Chapter 1005: Chapter 1005: Seeing Him Again

"But I can’t do the homework at all." Qi Yin looked at the questions, "The first-year math is too hard; I can’t learn it."

"..." Bai Yufeng knew Qi Yin was terrible at math, but he didn’t think it was this bad. "Can’t you use your brain a bit more? Can’t you seriously study what you don’t understand? Why can everyone else do it, but you can’t?"

"Maybe I’m just too dumb," she said helplessly.

Bai Yufeng looked at her self-defeated expression and was utterly speechless. "If you don’t want to learn, just say it."

"You know how to do it, so help me, will you? Brother Feng?" She looked at him pleadingly.

Bai Yufeng chuckled. "Do I seem that foolish to you?"

Although he took good care of Qi Yin, he wouldn’t just go along with her indiscriminately.

Qi Yin stuck out her tongue, "Fine, if you won’t help me."

"Bring your homework book over here, let me see, which parts do you not understand?" Bai Yufeng felt completely helpless about her; even for studying, he had to almost beg her.

Qi Yin handed her homework book to him, "Except for these two, I can’t do anything else."

"..." Bai Yufeng felt like he was going to cough up blood.

He looked at the little girl, "Are you really that dumb? You can’t even do these simple problems?"

Among the Qi Family children, there wasn’t anyone as clueless as her.

No one expected her to become a top student, nor did anyone hope she’d master second and third-year subjects in her first year, but she should at least understand the first-year problems!

However, despite his exasperation, Bai Yufeng was exceptionally patient with Qi Yin.

He sat beside her, explaining each problem one by one. Qi Yin rubbed her eyes, "Brother Feng, I’m sleepy."

"..." Bai Yufeng had never been so speechless.

Here she was, the one supposed to be thinking and learning, yet she had the nerve to say she was sleepy.

He looked helplessly at this little fool, "Have you been listening attentively?"

"I have been!"

"Did you understand?"

"Barely."

"..."

"It’s already late; can we continue tomorrow?" Qi Yin looked at him, "I don’t feel like writing anymore."

"You haven’t even finished your homework," Bai Yufeng didn’t know what to do with her.

"I’ll write it in the morning."

"Whatever you want." Seeing she was too tired to keep her eyes open, Bai Yufeng couldn’t do much about it.

Before he left, Qi Yin had already fallen asleep leaning on her desk.

Bai Yufeng sat nearby, watching the quiet Qi Yin, sighed, stood up, and quietly closed the door as he left. It was already a bit late, and he should head home; the driver had been waiting at the door for quite a while.

The next morning, Qi Yin was punished to stand at the classroom door because she hadn’t handed in her homework. Bai Yufeng walked past her with his textbooks, "What happened? Why are you standing here?"

Qi Yin covered her face, feeling embarrassed like never before, "I didn’t finish my homework and got punished."

"Didn’t you say you’d write in the morning?" Bai Yufeng raised an eyebrow, predicting this would happen.

Qi Yin sighed, "It’s almost like my mom didn’t wake me up in the morning, so I got up late." Qi Yin said, "Who knew today the teacher would check homework? Previously I missed some and didn’t get punished."

"..." Bai Yufeng was at a loss for words at Qi Yin’s reasoning.

He glanced at Qi Yin, "You can keep standing here then!"

He quickly left with his books, and Qi Yin looked at his back, frowning.

Even though he didn’t smile, she felt he was mocking her.

Although Bai Yufeng took good care of her, she often felt bullied by him.

After class, Qi Yin was called to the office. She often acted lazy, and even though everyone knew she was a Qi Family’s daughter, the teachers were fed up and decided to have a serious talk with her.

In front of the teacher, Qi Yin was naturally very obedient.

However, she found it hard to focus solely on studying.

It’s not really her fault; at her age, there were too many things she wanted to do, so she hardly had the mindset to focus on studies.

As she walked out of the office, she passed by the principal’s office and ran into someone coming out.

"Sorry." She apologized instinctively, and when she looked up at the other person, she couldn’t help but be stunned.

The boy saw Qi Yin too, and his expression froze for a moment as he looked at her.

Qi Yin quickly realized that this boy was the new transfer student.

Because he was very good-looking, the girls in the school were always paying attention to him.

In the afternoon after school, Qi Yin followed behind Bai Yufeng, "I heard there’s a new transfer student in your class."

"Seems like it." Bai Yufeng never paid attention to these things. After months of class, he wasn’t even clear about all the students in his class. Hearing Qi Yin’s question, he found it a bit odd, "Why are you interested in this?"

"I’ve seen that person before; don’t you think he looks familiar?"

"Really?" Bai Yufeng had never noticed the transfer student.

"I saw him at the principal’s office this morning." Thinking about that extraordinarily familiar face, Qi Yin’s heart pounded.

Bai Yufeng still walked Qi Yin home today. The problems from last night were not finished, and he planned to teach her thoroughly. She might have given up on herself, but he wasn’t ready to give up on her.

After all, falling behind now would make studying even harder later on.

The two returned to Qi Garden, entering the house one after the other. The female housekeeper said, "Miss and Young Master Feng are back?"

"Grandma Li." Qi Yin politely greeted, her eyes falling on the boy on the sofa, leaving her stunned.

Ji Yunhuan saw Qi Yin and Feng’er come back, pointed at the boy, and introduced, "This is Brother Zi Han, do you remember him, Qi Yin? You used to like him a lot."

Qi Yin looked at the boy, realizing it was the same person she had seen at the principal’s office.

Though she had guessed it might be him, considering how long it had been and how blurry childhood memories could be, she was afraid of mistaking him.

But it turned out to really be him!

Although she was young when she knew Zi Han, her memory always held a place for this person.

Bai Yufeng looked at Zi Han but said nothing.

Zi Han stood up, smiling, "Long time no see. Qi Yin, you probably don’t remember me today, do you?"

"How could I not remember?" Qi Yin sat down next to Ji Yunhuan, "Mom, I already saw Brother Zi Han today."

"Did you?" Ji Yunhuan seemed surprised.

Qi Yin nodded, "Yeah, he just transferred to our school and is in the same class as Brother Feng."

"Being in the same school, you can look after each other," Ji Yunhuan said, knowing Zi Han would be transferring over but didn’t expect him to be at Qi Yin’s school.
