Married To The Last Ice Dragon-Chapter 137: Think. Reason. Connect
The moon was nowhere to be seen in the dark clouded sky as snow fell heavily from the sky and the wind whistled loudly in every corner of the dark forest.
An army of statkus mages was seen socializing in a large area outside the forest.
Some had built a campfire and gathered around it, while others were in their tents, guarding or conversing with one another.
The area reeked of dark magic and resentment energy, indicating that they were there on a mission.
Inkadon stood motionless in a dark corner of the area, her eyes closed. Her dead eyes popped open and sharpened in frustration.
"No! How could this have happened?!" She screamed angrily.
That was the precise moment her grip on Katherine was severed.
She hadn’t expected it, but she could see everything Katherine saw the moment Sage walked into the room.
"What did that fire mage do? I am regretting giving her that scroll... the wrath of the fire mage. It will strengthen her and make it easier for me to take the fire core." She added with a smile that revealed her bloodied teeth.
"Dragons!" One of the mages yelled, and the army shrieked in unison, gathering and staring at the dark sky in anticipation of the approaching dragons.
Inkadon narrowed her eyes at the dark clouds that glinted lightly. Her grip on her staff tightened, and her dry lip parted, allowing a trail of thick blood to flow from her mouth.
"Incoming," She muttered and immediately, dragons were visible in the sky all looking fierce and ready to wipe out all of the statkus mages.
The weather became colder that it was before making Inkadon aware that the ice dragon was present.
"Interesting," She snickered and walked to the direction of the army of statkus mages then stood in front of them.
Two dragons landed, Arthur and River.
River’s golden eyes were filled with disgust at the statkus mages, and Cyrus, who was now standing on his back, had his head titled to the side while looking at a smiling Inkadon.
"I never expected them to be so terrifying." One of the statkus mages glared at Stefan as he spoke with a disgusted shrug.
"I’ have seen worse," The demon scoffed and leapt from Arthur. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
"Ice dragon, you killed Jorad, but do not think you will have an easy time getting rid of me." Inkadon spoke up despite her confusion about why Cyrus’ hair was black and there were only a few white strands on his brow. Even with his nonchalant calm expression, his aura was extremely threatening.
"You appear uneasy, but I do not enjoy wasting time." Cyrus spoke blankly, and Inkadon burst into laughter.
"Overconfidence! Ha! I will annihilate you!" The other cackled behind her as she shrieked.
"Bluff." Cyrus scoffed, and River unleashed a torrent of fire on the mages without hesitation.
The majority shielded themselves with the magic of their staffs, while the others were completely destroyed, which made Ashton smile.
"Ice dragon!" Inkadon screamed angrily, pointing her staff at Cyrus.
He jumped off River and walked fearlessly towards the elder mage, the staff touching his brow and a dark intimidating smile appeared on his lips.
"This kingdom and the fire mage are mine." He hissed darkly and took her neck in his grip.
"Kill them!" Inkadon screamed, and the statkus mages and all of the dragons began fighting.
Arthur and many other dragons transformed into humans and used their weapons to kill the statkus mages, and Ashton enjoyed using his claws.
"Two souls... one wants to kill the other..." Inkadon choked as Cyrus tightened his grip on her.
"Stay quiet, your mouth stinks like death." Cyrus growled and flung her away like she was a piece of paper, but she was floating, which piqued Cyrus’s interest.
"Says death." Inkadon laughed.
"Pathetic." Cyrus scoffed and began blasting glowing bright blue force at her, but she kept dodging until she pushed the last blast back to Cyrus with her staff, and when he effortlessly avoided the attack, it ended up hitting a statkus mage who wanted to attack him from behind.
Inkadon screamed in frustration and frowned deeply. "You are not different from us!" She fired a blast at Cyrus, who had a shield in front of him that became visible when the blast hit it.
"I am not interested in your lessons." Cyrus muttered and shook his head lazily.
"You are greedy, reckless, and power hungry, and you want what I want." Inkadon walked down the street with a sly grin on his face.
"Are you trying to get inside my head?" Cyrus asked, scoffing in disbelief. "I already have what you’re looking for." With a snarl, he added.
"But you disagree because you are greedy, reckless, and power hungry." Inkadon spoke and fired another blast, breaking the shield and activating a shield that pushed Cyrus out of his standing position.
He bit his lower lip, pushed his head back, and stood up straight, hands in his pockets.
"Think. Reason. Connect." Cyrus titled his head to the side and listed. "You made her powerful with the thought that it would make it easier for you to get her, but you didn’t reason or connect." He sighed and rolled his eyes as he finished his sentence.
Inkadon’s eyes widened and shrunk, glowing brightly with intense furry.
"Cyrus! behind you!" Cyrus heard Stefan’s voice but remained motionless, feeling the cold steel pass through his back and out of his stomach.
"Weak. Not enough." Cyrus grumbled in displeasure.
He rolled his eyes as he stared at the bloodied steel out of his stomach, showing no sign of pain.
Suddenly, the sword was removed, and Cyrus turned to see General Samuel, who looked surprised that Cyrus had not died.
Cyrus chewed his lower lip, and his blue slit eyes flashed. "It wasn’t Sergio after all," he chuckled.
Ashton, who was rapidly killing statkus mages, came to a halt, his eyebrows raised in surprise. "The general is the mole?" He then laughed. "What a moron." Then he went on killing the mages.
"You are nothing but trouble!" Samuel stuttered, knowing it was his last words.
"I know, but I am not going to kill you for betraying me; I am going to kill you for failing to kill me." Cyrus finished his words with a deep whisper, grabbed the general’s neck, froze it, and tore his head off his body.
As soon as Cyrus let go of the head, he felt a blast land on his back, sending him flying and landing on a pile of snow that was immediately soaked in his own blood.
A swirling water appeared in front of him and transformed into a furious looking Darren.
"You will perish here, ice dragon." Darren growled and extended his arm to an unconcerned Cyrus.
