Manaless Mage-Chapter 273: Kronos’ terrible state
Chapter 273: Kronos’ terrible state
"H-how could you!" A loud voice suddenly cut through the chaotic atmosphere, jolting him from his thoughts. The voice was laced with hate and anger, so strong it sent a shiver down his spine.
"Huh...?" Leon muttered, slowly turning his head in the direction the shout came from.
His eyes locked onto a grey haired figure slowly floating toward him. He easily recognised the face, and his eyes widened slightly in surprise.
"Kronos?" Leon murmured, his eyes narrowing slightly in disbelief.
Kronos was indeed the one flying towards him, however,
It was indeed Kronos, the celestial mage, however, his current appearance was a far cry from the elegant one he remembered.
The sight of him was almost surreal, like looking at a broken statue of a fallen hero.
Kronos’s once-vibrant complexion had faded to an ashen, ghostly colour, along with red veins which bulged around his forehead. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
His bright green eyes, which were once glowing with confidence and power were now dim, flickering with a mix of pain and frustration.
His clothes had been reduced to blood-stained rags, clinging unto his battered body.
The one elegant garments were now tattered, flapping weakly in the air.
Kronos kept panting heavily as he struggled to maintain his flight, channeling every last straw of his mana just to stay afloat.
He was pushing himself to the brink for something so little, a fact which was obvious in his pathetic appearance.
His hair, usually smooth and neatly trimmed, now stood on end, wild and disheveled, like he had been struck by lightning.
Blood trickled slowly from the corner of his lips, the dark red lines a stark contrast to his pale skin. He was now a wreck, falling from glory, down to this pathetic state.
"Manaless mage... how dare you?!" Kronos shouted once more, his voice dripping with rage and bitterness.
His voice was already strained, with each word sapping even more of his strength. However, he simply gnashed his teeth, trying to hold in the pain coursing through his body.
But despite his efforts, his body failed him, and his eyes widened in shock.
Spurt!
Blood suddenly sprayed out of Kronos’ mouth, causing him to clutch his chest in pain.
His complexion paled even more, the blood loss draining what little life remained in his body.
Back when the energy wave swallowed him up, Kronos had tried desperately to resist it, harnessing all his mana in a last ditch effort.
But unfortunately, doing that didn’t end up too well for him.
Not only did the wave greedily devour almost all his mana like a starved beast, it also ruthlessly attack his mana core.
The attack was relentless, damaging his weakened mana core even more.
The once vibrant and powerful core, which hummed with a seemingly endless supply of mana, was now riddled with deep, irreparable cracks.
As if that wasn’t enough, the wave mercilessly flung him through the air, his weakened body smashing uncontrollably into countless rocks and rubbles.
Each impact had left its mark, bruising, cutting, and battering him. Wounds layered upon wounds, leaving his body in a state of utter mess.
Normally, such injures would have been nothing more than a slight inconvenience to him. He would just heal himself with his element, reversing whatever damage was done to him within seconds.
However, with his mana core damaged and crumbling, he couldn’t even summon the strength to cast a single spell.
Due to this, his elemental strength had drastically reduced, leaving him with less than a fraction of the power he had once wielded.
After a few more seconds of flying pitifully, he was finally able to appear before Leon, coughing uncontrollably.
"So you’re still alive... how surprising." Leon muttered, narrowing his eyes at the celestial.
"Though with your current condition... I don’t think I can even say that." He said, his lips slowly curling into a smug smirk.
For some reason, seeing the celestial who had previously mocked him in such a terrible state, filled him with an odd sense of gratification.
Kronos gnashed his teeth in annoyance, his face turning red in anger. He wanted nothing more than to shout at Leon, and also punch him in the face with all his strength.
However, he had to preserve the little strength he had left, so he couldn’t act rashly.
"You think I’ll just disappear... you fucker." He said, gnashing his teeth in anger.
His eyes burned with fury, but even with all the anger in the world, he couldn’t do anything against Leon.
All his strength had been drained from him, while Leon still retained most of his energy.
If they fought, he wouldn’t even last a second!
Leon’s eyes widened slightly, a little taken aback at his words.
However, he ignored him, floating towards the ground instead.
At this point, everything around them was already rapidly turning into green specks, vanishing into thin air.
In place of the ground or clouds that disintegrated into thin air, was filled it was simply nothing.
The process which was previously slow kept increasing in speed with each passing second, filling the earth with "void".
"It’s all... starting to fade away..." Kronos muttered, his gaze trembling in horror as he stared at the scene playing out before him.
He slowly stretched his hand out to one of the green particles, but, it vanished just as it touched his fingers.
"You didn’t just reverse time... you wiped off everything!" He shouted, however, he suddenly clutched his chest, coughing out blood once more.
Leon froze at his words, and he quickly turned back to the man, his eyes flickering with a weird glint.
"You... what have you done!!" Kronos shouted, clenching his fists in anger.
The veins around his forehead bulged even more, with his face reddening in anger.
Leon’s lips suddenly curled into a smirk, and he sighed under his breath.
"Ohh you’re still here." He said nonchalantly, his gaze locking with that of Kronos.
Although he had already registered Kronos’ presence earlier, he acted like he was just noticing him to further annoy him.
After giving it some thought, he could already understand what was going on, as well as why he didn’t immediately rewind back.
What he did indeed worked, however, he was still stuck in this timeline... one which no longer existed.
Since he had reversed time, everything around them no longer existed, so the universe was simply erasing it all, which was the reason for the green particles floating around.
