SEXY MECH SYSTEM-Chapter 43: Return of the Young Demon
He knew the security system would have announced his presence to the owner inside, so he moved closer and casually waved.
"Hi, Finn Sholman and Spencer Freiburg. It’s the boy from the store. Remember me?" Syril calmly spoke, even waving his hand as if he was talking to a relative or someone he knew well.
And truly the dwellers had noticed. The moment he arrived and stood close to the building’s gate, his presence had been announced inside.
Now, inside the villa, what was once a happy atmosphere for two adults enjoying the entertainment they got themselves, was now charged with tension, their excitement fading too quickly as they saw the presence of their nightmare.
"It can’t be!" Finn shouted first, spilling the juice he recently sipped, the glass cup almost slipping from his clutch.
"That motherfucker!" Spencer exclaimed, staring at the broadcast displaying on a smart screen in their living room.
Their eyes were wide opened, lips quivering as they didn’t know the right words to say.
"How?" Finn muttered a question that sent chills down their spines.
Both adults felt prickles on their skin, goosebumps maybe.
Finn raised his hand to sight, staring at the same hand that immensely suffered yesterday, feeling an imaginary churn that made him shudder. "He almost destroyed them completely," he muttered again.
It’s obvious to say Syril left a traumatizing memory that’d stay for a while, and to think that he came the next day after the fools were on the brink of no-return, that was more frightening.
"F.man, what are we gonna do?" Spencer questioned, his voice low, his usual bravado dissipated and long gone.
Whilst the thieves submerge and drown themselves in fear, Syril reminisced what transpired yesterday.
*FLASHBACK.*
He unpinned the two big thieves and watched them slowly drag themselves out of the convenience store into the streets. He saw them calling an aid, someone to help them as they moved into a dark alley to avoid attention.
But he had long cooked something... ’diabolical’ in his head.
He knew fools like these never truly learn. Not until they pay a great price.
So... he’d ensure that, he would ensure they pay the necessary price.
As he watched them drag their larruped body to an alley, he discreetly deployed a Mechabeetle.
The small mechanic insect silently followed, clinging onto the fools and hiding in blindspots till the aid they called appeared.
After being treated by the anonymous healers, they dragged their weakened body out and called for a Neocab.
It didn’t take long before they arrived at their residence, the perched, tarred walkway stretching long before them.
But they didn’t know.
They didn’t know there was an extra presence, they didn’t know they were silently followed.
Just by the gate, as they were granted access by their system, the Mechabeetle fizzled out of existence when Syril’s mana was completely emptied.
Albeit, the job was already done. Syril had seen what he needed to see. He got what he wanted before his tiny assistance disappeared.
*PRESENT.*
Syril knew he couldn’t enter this way, he didn’t have anything to bypass the security. Attempting anything stupid would have very negative consequences.
But he came prepared, regardless.
Etherion Bar was a recent invention derived from Etherions, the only mineral capable of blocking mana, preventing ability users from using their powers.
These bars of processed Etherion were quickly developed for special purposes.
In households that could afford and were licensed to use the tool, they were attached around the perimeters to block any sort of infiltration or attack by ability users within the bar’s radius.
It was an outstanding development. Visitors couldn’t bypass the security by using special abilities, and security systems installed were also automated to alert owners.
But Syril surpassed all of these gimmicks.
Raja had informed him that his ability was far greater than anything this world could imagine.
Etherion couldn’t block his ability.
And it was just a matter of time before all sorts of machines would bow to him.
But there was still an issue. His ability wasn’t developed to the point he could just manipulate the systems. He only had his Mechabeetles and couldn’t do much in the current situation.
But again, he was ready for everything.
Back in the building, the duo miscreants were still agitated, confused.
The seats became too hot for them. Their legs quavered under imaginary pressure.
"As long as we don’t open the gate, we’ll be fine, right?" Spencer questioned again, trying to build hope, his brows furrowed as moisture began forming.
But his partner was speechless, dumbfounded.
"Right?" He asked again, his face gradually losing color as his jaws tightened.
"Maybe," Finn mumbled, unsure of his own words, chest tightened. "He knows our name... Our full name."
There was a long silence that followed.
If they were somewhat hopeful that nothing more would happen and they were safe behind their security systems, that revelation had completely shattered the hope that was beginning to form.
"He called us by that, remember?" Finn continued speaking lowly, scared that even talking loud could bring repercussions.
"What does he want?" Spencer joined his partner in low tone, pulling his hair violently as more moisture covered his body in panic.
"I only want to talk."
The voice should have been Finn’s. Spencer was expecting a response from Finn, but instead he heard a tone that was casual, relaxed, not something expected from his partner.
Both hurriedly looked into the screen and found that same teen from yesterday with a bold smirk plastered on his face.
"He can hear us?" Finn whispered, his face contorted into the like that saw something beyond horror.
It should have been impossible.
They should be the only able to hear him since the system was built to hear visitors from outside, and visitors could only hear when the owners decide to.
They didn’t dial anything. They didn’t speak through the communication box, yet the visitor had heard.
Syril smiled knowingly. He was playing his cards right.
Everything he did, he had planned, had prepared for many possibilities, and it just happened that things were working as planned.
Syril spoke again, this time with much confidence and more intimidating expression.
"Look around you... Those things you’re seeing are very lethal. They’re basically walking bombs. At my command, they’ll do as instructed and everything you think you have will become worthless..." 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
