62 Join My Faction

"Fucking asshole" Leon couldn't help but spit out in the crouched position as he inspected the bled out corpse of the guy he impaled.

Actually, bleeding out wasn't the problem here, it was the fact that he bled out from several serious wounds and not all of them were caused by Leon. There was no way to rule on who actually killed him.

This little formality ruined his plans, it was annoying. Of course, Leon suspected this was just one of the faceless mercenaries messing with him because of some sort of prejudice....

"Take that one away too" the faceless waiter commanded. They were cleaning up the bodies, as the battle was over.

People, actually eat in this place so they couldn't have it smelling like rotting corpses.

"Ahhh we have a live one" one of the faceless mercenary said all of a sudden

In front of him, one of the corpses fell to the floor and squirmed, revealing that it was actually alive.

"Ah?" Leon immediately approached. He knew who this guy was, it was the man that mocked Leon for wanting rice balls at the beginning. Even though there was a poison dagger in his belle and an Ax lodged in his head, he was somehow alive.

"Darknorth, I think we need to deliberate first on what to do, two people surviving the death match is not good" one of the faceless mercenaries complained. He was trying to nullify the test so as to save the man with the Ax lodged in his head.

"Why? I've got the perfect solution right here,"

As soon as the faceless mercenary finished talking, a young voice resounded from beside him, followed by a splatter of blood.

"You..." The faceless mercenary pointed with anger. Leon had decapitated the man before he could even do anything.

"That makes it 15, right?" Leon looked over at the waiter and asked. He needed 15 kills and this guy made it 15. That's all he needed to know.

"Yup, that's 15" the faceless waiter nodded, behind his mask was a smirk. Leon was too direct, but he liked it.

(Maybe I could recruit this one to my side)

He thought in his mind. Leon had all the right temperament for a killer and was truly talented.

"Finish up, and let's get on with the initiation ceremony" the faceless waiter commanded. Soon, the restaurant was packed up and cleaned. Then all the faceless mercenaries entered back into the store.

Soon others followed suit until the whole room was pitch black.

"It is said that a GU is formed after placing the most poisonous creatures in a clay pot. They fight and overpower each other with their poisonous gifts until finally the most apt one survives and absorbs all their essences....

Today, this Arena was your clay pot, and all those you've killed were poisonous creatures, but you are the one who survived, you have earned your place amongst us.....you have earned the right to be faceless"

A voice echoed, this voice was strange, it seemed to be coming from the faceless waiter in front of him, but at the same time it seemed like it was coming from everywhere.

"Say after me,

I have no eyes, so I see nothing.

I have no nose, so I smell nothing

I have no face, so I am nothing.....

"

They recited the mantra of the faceless mercenary company and soon enough the lights came on.

But this time, Leon no longer had his red devil face mask on.

It had been replaced with a mask that blended with his skin, it made it seem like he had no eyes, no nose and no mouth.

It was a faceless mask.

"State your code name" the faceless waiter called Darknorth commanded.

"Badur"

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Outside the restaurant.....

Three figures could be seen floating in the airspace above the restaurant. One was a female with pure white hair and a faceless mask...the other two were visibly aged men.

These three were Arian and the supervisors for the level 3 test.

Arian had successfully passed the test, but she didn't end up killing the oval masked man. At the last-minute someone showed up and saved him.

The other two decided to overlook it and continue with the Initiation ceremony. After they did that, they tried to recruit Arian to their faction. But she declined.

They didn't let up, though, they made sure they followed her all the way to this location.

"Isn't this one of the level 1 locations?" One of the old men asked. Why did she come to the location for a level 1 test?

Soon, the blinds of the restaurant were lifted, and several figures exited the restaurant. Of course, the number that went in was much more than the ones that came out.

"Hmm" Upon seeing Leon's white hair, Arian nodded and started floating downwards. Not for one minute did she think that Leon would lose, but she couldn't help but feel worried. After all, anything could happen In a death match.

"Ah?" Seeing Arian descend, the old men seemed to understand something and followed down.

"I assure you, the benefits are huge.....during the tempering we will get you the best spots" the waiter who was standing beside Leon whispered into his ear.

Leon had special status. He was able to successfully kill 15 out of the 20 participants in the restaurant. It didn't seem like much on the outside, but the skill and effectiveness it took to take this number of lives before anyone could destroy your chances was enormous.

Plus, he liked Leon's temperament, he wanted him to join his faction at all costs.

桞oom

While the faceless waiter was trying to convince Leon, a faceless lady with white hair landed In front of them and looked over at Leon.

"Ah????" The faceless waiter paused. Flight was the sign of a level 3 mage. Did the kid already have a backing?

He didn't want to believe it, so he kept on following Leon, but soon two other level 3 mages landed beside the lady.

"Well, looks like you already have a backing"

Coming in close proximity to the level 3 mages, the faceless waiter named Darknorth sighed.

"Who are they?" As soon as Leon arrived before Arian, he questioned. There were two old men behind Arian for some reason.

"I already told them I'm not joining any faction, but they refuse to listen" Arian complained. The old her would have just started attacking them, but there was no need for that right now.

"Oh, I see?" Leon sized up both of them. He expected this, even the faceless waiter was trying to recruit him, a level 1 mage talkless of Arian who was a rouge level 3 mage.

"I'm sorry to disappoint you all, but we won't be joining any factions as we are against oath taking" Leon bowed slightly and explained.

He wouldn't take any oath of loyalty.....that was his bottom line.

"Hm? Oaths? We don't take oaths in the faceless mercenary company" The faceless waiter suddenly said with some confusion.

The faceless mercenary company didn't deal with oaths. It was tradition, they were an anonymous organization.

"Even in the factions?" Leon frowned. He was of the opinion that even though the faceless mercenary company didn't take oaths, the factions in the company did.

"No, it is against the rules." The two old men said in union.

"Ah? Leon nodded in realization.

"Just take my card, and we can have a talk about your future in the company later on" the faceless waiter handed Leon his card and so did the old men to Arian.

"We..... Will think about it, I guess" Leon accepted and bowed before proceeding to walk off with Arian following closely behind him.

This scene shocked everyone here. Leon had a level 3 mage following him like a subordinate? In which world did that make sense?
