Chapter 103: Lords loyalty

Sage was gently placed on the bed, her shoes were removed, and she was covered with a blanket.

Snowflake sat beside unconscious Sage, glaring at Cyrus, who looked slightly concerned knowing what had caused Sage to pass out.

While showing Sage all those memories, Lianna discovered that the Sage had been temporarily sealed from accessing the sea of blood and broke Cyrus’ spell.

Sage felt lightheaded and weak after Lianna broke it. She killed her dear aunt and passed out as she couldn’t take the weakness anymore.

"There is a lot of drama." Cyrus laughed at the fox, who was staring at him with narrowed eyes.

"Do not look at me that way; I am not reckless; I am just being myself." Cyrus scoffed and placed his hand on Sage’s forehead before digging his hands into her smooth, silky red hair.

"That Statkus mages..." Cyrus trailed as an image of Jorad appeared. "He was the one they met in Empire City." Cyrus’ eyes darkened.

Jorad was the one who told him about his two souls, as well as the one who told Sage that death was close to her and that death was Cyrus.

Cyrus took a deep breath, straightened up, and exited the room without saying anything to his nine-tailed fox.

Snowflake now looked menacingly at unconscious Sage before curling up and closing his eyes.

Cyrus entered the main hall to find all the lords seated and conversing with one another. General Samuel was also present, and he appeared solemn.

Victor and Ashton followed him into the main hall, and as soon as Cyrus sat in his chair, Victor spoke up, looking nervous.

"What?" Cyrus’ brow furrowed. "And where has Arthur gone?" His eyes darted around the room, looking for Arthur.

"I dispatched him to track down the water mage." With a smile, Ashton responded.

"Do you want him to get into trouble with River?" Cyrus inquired, rolling his eyes.

Ashton burst out laughing. "Certainly not."

"Your Majesty, the Statkus mages launched an attack in the forest." Victor abruptly reported.

Cyrus’ eyes instantly transformed into their silver reptile form. "What?" He clenched his teeth. "Did they cause you any harm?" He inquired of Victor, who bowed his head.

"No, sire," Victor said.

Cyrus hummed.

"We already have issues with the Firerian dragons, but now we have to deal with those revolting living corpses. How fortunate are we?" Bronx huffed sarcastically.

"I advise you, lord Bronx, to control your tongue," Marius calmly advised the arrogant lord.

"I am sure you have heard of the Sumera poison that Statkus mages acquire. I am speaking because I want protection for Piatravia and my family, which is why I am here in the first place, but his majesty has been delaying it!" Bronx slammed his hands down on the table, expressing his rage and frustration.

"And that tongue will be cut off soon." Gael shook his head, murmuring.

"He is telling the truth," scoffed Stefan. "I have heard from Elisium that it was attacked by a Firerian dragon; they plan to take over the south and north first, then the east and west, and finally the main towns and cities." Stefan elaborated.

"And what about the winter, which appears to be getting milder? Does this imply that the world will return to normalcy soon?" Bronx inquired arrogantly.

"To be honest, nothing is going right as our enemies seem to be multiplying." Bronx was enraged.

Cyrus let out a long sigh of disappointment. If he didn’t solve their problems, the lords would make him lose focus on his main plans.

He had been intentionally ignoring them, despite the fact that their problems were very simple for him to solve.

"Lord Bronx, in order to keep your family from seeing your body, I, as your king, advise you to control your tongue and arrogance." Cyrus spoke sternly, his demeanour harsh and threatening, and his words immediately spread throughout the hall, making everyone alert and quiet.

"I will deal with the Statkus mages’ problems, and in the meantime, General Samuel will dispatch armies to the four regions of Anitca to guard and protect. I understand that the dragons are your only issue, and everything else, such as food, properties, and so on, is perfect. You can all leave now if you want, especially Lord Stefan Adrelean." Cyrus locked a cold, menacing stare on Stefan, who averted his gaze and swallowed nervously.

"Thank you very much, your Majesty," Lord Gael said gratefully.

"I recommend that his highness pay more attention to the lords, as our loyalty will always be with you." Marius bowed his head and spoke respectfully.

"The ice dragons may have vanished, but you are a great ruler because you ensure that your kingdom survives by any means possible, even if they are bloody and heartless..." Bronx paused and uncomfortably cleared his throat. "The kingdom is flourishing, and we are grateful." He added and forced a smile that belied his features.

"Sudden humility, how frightening." Ashton laughed mockingly, and General Samuel followed suit.

"My second in command will handle everything there, and I will stay here until I know my sister is safe from those Statkus mages." Stefan said sternly, avoiding Cyrus’ gaze.

Cyrus nodded, his face expressionless. "How about you do her a favour,"

"And what exactly is that?" Stefan asked curiously.

"According to reports, the water mage, Darren Aldea, is still in Antica because he is weak from the potions I gave him. I want you to track him down." Cyrus stated unexpectedly and smiled slyly.

When Ashton heard this, he proudly smiled at the ice dragon and rolled his eyes in disbelief.

"I am not your errand boy, but a lord your majesty, and I do not personally know him," Stefan growled, avoiding those eyes once more.

"I am not familiar with him either. Now you must go find him." Cyrus hissed.

"Lianna is no longer alive; Ashton, please go and feed dear Dexter; he must be hungry." Cyrus rose from his chair, everyone in the hallway bowed their heads at him, and he exited the hall, meeting a slightly stunned Mirabella in front of him.

"Hello Mira," Cyrus said, tilting his head to the side. "Come take a stroll in the garden with me," he said as he walked past her, his hands in his pockets.
