His eyes so close she could feel him nuzzled his breath on her cheek, she pursued her lips unsure of the statement she was going to derive out of her mouth but then she blinked her eyes after some moments in realization that she was actually close to Vixen and apparently, that was among their contract, the fact was that among the rules that was laid in their contract was that their only reason was because of Arthur and anything after that was going to be cancelled.

They were not going to get close to one another and she wasn’t trying to bend the rule, so she retracted her hands from Vixen out of consideration.

"What are you doing, here?" She stuttered as she walked a bit backwards.

Vixen didn’t say a word as he dazed at Arthur watching him sleep peacefully and then he adjusted the side of his bed and then took a sit on the bed, he stretched his hand forward to reach for the forehead of Arthur gently caressing it.

Abi was stunned by his fatherly ways as she silently stayed at the corner, his eyes bloomed love in it.

It was sure that he was concerned about his son.

"I couldn’t stay in the room alone, truth be told, I haven’t gotten the courage to sleep alone," he stated blankly towards her still having his gaze focused on his former position.

A frown formed on her face as she tried to process his words.

" You miss her, don’t you? " Abi spoke and then he directed his gaze in a sharp look.

He was about to stand up when Abi held his hand, and then he turned behind like he was about to use his stare to kill her.

Probably she would dead lying on the ground if his gaze could kill. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

Abi slowly retracted her hand in order to explain herself.

" Just this morning when I arrived at Arthur’s school, I heard the mums talk about me in a way. I know Arthur must be suffering but he doesn’t want to say a word. You didn’t even ask me why I organized this family game. "

" Is not a family game, " he said in a calm tone.

" I know it is but you said that you want me to be his mother, so wouldn’t you want to consider it a family game at his presence?"

" So? What about that? "

" Well, we’re at his presence." There was a pause as silence occured the place for just a moment.

" Actually, Vixen, I know that Arthur means a lot to you but some day or the other you just have to confess everything to Arthur, I’m not his mother and it will really pain him when he discovers that I’m not his biological mother. He’s a child who wants everything but he can’t just want something that’s going to give you pain, if the fact is that getting a mother who’s going to get you remember her everytime, then why me? He has a nanny, he has his grandmothers but then—"

" What are you trying to say? "

" Vixen, listen, in this matter I’m just considering the both of you. I know that you don’t want to be reminded of her but everytime you see me, I know in some way you are reminded of her, something happened and that’s why you’re determined not to see her again. "

" Abi, let’s really not talk about this. "

" That’s what I want, I don’t want to be the same person to be intruding in someone’s else’s life."

" What are you trying to say? If you want to say what’s in your heart then don’t try to confuse the matter. "

" Oh really, Vixen? I have my own life to consider, I have my own family to think about, and sincerely this is the way you want to treat me? "

Vixen frowned as he walked towards her.

His look a bit dreadful like he was going to execute her.

" You want to go on that road, really, if you have your life to consider then why don’t you just head on to your family. Sorry but to inform you, there’s not a gain for you staying here. The only reason you’re here is for you to be the f*cking mother of my son, and if is about the money then you don’t have to be a little gold digger and try to get something else, don’t try to be one, is not pretty decent for someone like you—" he stated in a harsh tone and in the next second, a hand flew right across the air landing on his face which violently threw his daze to the side.

He clenched his jaw.

"You know one thing, my father is not feeling alright, he’s not being feeling quite fine and that ship in, the ship that your company capsized along with, I was going to use it to recover my father but because of just one night, Vixen. I spent just a day concerned about you and your son a worried about everything, just to make you two happy and the best thing you could think of is call me a gold digger? You know what, come to think of it again, if your wife left you for a reason, then now," she clicked her tongue as she clenched her jaw and balled her first irritated by his action she felt so annoyed to expose what she wanted to say.

"Then probably she had the best reason to leave you along. She was right to leave you and get yourself mentally checked up but it seems that’s not the case, you seem to take everyone who’s here to help you, a gold digger, you should know something, Vixen. You’re not the only ones going through problems, so don’t take it out on everyone like you’re the only man in the world who needs help," she stated in a state of disappointment and then she walked away in annoyance.

Vixen stayed still on her position reminded of the words that she said which made him flashback the memories and then the note that he read the day Enim killed herself.

He cursed inwardly for the fact that he didn’t want to walk up his son and just when he turned his gaze to see his son sleep peacefully, he cursed inwardly.

Abi walked out of the room in a state of anger as she walked towards the kitchen, she felt so annoyed by everything.

How dare he call her one?

A gold digger?

It was never her fault she had to consider coming into his house and he called her like she paved her way in his home through some connections.

As she walked into the kitchen with anger still buzzing within her, she turned on the stove of the gas unknowingly taking the pot in the cupboard to make something that was going to calm her temper but in the process of trying to place the pot on the stove, she gasped when she hit something, a sticky feeling but the skin felt rather sharp and rough, just when she looked down she shockingly dropped the pit that was in her hand and then she screamed out.

"Mummy!!!" Just when she screamed, the long creature got alerted and out of fear of its own life, it did what it knew best for defense.

It hit her.

She felt to the ground and then snake crawled away, just when Vixen was at Arthur’s room, the place was so silent he didn’t expect to hear a sound come from the lower floor.

He felt so worried about where the sound came from and then immediately rushed towards where the sound came from.

On getting to the lower ground, he searched around to see Abi since he recognized the voice was definitely hers.

The maids was at their headquarters so it was a possibility that Abi must still be around but as he searched around, he couldn’t find her anywhere.

"Abi?" He called out to her a bit worried, for some unknown reasons he felt his heart thumper and pounder so hard like he was going to be the cause of whatsoever had happened to her.

Just as he got around the kitchen, he was about heading outside to the yard beside the glass wall of the kitchen when he discovered something different on the ground, from the looks of it it seemed more like a coloured object but was really tiny, he walked towards their cautiously ready to aim at it in case their was anything that he didn’t want to expect but passing through the cabinet of the kitchen, he was about to aim at it when he recognized that the tiny creature was actually Abi’s pinky which had her nail polished and the fact was that she laid on the ground unconscious.

"Abi," he said as he came towards her, hauling her on the ground from her shoulder so she could see but then he discovered that on her leg a potion if her things was becoming blue.

He looked worried as he raised his head.
