Magus: Rise of the Darkness Empress-Chapter 92: Ch : Duo of Elise and Peria
As soon as Weiss broke through the wall, Elise made her move. Her hand went to her sword in her waist and she covered it with her life force.
Next she moved like a wind toward the hole on the wall in order to leave the room through it. On her way, five of the regular armoured puppets appeared to stop her advance but against her extreme speed, they were powerless.
So Elise got past all of them in a blink of an eye and reached the hole on the wall. But that was not all. When she stopped before the hole, all five of the moving armours broke apart.
In that short amount of time when she was passing by them, Elise had used her sword to perfectly cut the chest area of the puppets so that their fake cores would fall out. And as soon as that happened, the puppets became useless and broke apart.
Elise had already learned from Elena about this major weakness of these puppets. So she used that knowledge to take care of them quickly. Not just that but the movement of these puppets also looked a little stiff for the moment. That had also helped Elise in taking care of them so easily.
But the most important reason was the powerful technique that she was currently using. This was the same Storm Assault special skill that Weiss had created especially for her.
Storm Assault was something that palce a huge amount of burden on the body of the user. For that reason, Elise was only able to keep this technique activated for less than three minutes, about 160 seconds.
And there was a very low possibility that Elise would be able to defeat all the regular armoured puppets in that short time frame. It would be an extremely difficult thing to do.
But Elise had already came up with a method to solve this disadvantage. And that method was "Partial Activation".
Instead of activating the technique and letting it ran continuously, Elise only activated it for a brief moment of 3 seconds.
In that three seconds of time, she would make her move using the enhanced ability from the technique and then she would deactivate it immediately afterwards.
Next, she would ran life force all over her body to heal any hidden wounds that she had gotten during this small activation period. After a delay of about 10 seconds, she would be able to do activate this skill again.
This way, Elise was capable of using this partial activation for about 90 to 95 times without breaking her body. And if she was willing to break her body, then this number could reach as high as 120 to 130.
So instead of the measly 160 second or so, she was capable of utilising this skill for more than 300 seconds with this method. Which should be enough time to get rid of all the regular armoured puppets.
But this was not entirely risk free. Whenever Elise deactivated the skill, she would feel a moment of weakness. That would be the most dangerous time for her.
...
Even after Elise had managed to cut down five of the armoured puppets in a very short period of time, the other puppets were not detoured by it and continued to attack her as if nothing had happened.
As Elise was slightly weakened at this moment, even though she was able to block all the attacks coming from her front and the sides, she failed to block the attacks which came from her behind.
An armoured puppet holding a flail swang it toward Elise. Even if she was a high level knight, getting hit by it would still be extremely painful.
But there was no need for Elise to worry. Before the flail could reach her, a spear got in its way and blocked it. Then the spear was twirled expertly and the flail was taken out of the hands of the puppet who was using it.
The person responsible for this feat was obviously Peria. When Elise had cleared the way by destroying the five puppets, she had diligently followed behind her through that route. And now she was guarding her back to make sure that Elise would be able to fight without worrying too much about her behind.
Even though Peria was nowhere near as fast as Elise, she had her own strengths. She handled the spear very dexterously and using a life force boosted pin pointed thrust, she pierced through the chest area of the puppet before her. That way, she managed to destroy the fake core inside it.
Even though these fake cores were very valuable, Weiss already had quite a few of them. So she had told Peria that instead of keeping the fake cores intact, she should just break them. That was definitely the easiest way to defeat these armoured puppets.
...
This way, the two ladies left the room while the puppets came flooding toward them. Whenever her cooldown was over, Elise activated her Storm Assault skill partially to defeat as many puppets as she could in the short time period of three second.
Then in the cooldown time of ten seconds or so, she focused on defending herself and also to find the next best opportunity to use the Partial Storm Assault.
Elise was not just spamming the attacks whenever she felt like it. She was using it in the most opportune moment to make sure she could maximize the benefit of this ability.
Peria’s support had also been a major reason why Elise was having this easy time. Without her her looking out for Elise, she would have been in the need of trying to keep an eye on all the sides and also to calculate and use the Storm Assault skill.
Thia sounded like a very easy thing to do but actually, managing everything without making a single mistake was very hard. Still Elise and Peria had managed to pull it off together.
Currently Elise was dual wielding the weapons. Her right hand had the sword which was her primary means of attack while her left hand had a dagger that she was using almost like a sheild, to defend herself and to parry some of the attacks.
As for Peria, she was showing off her expert spearmanship. She moved very gracefully and face off against the puppets attacking her and guarded Elise’s back. So far she had managed to defeat only 3 of the puppets on her own but her real contribution to the fight was much greater.
This way, the duo of Elise and Peria were doing very well. The teamwork between them was surprisingly good. So they did not get in each other’s way at all and worked perfectly fine together.
So while these two ladies were doing a good job of going toward their mission completion, how was their mistress Weiss doing ? Had she managed to take out any of the superior grade puppets ?
