Married To The Last Ice Dragon-Chapter 110: Into town with a demon 1
Sage sighed exasperatedly as she closed the last page of the book, sat down, and stretched her arms out.
She had finished all of the books and was only missing the scrolls.
She got out of bed and took slow steps towards the balcony, where she saw a snowflake falling from the angry dim clouds.
She had been reading all day, had breakfast and lunch, but Cyrus was nowhere to be seen.
Was it because she hadn’t left the room?
She didn’t want to come out because of her interest in the books, but she also didn’t feel isolated or trapped.
She sighed, stretched her arms, and then rested them on the railing, gripping them tightly.
As she stared at the clouded sky, the cold wind stung her skin and she let out a long sigh.
Her mind was filled with knowledge she had gained from books, but mostly Cyrus.
She knew he was busy, but something seemed off.
"Why am I feeling this way?" To calm herself, she asked herself and placed her hand on her chest, closing her eyes.
When she suddenly heard a knock on the door, she said, "Come in!" Thinking it was Ava.
"I am not eating dinner, but I would like to go into town for fun." She sighed deeply and said.
"It is dangerous to go into town, but I can take you," Behind her, a deep sinister voice echoed.
"What exactly are you doing here?" She gasped in surprise and turned to face Ashton, who was staring at his claws.
Ashton looked at Sage and took a step towards her. She wasn’t hiding her displeasure at seeing him with a sinister smile on his lips.
"Looking at me like that proves only one thing." He winked at her and whispered. "You are not fond of me! Innocent me! Ashton Petrov!!" Ashton exclaimed dramatically and pouted at Sage, who rolled her eyes at him and walked into the room without looking at him.
"Please go away." She said this as she approached the bed and sat on it.
Ashton appeared in front of her, standing. "Cyrus sent me here to say hello on his behalf." He said this while staring at his clawed fingers.
Sage averted her gaze from the demon. "Should I call you Cyrus’s bad influence?" She questioned him angrily.
Ashton laughed. "I see you do not like demons. But, you disliked dragons before falling in love with one, and your father and brother are dragons as well." Teasingly, he said.
"There is no need to tell me what I already know." Sage muttered and shook her head in displeasure as she reflected on how her life had turned out, while Ashton looked at her with interest.
He stroked his chin and began babbling. "You might think Cyrus killed that horrible human primarily to obtain information from him, but he never asked him about Esteban. He tortured him, took his fingers away, and wow! I stopped him from taking out his eyes..."
"Wait! Dexter?!" Sage cut in shock and stood up.
"Yes, that horrible human. Cyrus did not ask him about Esteban until last night, then he killed him." Sage was taken aback by Ashton’s casual reveal.
Cyrus tortured Dexter because he had almost raped her as a child.
Sage groaned in frustration, as she wanted to kill Dexter herself, but it looked like Cyrus wanted to erase him from existence more than she did.
"How come you are telling me this?" She asked, frustratedly raking her fingers through her hair.
"Because I want to," Ashton shrugged, turning away and beginning to walk towards the door.
As he got closer, he abruptly came to a halt and turned his gaze to Sage. "Didn’t you say you wanted to go town?" He inquired dully.
Sage gave a faint smile, went to the wardrobe, and pulled out a warm coat to put on.
"Yes." She said to Ashton, who smirked.
In the carriage, Ashton was seated next to the door of the carriage which Victor was riding, staring at his claw while Sage was lost in her thoughts and fiddling with her coat.
Demons were immortals from hell, and Ashton appeared to be a high-ranking demon.
How did he and Cyrus become so close?
She cast a glance at him, seeing his eyes completely black in their demon form scanning his claws.
She swallowed and averted her gaze. He was creepy.
She didn’t know what to say to him.
’Maybe I should ask questions.’ She said in her thoughts.
Just as her lips parted and her words were about to escape her throat, Ashton grabbed her arm, causing her to gasp in surprise and slap his hand.
He laughed and let go of her arm as she glared at him murderously.
"You know, I am the second prince of hell, and you are in a carriage with me." He said with a mischievous grin.
"You disgust me." Sage hissed at him and rolled her eyes.
Ashton erupted in laughter. "This is unbelievable! You are actually collecting some of Cyrus’ personalities. He is the bad influence, not I." He laughed.
"Stay away from me; I just want to go to a fun place in town. A place full of happy people." Sage sighed deeply.
"Very well," Ashton mumbled, returning his attention to his claws.
Sage took a deep breath and closed her eyes. "What is the second prince of hell doing with an ice dragon?" She enquired.
"He saved me, I saved him, he saved me again, and I gladly pledged my loyalty to him." Ashton replied casually.
Sage’s eyes widened at his casual remark. "He saved you?!" She asked, shocked, and looked at him.
"No, no, no, I saved him first." Ashton chuckled.
Sage glared at him, and he smiled stiffly.
"All right, I saved him first, and then he saved me, but believe me when I say I was in grave danger. Ironic, right?" he said dramatically, then laughed.
"Yes," Sage’s voice grew small, and she turned away from him as he grinned at her.
