Magus: Rise of the Darkness Empress-Chapter 95: Ch : Golden Armour
Even though Weiss felt that this floor was not dangerous, they still stepped foot in it while being extremely cautious. All three of the ladies were holding their weapons and were ready for confrontation at any moment.
But after actually coming to this floor, they found it to be a little empty. There were no rooms here and this whole floor was just a large single room.
They were able to see the hole from which the puppets had went down to the second floor. They were also able to see a few fallen puppets whose fake cores had degraded and were not functioning anymore.
But, the most eye catching thing in the whole room was a two meter tall golden puppet that was standing in the middle of the room. It was not moving at all and was perfectly still.
But even then, there was a very high possibility that as soon as anyone had gotten near this extremely cool looking golden armour, it would also start moving.
So, Weiss told Peria and Elise to wait in the distance and she herself started to approach the golden armour. While doing this, Weiss was using Fleet Footed step continuously not in order to fight but to run away and create some distance from the puppet if something serious happened.
But all the precautions that Weiss took turned out to be in vain. Even when she reached the front of the golden armour and put her hands on its body, it was still as unmoving as ever.
After touching the golden armour, Weiss sent her life force inside it. As her life force flowed through the body of the whole armour, Weiss started to analyse it.
The armour itself looked like it was made from pure gold but that was not actually the case. The metal with golden colour which was used for its construction was something that Weiss had no idea about.
But after analysing this metal, there was one thing that Weiss was sure of. This metal was the best and the highest grade material that she had ever came across so far in her life. Flowing her life force through this was so easy and comfortable that Weiss was feeling astonished.
At first she had thought that this golden armour was not moving because it was malfunctioning or had degraded over time but none of those assumptions were true. The only reason why this armour was not moving was because it was not supposed to do so.
Inside the armour, Weiss found five mana stones that she was already familiar with because of Jonus Souran. Now this was the most certain proof that this Meister person was definitely from the magus world.
But then as Weiss made connection with the next item inside the armour which was a small red gem, immediately Weiss felt that some information started to appear in her mind. The amount of information that she was given was not much, so Weiss was able to handle this relatively easily.
The item that her life force had came in contact with turned out to be a magical item called "Transmission Gem". The function of this gem was to store and release information.
Inside this transmission gem, the Meister had left behind a little message for anyone who came in contact with this armour. This was supposed to be little gift from him for anyone who had managed to overcome the Challenge of the Hundred Knights.
It looked like fighting and defeating the large number of puppets was some kind of test left behind by this Meister person. And even if Peria had not triggered the trap in the second floor, Weiss and her team would still had to fight them after coming to the third floor.
The Meister had now given Weiss a way to activate the golden armour with her life force. After doing so, she would be able to equip the golden armour and get the strength of a legendary knight. Or at least that was what this Meister person was saying.
The term legendary knight was not unfamilar to Weiss but she knew very little about them. She was at least aware that it was the highest realm for the Knight system. But Weiss was not sure exactly how strong a person of this realm was.
But now, Weiss had came to know of the truth. A legendary knight was strong enough to even defeat a proper magus. Actually, the lowest ranking magus but still it was very impressive in Weiss’s eyes.
So was this armour actually so strong that it would immediately give Weiss the strength to match someone who was capable of overturning rivers and mountain ? Weiss did not believe that for even one second.
She had seen in the lower floors about how much of a cheapskate this Meister person was. So him leaving behind such a valuable armour was definitely extremely suspicious.
So, with that in mind, Weiss did not the use the method told by the Meister to equip this armour. She would think about equipping it only after she had thoroughly checked and analysed this thing.
...
Other than the Transmission Gem and the five mana stones, there was nothing else in the armour. But that was fine. Even if there was some problem with the armour itself, Weiss would not mind at all to just melt the armour and use the metal to make something else.
After studying the armours and various traps that were in this castle, Weiss had made a decision. Even if she could find a good blacksmith, she herself was also going to become one.
She had many plans of to create various kinds of artifacts and the only way she could test out her plans was by creating the artifacts herself. So even in the worst case scenario, this golden armour would become a valuable source of material for Weiss.
...
After Weiss was done with the preliminary investigation of the armour, she next started to investigate the rest of the third floor with the help of Peria and Elise. She was hoping that this place would have something like a secret door or a secret room.
But unfortunately even after a very thorough investigation of over 10 hours, they managed to find nothing like that. Still, none of the ladies were disappointed with their gains in this castle ruin.
After the third and the final floor, the only palce that was unchecked was the roof the castle. But for this castle, there was no direct route to the roof. So Weiss, Elise and Peria had to use the windows of the third floor to get to the roof.
They had expected to see nothing in the rooftop but that expectation was betrayed in the best possible way. So why was that the case ?
