Manaless Mage-Chapter 246: Stay strong Harry
Chapter 246: Stay strong Harry
"Pull through... you really think that...?" Harry muttered under his breath, his body trembling uncontrollably.
Though this wouldn’t be the first time his mother came back from a rift needing urgent medical care, something about this one just felt different.
He could feel it... and the thought alone was too scary for him to bear.
Usually, he would still be able to see her, hold her hand and talk to her, however, whatever she brought back with her from that rift seemed deadly.
At least it was deadly enough for the AMO to heavily restrict her interactions with other Elementalists, isolating her from the world... even from her own child.
"You shouldn’t talk like that Harry... she will... you need to have hope." Leon said, resting his face on his palm.
He didn’t understand anything that was going on... neither did he know what exactly happened either.
All he knew was that she was alive... so there was still a chance she would survive this.
"Hope...?" Harry muttered, his eyes flickering with a strange glint. "All her other party members died in the rift you know... she’s the only survivor. And even she’s thinly hanging on the thread of life."
"You need to stop talking like that... like she’s dead already." Leon said, with a wry smile on his face.
’But still... a mana beast that could harm an elemental mage to that extent... how powerful would it have to be?’ Leon thought, slowly clenching his hands into a tight fist.
’It must been a stage five mana beast at least...’
For some reason, that reminded him of how weak and insignificant he just might be in all of this.
He couldn’t imagine the horror that world befall the world of a mana beast as powerful as that was unleashed upon the world.
Would he be able to stand his ground against a creature of such power with his current strength...?
Even he knew the answer to that question, and it was nothing short of a huge no.
He wanted to ask Harry more about what happened... he was really curious about what really happened.
However, he knew pressing Harry who was still dealing with the shock of his mother’s strange illness for an explanation on what really happened would be nothing but selfish.
Besides, it wasn’t like Harry knew any better about the matter than him. After all, they were both pretty much clueless about what was really happening with her.
It all started about a hundred and eighty five years ago, when the calamity called mana befell the whole earth.
The incidents of that day was something that would forever be unforgotten in the history of the world.
The year 2215... when mana first arrived on the world, bringing with it rifts and dangerous mana beasts, which forever changed the trajectory of earth.
Till date, no one fully understood how the worlds behind the rift came to exist, or why portals to them kept opening up around the world.
Leon sighed, slowly turning back to Harry who was still wallowing in sorrow.
"You’ll just have to stay strong Harry... that’s what she’d want." He said, with a wry smile on his face.
"Yeah... I guess so." Harry muttered, hanging his head down while fiddling with his fingers.
Leon simply sighed at his reaction, feeling a little confused about what else to say to him.
He was originally planning to tell Harry about his new element, and the all the things that happened in school during his absence, especially with Larry.
However, with the news he just heard, all of that was thrown outside the window.
"Hey Leon..." Harry slowly said, bringing Leon’s attention back to him.
His head was still cast to the ground, so Leon couldn’t properly see what kind of expression he had on his face.
Nonetheless, he could tell it wasn’t a good one, especially with his feeble his voice sounded.
"I’ll be going to the AMO to see her about a week from now... hopefully." Harry said, muttering the last sentence under his breath.
"Would you like to come with me?"
"S-seriously?" Leon said, swiftly snapping his head back to Harry. "Sure, we can go there together, but... are you sure that’s what you want?"
"Yeah, we’ll be going to meet my d-dad in the AMO... and I don’t want to go alone."
"Fine, I don’t see any problem in that." Leon said, letting out a low sigh. "Just try and stay strong."
"Yeah, I will." Harry muttered in reply, slowly standing back up on his feet. "I need to go now, see you later Leon."

One week later
’Woah...’ Leon thought, staring in awe at the giant building in front of him.
It was a huge blue building, with the giant logo of the AMO boldly written at the middle.
Although he had seen the building before on Tv, standing right in front of it was a totally different feeling altogether.
’I’ve never been to the AMO before... and to think one this huge is only a branch.’ Leon thought, with a slight smile on his face.
Standing beside him was Harry, who was simply staring off into space.
Compared to Leon, he had been here a few times before now, so he wasn’t too overwhelmed by its appearance.
Besides, he had more pressing thoughts in his mind at the moment to be wowed by the AMO building.
"Bro." Leon said, lightly tapping Harry on his shoulder.
"Huh?" Harry mumbled in shock, as the tap immediately jolted him back to real life.
"Don’t keep on thinking negatively, you need to stay strong... remember?" Leon said, raising his brows at him.
"Hmm..." Harry mumbled, slowly nodding his head.
"Yeah... of course I do. Stay strong..." He muttered, however, even he wasn’t fully convinced by his words.
’All this is really taking a toll on him.’ Leon thought, his brows furrowing slightly. Nonetheless, he couldn’t really blame him. He would probably be reacting the same way if he was in his shoes.
"Let’s go in... we can’t keep your parents waiting can we?" Leon said, gently tapping Harry’s shoulder once more.
Non-adventurers couldn’t just walk into the AMO any time they wished, even if they were children of the adventurers themselves.
However, Leon’s case was special, as this was where his mother was receiving treatment.
Since her case wasn’t ordinary in anyway, they couldn’t admit her into a normal hospital, so she was kept in the AMO instead.
