Magnate Tycoon: How Did Simply Enjoying Life Make Me a Male God?-Chapter 532 - 384: Farewell (Part 2)
Li Jing shook his head, speaking with rare seriousness, "Maybe at first glance, but later I realized, you’re the most innocent and justice-minded girl I’ve ever met."
He paused, recalling their first meeting, when Sophie at the beach angrily scolded a harasser for her friend; and the scene later of her helping a foreign couple without hesitation.
Those scenes overlapped with the image of the girl pretending to be angry in front of him now, "Although I always help out in situations, your sense of justice is genuinely rare among many girls."
These words left Sophie stunned, she never thought Li Jing would remember these details and see so clearly the character within her.
Li Jing’s response was like a gentle hook, quietly drawing out the deeper attachment in Sophie’s heart.
Her expression changed as she desperately suppressed her surging emotions, forcing a carefree smile, "Alright, I’ll acknowledge this merit. Since the answer is satisfactory, let’s part on good terms then."
Before the words were fully out, she turned around, hurriedly walking towards the complex, afraid that if she stayed a second longer, the reluctance in her eyes would overflow.
"How about I walk you upstairs?" Li Jing looked at her thin back and spoke again.
Sophie didn’t turn back, with a slight tone of sulkiness in her voice, "Walking me upstairs? Hmph, I think you just want to take advantage of me."
She waved her hand carelessly behind her back, "Just go! I don’t want to trouble you anymore."
Li Jing didn’t insist further and quietly watched her walk step by step towards the building.
Just as he was about to turn and leave, Sophie’s steps suddenly halted.
In the twilight, her silhouette slightly trembled, like a leaf swaying in the wind.
"What’s up?" Li Jing asked upon seeing this.
Sophie remained silent for a long time before slowly turning around, her eyelashes seeming to hold tiny droplets of water.
She sniffed hard and suddenly opened her eyes wide and shouted at him, "Li Jing, don’t delete my contact. Even if we’re not a couple, we have to be friends! I’ll check in the future, you hear!"
Seeing her red-rimmed eyes and stubborn look, Li Jing felt his heart soften; he found it both amusing and painful: "Don’t worry, unless I lose my phone."
"You can’t lose your phone!" Sophie immediately retorted, only realizing her overbearing manner once the words were out, her earlobes reddening slightly,
"Anyway, you can’t delete me! If you really lose it, come find me at Hai Province Airline!"
"Alright, if I can’t find the contact, I’ll definitely come find you," Li Jing nodded solemnly.
"Alright, enough!" Sophie quickly waved her hand, her voice unconsciously rising, "No more words, you better go!"
"How about one last hug?" Li Jing tentatively asked in response.
"What hugging now!" Sophie stomped her foot and rushed into the staircase.
Li Jing watched her disappear in the direction, a helpless smile at the corner of his mouth before he turned and left, as if her unsaid "Don’t forget me" was still echoing behind him.
The voice-activated lights in the stairwell flickered, Sophie pressed against the wall, watching Li Jing’s retreating figure, her eyes instantly misting over.
She sniffed hard, muttering softly, "Scumbag... definitely a big scumbag!"
As she spoke, she reached out and pounded the wall heavily, dust falling onto her hair, "Leaving so decisively, doesn’t even look back once!"
The tone was reproachful, yet the lingering sound unconsciously trembled, carrying a hint of childish grievance.
She angrily pulled out her phone, her finger hovering over Li Jing’s name, thinking viciously "Delete him, never contact again."
But just as she was about to press delete, the laughter of chasing waves on Yashi’s beach, the focused look in his eyes when they shared secrets at night, and the admiration in his gaze when she put on new stockings, suddenly surged in her mind.
"Hmph, I’ll delete it tomorrow! Just once more today!"
She stomped her foot and stuffed her phone back into her bag, her cheeks flushing from her own duplicity.
...
Meanwhile, Li Jing walked to the parking lot.
He had just touched the handle of his Mercedes when he was suddenly hit from behind by a force with a citrus fragrance.
Sophie’s arms wrapped tightly around his waist like an octopus, her warm breaths seeping through his shirt warming his back:
"Don’t laugh at me! Just five minutes, five minutes, okay!"
Her voice was muffled, stubborn with a sense of resignation.
Li Jing was a little surprised, standing still, feeling the trembling behind him.
He could imagine Sophie wrinkling her nose at this moment, holding back tears, and felt a pang of heartache.
Though they hadn’t known each other long, this girl used her unreserved enthusiasm to stir up ripples in his seemingly calm emotional world.
Adult feelings often involve weighing and calculating, but Sophie’s frankness and sincerity made him feel tender pain.
Li Jing silently let her hold him.
Not sure how long passed, he could barely detect Sophie behind him discreetly wiping her tears.
Just as he was about to speak, he heard Sophie say in a low voice, "Do you really like my legs? Do you think my legs are beautiful?"
Li Jing was taken aback, not expecting her to bring this up again.
Then he nodded and said, "Yes, your legs are indeed beautiful."
Sophie hesitated for a moment, then whispered, "Even though we broke up, I’ll let you touch them one more time. I’m not doing it for any other reason, just afraid you’ll never get to feel such good legs again, I’m letting you out of pity."
Li Jing was taken aback, finding it amusing, he turned to look, only to find her already with tear-streaked cheeks.
Sophie saw him suddenly turn around and immediately raised her hand to cover her tear-streaked face.
"Oh, what are you doing? I told you not to move."
