Married To The Last Ice Dragon-Chapter 204: Virus
The couple was seated side by side in the dining room, and there was plenty of food in front of them to feed dozens of people. Sage felt extremely at ease because the atmosphere between them was light and relaxing, and it took her mind completely away from what had happened earlier.
Sage looked at Cyrus wondering if they were just having breakfast for the two of them because the meals were so much.
He was cutting a meat with great concentration, intending to feed her throughout the meal, when he noticed her looking at him with interest.
"What’s the matter?"
"Are these just for us?"
"Actually, for you." Cyrus responded with a smile, then turned his attention to the meat, stabbed a piece with a fork, and pointed it at her lips.
"What about...?"
"Eat up." Cyrus interrupted her with a soothing whisper that made her eyes widen. "Come on," He was pampering her with his adorable smile as he spoke.
Sage opened her mouth, and he inserted the juicy meat.
"Hmm." Safe savored the taste as she chewed and nodded slowly, her lips moving.
’Are you not going to eat?’ Sage inquired via their mind link.
’I am already full, my love,’ he responded via their mind link.
"I will feed you then." Sage said aloud, then raised her brows at him. "You must eat. I rarely see you eat." She told him sternly while gently poking the bridge of his nose.
"If he doesn’t want to eat, there’s plenty for me." Ashton, who had entered the room unnoticed, grabbed a chair, sat down, and began serving himself.
Cyrus’ brow furrowed as he stared at the demon. "What are you doing here?" Cyrus inquired through his teeth.
"Breakfast, What else?" Ashton chuckled and winked at Cyrus, who rolled his eyes and sighed in frustration.
"Cyrus," Sage said, placing her hand on his cheek and turning his gaze to hers. "Why are you bothered?" She inquired, intrigued. He seemed irritated by Ashton’s presence, which was strange.
"Nothing." Cyrus sighed deeply and nodded slowly, knowing that something was wrong.
She returned her attention to her food, but Cyrus placed another piece of meat on her lips with a flat expression, urging her to eat.
She smiled and parted his lips, giving him permission to feed her. It was clear that was exactly what he wanted to do, and as he continued to feed her the meals, she realized that Cyrus was furious at Ashton for ruining their alone time.
’Do not sulk.’ Sage laughed in their mind link.
’Why shouldn’t I? I want to spend time with you without interruptions.’ Cyrus grumbled, causing her to lightly giggle and shake her head as he fed her another spoon of food.
"Ares and Venus will return tonight." Ashton informed him and placed a spoonful of food in his mouth.
"I know," Cyrus muttered, not looking at Ashton.
"What’s up with the cold shoulder?" Ashton scoffed, then smiled slyly. "I didn’t blast you through a wall, did I?" He asked, giving Cyrus the side eye.
"Oh, I am not surprised you are aware of what happened last night." River’s voice echoed throughout the room.
’Sage,’ Cyrus groaned via their mind link.
’Cyrus,’ she drewled, holding his hand beneath the table. ’Don’t be like that,’ she added, and he gave her a dull look before turning away to feed her another spoon of food.
When River and Katherine entered the dining room, Ashton laughed, his gaze fixed on the water mage.
"How tragic for the powerful water mage who has lost her memories." When his eyes were drawn to Cyrus’ menacing glare, he let out a dramatic wail.
River and Katherine took their seats, and feeling at ease, River began serving Katherine’s food, placing it in front of her and pouring her a drink without even looking at Cyrus.
Katherine asked, a grateful smile on her face. "Thank you."
River nodded and looked at Ashton, who was still fixated on Katherine.
"She is very stiff with you." Ashton pretended to be sad. "My heart aches for you." He shook his head, pursed his lips, and smiled mischievously.
"Did you sleep in a room with a hole other than the window?" He continued and whistled as he felt glares from two of his favorite beings.
"When we returned to the room, the hole had vanished." Katherine stated truthfully.
"Oh?!" Sage’s eyes widened as she looked at Cyrus, who was still staring at Ashton, who was enjoying the attention.
’Did you do...?’
’Yes.’
Sage grinned at his response and tightened his grip on her hand, which he was holding beneath the table. She hoped that the tense relationship between Cyrus and River would not resurface.
River sighed and turned away from Ashton, then to Katherine, who was eating her meal slowly. "You enjoy adding fuel to an already raging fire, don’t you?" He inquired casually.
"Don’t act like you’re just getting to know me, River Viadislav!" Ashton snapped, then stood up and stretched. "As you can see, I am fucking lonely, but you won’t understand because you are all with your better halves. Psh! I am the pitiful one right now, but I assure you! Not for much longer!" As he sat back in his chair, he spoke dramatically and groaned loudly.
"Are you inebriated?" River asked the demon with a scoff.
"No, he’s just lonely." Cyrus smirked and whispered.
"He is correct, he is pitiful." River tsked.
"At least he didn’t hurt me to the extent that my wife felt it," Cyrus raged, and tension in the room rose as their aura became dangerously violent.
"At least he doesn’t crush hopes, trust, and expectations just for his own amusement," River grumbled.
"At least he understands rather than believes he is always correct and adheres to his own conclusions, ideas, and thoughts," Cyrus grumbled.
"At the very least, he has never tortured me for selfish reasons!" River slammed the table and stood up.
"Selfish?!" Cyrus scoffed, then caught his lower lip between his teeth. "I am not going to deny it, but nothing can change the fact that you are an asshole." Cyrus snarled and smirked venomously.
"DRACO!" River yelled, and his eyes transformed into golden reptile-like form and golden scales formed beneath his eyes.
Cyrus rose to his feet, his hand still tightly clasped around Sage’s. "Do not call me that!" In displeasure, he hissed darkly.
"Why should I not? You are not Cyrus, and you will never be Cyrus; you are just a virus in his body!" River clenched his teeth and snarled.
