Chapter 47: A unique queen

The sound of her stomping echoed loudly in the hallway as she proceeded to go back to her room.

Mirabella’s feelings for Cyrus became clear over time. It was absurd to Sage, twins in love with the same man who didn’t look at them the same way they looked at him, and now they were venting their frustration and anger on her.

Sage sighed in frustration and came to a halt, relaxing her back against the wall.

"I am drawn to him because of this stupid mark." She muttered and sniffed.

"Pawns do not make their players feel strange, but you do; you make me want to devour you on the spot, and you make me want to caress your satin skin." His deep seductive voice echoed in her head and she felt her face feel hot.

"Oh my," Her voice trembled. "Why did he say all that?" She questioned hugging herself.

The ice dragon was acting strange. Could it be that he was also attracted to her? He was gentler with her than usual and his words exposed it all...

"Hello there," A soothing voice jolted her out of her reverie.

Sage turned around to see a tall attractive man with shiny blonde hair staring at her like she was a cute little stray kitten.

He was dressed in a light green that matched his emerald eyes. He was undeniably attractive.

"Are you lost?" He asked, his brow furrowed in concern.

It seemed like he didn’t know who she was.

"You look so pale, are you sick?" He asked again even more worried.

"I.. I am not lost, I just came here to reflect." Sage replied with a faint smile. "And I am not sick."

The man nodded and walked towards her. "Your smile spells out pain, her eyes confusion, are you alright?" He suddenly asked and moved another step closer to her.

Sage took a nervous step away, unsure of what was going on. "Do not be concerned about me, sir; I am not worth it." She didn’t want anyone prying into her life.

She turned away, but he grabbed her arm, causing her to gasp. She turned to face him with a lethal glare.

"Who are you? Let go of me..." She growled and frowned deeply.

"Oh!" He exclaimed, knowing he had offended her, and smiled as he let go of her arm. "I am sorry, but you are getting angry for no reason, my lady,"

Sage blinked twice at him and sighed deeply. "A lot of things are filled up in my head. I am not sure you will understand stranger..."

"Lord Stefan, lord of Antica’s south side, Elisium." He introduced smiling charmingly then outstretched his arm towards Sage who stared at him blankly.

"You are a lord?" She asked and slowly placed her hand on his which he clasped immediately and shook.

"I am," He chuckled at her blank expression that changed to curiosity.

"What are you doing in the castle?" Sage inquired, intrigued.

"Well, a lot has been going on in Antica, so many of the dragons have turned against his majesty and wants to kill him, so many have been destroying and killing, running illegal businesses. Death in the kingdom is increasing than abnormal." Stefan explained, then sighed deeply.

"Death?" Sage asked, scowling. "Cy... His majesty is Death himself. He kills every second." She added while rolling her eyes.

Stefan smiled at her. "He is a very strange person, evil most of the time but circumstances made him who he is and I will always serve him as my king."

His words made Sage stunned. Cyrus did have people around him that was loyal to him. Arthur, Ashton, Stefan...

"Did he save you or something?" Sage asked again.

"Something like that, but we do not owe each other, I am loyal to him willingly not because of fear or anything." Stefan replied and released her hand.

Sage couldn’t help but smile at his words. She was impressed by him, how calm and collected he was.

"You must be a great leader." She said nodding her head.

"It would be an honor if you visit Elisium one day, to see how good as a I leader I am," Stefan chuckled.

"I would love to!" Sage exclaimed and smiled. She actually found a little peace talking to him and strangely, It felt like she had known him all her life.

Stefan nodded. "What are you doing in the castle? Are you visiting? This way of the castle leads to..."

"Nothing!" Sage interrupted with a dramatic gasp, turned away and ran away as if running for her life.

Stefan stared at her direction until she disappeared from his sight. He smiled and shook his head mentally scolding himself for being so curious. He was naturally curious.

He was aware that she was a fire mage and was also aware that she was the wife of Cyrus Dragos.

"What a unique queen." He said and turned to see Cyrus behind him glaring at him.

Stefan felt his heart literally skip a beat in a painful way and groaned in pain.

If glares could like, Stefan would have died at the spot.

"Unique indeed," Cyrus whispered sinisterly and titled his head to the side. "A unique queen that shouldn’t be touched by anyone else but me unless that person wants to die early."

"I like her already.." Stefan choked on his own words as Cyrus’ eyes morphed into their silver reptile-like form and sharpened deadly.

"But not like how you think!" He exclaimed and bowed his head.

"Hm? She is mine, my territory that shouldn’t be crossed or touch or else, I will rip out your wings and turn you into an ice statue." Cyrus threatened coldly.

Stefan inhaled. "Yes your majesty." He said and lifted his head.

"I am not going to call a meeting anytime soon as I am going for a trip." Cyrus informed and walked passed him to the direction Sage followed. "Enjoy your long stay here."

Stefan watched Cyrus disappear from his sight and sighed deeply. "Why threaten me when you know who she is to me?" He asked with a slight frown.
