Chapter 202: ONE LAST CHANCE

KIM HEEDO felt sick even though he didn’t drink last night.

At first, he didn’t understand why he was throwing up so early in the morning.

However, he soon remembered why he was feeling sick.

Hyung’s morning sickness... right. I "stole" it from him.

Heedo instantly felt better.

Well, not physically.

But he felt better knowing that he was suffering for Park Sohee’s sake.

Once our babies are born, I’ll teach them to always be grateful to their mother for giving birth to them.

"Heedo-ya."

Oh. freeωebnovēl.c૦m

Heedo’s face lit up when he saw Park Sohee when he got out of the bathroom.

Actually, he slept in the same room as his husband.

But I slept on the sofa.

Anyway, there was a bathroom in the guest room that they used.

But he didn’t want to wake up Park Sohee with his barfing sounds.

So, he ran to the communal toilet outside, on that floor.

"Sohee Hyung, you’re awake," Heedo said cheerfully. He still felt like shit, but his mood improved upon seeing Park Sohee. "Are you hungry? What do you want to eat?"

"I’m not yet hungry," Park Sohee said while shaking his head. "Follow me."

"Okay, Hyung."

Heedo followed Park Sohee obediently.

They just returned to the guest room, though.

Then his husband sat on the sofa where he slept last night.

"Come here, Heedo-ya," Sohee said while gently patting his lap. "Come and lay your head here."

Heedo’s eyes widened a bit, his heart beating fast and loud against his chest because of excitement. "You’re gonna give me a pillow lap, Hyung?"

***

AIGOO.

He looks so contented.

Sohee smiled while staring at Kim Heedo’s smiling face.

His husband had his eyes closed, but it was clear that he wasn’t sleeping.

"How are you feeling?" Sohee asked while gently brushing his fingers through Kim Heedo’s hair. "It sucks, doesn’t it?"

"I won’t deny that having morning sickness sucks. It makes me feel weak and sluggish. But that’s exactly why I’m grateful that I’m the one experiencing this, Hyung," Kim Heedo said, smiling like a fool. "And your touch feels good."

"Pervert."

Heedo chuckled, his eyes still closed.

It’s unfair how his lashes are so long...

"I didn’t mean it in a perverted way, Hyung. But I also won’t deny it."

Aigoo.

My Heedo is really back.

"Heedo-ya, should I call Shaman Jung-nim?"

"For what, Hyung?"

"To reverse whatever spell he made to give my morning sickness to you."

Kim Heedo immediately opened his eyes. "Absolutely not, Hyung."

"But you’re going to work soon, Heedo-ya. And it’s not just any work— it’s manual labor."

"Hyung, don’t underestimate my stamina as an Alpha."

"You know you don’t look convincing at the moment, right?"

"I’ll recover fast since Hyung is taking care of me really well."

Aigoo.

"I still feel bad, Heedo-ya."

"Then you can just make it up to me, Hyung."

"How?"

Kim Heedo’s face beamed. "Hyung, can you pack lunches for me once I start working?"

"Huh?"

"I want those cute bentos that I see on social media," Kim Heedo said excitedly, but he suddenly gasped as if he remembered something important. "Or is it going to be too much of a chore? You need to rest completely, after all." He paused for a moment, and then he shook his head. "Forget it, Hyung. Just let me call you every lunch break."

"Don’t be silly, Heedo-ya," Sohee said, gently pinching Kim Heedo’s nose. "I’ll make you cute bentos every day."

***

I HOPE this doesn’t look too childish.

Sohee stared at his masterpiece: Kim Heedo’s bento box for today.

He was back at the apartment that he shared with Kim Heedo.

Since looking for a new house would take a while, they decided to return to their own apartment first.

But my in-laws promised to visit often to check on me.

Anyway...

Sohee turned the two cups of rice into white goslings. To add color to that layer, he put broccoli and carrots and other colorful vegetables.

Heedo doesn’t like vegetables that much, but he better eat everything.

For the meat part, he put a generous amount of bulgogi beef on the second "floor" of the bento box.

Heedo also quit eating chicken when I did.

Anyway, he then put the side dishes on the third "floor": rolled eggs, japchae, fishcake, rolls of gimbap, and kimchi.

I wonder if this will be enough since Heedo eats a lot.

To make sure his husband would receive more strength, he also packed him a different lunch box for dessert.

Let’s also pack him his favorite banana milk.

Of course, Sohee didn’t forget to fill Kim Heedo’s giant tumbler with cold water.

Perfect.

"Hyung, did you prepare all of that for me?"

Oh.

Sohee lifted his head and smiled when he saw the pleasantly surprised look on Kim Heedo’s face. "Yes, I did. This is your first day of work, so I want to make sure that you won’t starve."

Kim Heedo then looked at Sohee with sparkling eyes. "Thank you, Hyung."

"You’re welcome."

"I feel bad that I’m this happy and excited."

"Why?"

"Because Hyung had to wake up early just to make my lunch."

"Don’t be ridiculous," Sohee said, rolling his eyes. "You woke up early because you threw up."

Kim Heedo just smiled and shrugged. "I’m fine, Hyung."

"Then I’m fine, too."

"Hyung..."

"Heedo-ya, I also want to do nice things for you."

"You absolutely don’t have to be extra nice to me, Hyung," Kim Heedo said, smiling bitterly. But it was obvious that the bitterness was directed at himself and not at Sohee. "The fact that Hyung gave me a chance to make it up to you already makes you a saint. I’ve done something so awful that I wasn’t really surprised that you asked for a divorce. And, yet, you still found it in your heart to give me one last chance."

Hmm.

Come to think of it, Kim Heedo was right.

Although Sohee acted cold at first, he didn’t completely push his husband away.

Does it make me a pushover? To be honest, kinda.

However...

"I gave you a chance because I can see that you’re really remorseful of what you’ve done during the time you weren’t yourself," Sohee said, smiling bitterly. His bitterness wasn’t directed at Kim Heedo either. He was just feeling bitter after remembering what happened. "But, Kim Heedo, this is the last chance I’m giving you."

Kim Heedo nodded. "I understand, Hyung— and I won’t waste this chance, no matter what."
