Chapter 120: Know it all

"What are you up to?" Sage questioned Cyrus angrily, but he appeared unconcerned as he tightened his grip on her hand and ate his food with the other.

Sage looked at Katherine, who was struggling to free herself from River’s grip.

"What on earth is going on?" Isabella exclaimed dramatically and stood up, shakily pointing at Darren. "You! You are the water mage that escaped from the dungeon!" She yelled.

Charlotte sighed as she finished her meal, stood up, and took Isabella’s arm in hers. "Come on, child, you are very unwelcome here." She informed Isabella, who reacted angrily.

Cyrus had not forgiven Isabella, and her life was in his hands, which meant that any mistake she made, no matter how minor, that triggered him would result in her death.

Realizing her predicament, she looked nervously at Cyrus, who was focused on his food, then at her mother and smiled faintly, saying, "Yes mother."

Mirabella, who was affected by Isabella’s situation, felt pity for her sister as the mother and daughter duo exited the dining room.

"I advise all lords to leave for their own safety. You can all find out later by doing your usual gossiping, including righteous lord Stefan." As he ate his desert, a slice of black cheese cake specially made for him, Ashton spoke casually with a smile on his lips.

Lord Bronx stood up and walked out of the dining room, Lord Marius bowed his head and followed, and Gael sat elegantly sipping his wine from the wine cup.

Ashton looked at Lord Gael Inston of the north Antica, Lisaeii with interest after noticing that the man appeared and sounded calm but was extremely dangerous.

"Impressive," Ashton said with a chuckle.

"Being here won’t help you." Cyrus finally addressed Darren, who had been silent.

"Maids brought me here, and I asked for Sage not for you." Darren expressed his disdain for Cyrus. He then looked at Katherine, who was staring at him with her eyes wide open. "I was not expecting to see Katherine here." He added calmly, shaking his head.

"How come you are preventing me from going to him?" Sage inquired, frowning.

"Because he is an impediment in your life, but primarily in mine." Cyrus hissed, and Sage’s hand temperature dropped lower than usual.

"What?!" She screamed angrily.

"And why are you preventing me from seeing my friend? You do not even know who he is." Katherine said to River before resuming her struggle with his grip.

"Because you were about to embrace, which would lead me to kill him out of jealousy." River mumbled.

Katherine rolled her eyes in disbelief. "Absurd."

"Now I am surrounded by couples." Ashton groaned in frustration and winked at Mirabella. "How about we become a couple, Mira?" He inquired brazenly.

"Not in a million years." Mirabella scoffed at him.

Ashton exclaimed loudly, placing his hand on his chest as if an arrow had been shot through his heart. "Unfortunately, Ashton Petrov has been rejected." He then smiled brightly and looked directly at Stefan.

"How about you, Lord Stefan Adrelean?" He asked, his brow furrowed.

Stefan’s eyes widened in surprise at the demon’s sudden question, as did Mirabella and Gael’s. Sage and Katherine were too angry at their partners to react, while Cyrus and River appeared unconcerned.

"W..wh..what.." Stefan stuttered totally speechless by Stefan who was now smirking at him.

"Oh my! I made the righteous lord Stefan speechless," Ashton teased and chuckled deeply.

Stefan gasped and lowered his head.

"Enough with this!" Darren exhaled deeply and yelled with all his might.

"Cyrus!" Sage yelled, and Cyrus shifted his gaze to her.

"No! You are not his, but mine." Cyrus growled through his teeth, and Sage’s eyes widened as she realized what was wrong with Cyrus.

"I am not his, but he is still my friend." She stated calmly, attempting to persuade him.

Meanwhile, River had given up and let go of Katherine’s hand. She immediately stood and rushed over to Darren, smiling happily at him and resisting the urge to hug him.

"A friend from Jorad’s lineage who wishes to destroy all dragons." Cyrus unexpectedly revealed.

"Jorad?" River inquired, intrigued.

"And it just gets better and better." Ashton burst out laughing.

Sage exclaimed and looked at Darren, who was also smiling at Katherine and wanted to grab her, but she avoided him by appearing behind him and kicking his back at his spinal cord, causing him to groan in pain and fall to his knees.

Cyrus smirked and let go of Sage’s arm.

Her eyes glowed a fiery red, and she dashed over to Darren, grabbing his hair and punching his forehead, sending a flame glow force into his head.

Darren choked on his own breath as his eyes went completely dead, resembling the Statkus mages, while everyone looked on in awe except Cyrus, who looked on proudly.

Sage swallowed hard and tightened her grip on Darren’s hair as the force increased, causing him to scream in pain.

"Sage!" He screamed in agony.

Sage trembled in surprise, let go of his hair, and took a step away from him. Her lips quivered as Darren stared at her with those dead eyes that made Statkus mages flash through her mind.

"How is this even possible?" She exclaimed, panting.

Katherine rushed to Sage’s side, shocked to see Darren’s eyes. "What in the world is going on?" She was completely taken aback.

"Do not be alarmed; that is both your friend and your enemy." Cyrus spoke casually.

"This is not the time to make jokes, Cyrus," River said quietly as she stood up.

"I do not make jokes; I am not Ashton." Cyrus scoffed and rose to his feet.

"Taken." Ashton laughed.

"Does this mean he is half Statkus mage and half water mage?" Katherine asked, surprised.

"Yes." Cyrus responded flatly.

"How did you find out about this, and why didn’t you inform me?" Sage asked slowly, trying to take in what was going on around her.

"I discovered it at the lake, and my doubts were dispelled by the potions I gave him, and I didn’t tell you because I wanted you to discover it for yourself." Cyrus responded coolly.

"All right," Sage sighed and stormed out of the dining room, and Katherine glared at Darren before following Sage.

"Know it all," Ashton scoffed, rolling his eyes at Cyrus.
