying to push me away." Sage spoke up unexpectedly. "Are you trying to push me away?" She inquired suspiciously.
The way he spoke coldly, as he always did in his dark state, was strange to her. She was convinced he was attempting to push her away. But why?
"Why would I do that?" Cyrus inquired, scoffing.
"Perhaps because you do not want to kill me?" She made a guess. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
"You are turning me into a chatterbox, parrot." Cyrus grumbled.
"Well, you married me, and I am not a chatterbox!" She clenched her teeth and pursed her lips.
