Mage Manual-Chapter 292 - 250: Harvey’s New Companion
Chapter 292: Chapter 250: Harvey’s New Companion
"Are you really talking about friends you met online in the game?"
"What else? I don’t have any other way to meet people besides gaming. It’s not like I could be socializing with other women in the Void Realm."
Can’t you consider who’s standing in front of you when you lie? I’m the second-ranked genius Swindler on the "Two-winged Spirit Leaderboard: Azura Division." Your eyes unconsciously look to the right avoiding my gaze, and you’re fidgeting with your fingers unconsciously! Most importantly, your baby-level Expression Management totally gives you away!
But women are not the point, the point is that Ash actually managed to contact the outside world right under my nose... No wonder he didn’t care much about the Contract with Hanna. Looks like he has some hidden cards up his sleeve.
That’s normal, after all, he’s on the same level as a cult leader of Eternal Damnation.
And Eternal Damnation is capable of directly confronting a Three-winged Holy Sanctuary Mage; Ash couldn’t possibly be so useless—useless is fine, but naive too?
Igula had been wondering how Ash even managed to become a cult leader; maybe this is the answer.
He used to think, without him, Ash and Harvey might have ended up being successors to Banjee, shining for Miss Hanna for a lifetime; or Ash was forced into becoming a daughter obsessed, serving Liss forever...
But now it seems, maybe he was too full of himself...
"Hey."
Ash noticed Igula spacing out, snapped his fingers, and said, "Didn’t take a bath? Why are you so lethargic so early in the morning?"
Igula blinked, "A bath?"
"Aren’t you the one who bathes every morning? You just came out of the Video Room; you likely spent all night watching videos after exiting the Void Realm, right? You gotta restrain yourself, man, Meiwa." Ash shook his finger solemnly indicating that’s not the way to go.
"You actually knew?"
"I looked for you several times in the prison in the morning, and every time I could smell shampoo. It’s not like my nose is broken," Ash said with his arms crossed. "Well, everyone has their morning rituals. I need to yawn big to wake up too, even if I’m not sleepy... By the way, isn’t there a swimming pool and a steam room here? Shall we go for a bath together later?"
Igula glanced at him surprisingly, shifted his gaze to the right, and tucked his long hair behind his ear, "I’ve already bathed... Heh, you only think of bonding with me when it’s your turn?"
Ash, undaunted after being exposed, retorted, "What else could I do? Pee with you?"
"Even middle school students don’t make friends like that," Igula shook his head. "Since I haven’t met them in person, I can only tell you the common soothing methods that generally calm young women under 20. For you, though..."
"I can do it too!"
"You can’t."
"I can!"
"Your attractiveness doesn’t guarantee such a high success rate."
The two chatted as they reached the living room, where Banjee, as usual, had prepared breakfast, and little Liss was already sitting at the table, eating her breakfast.
"Is the lady not here?" "Did Harvey oversleep?"
Banjee hushed them, placing his hand behind his ear, "Listen."
Ash and Igula listened carefully, then heard a buzzing sound approaching from outside the balcony, as if some machinery was flying towards the sun!
Buzz—
A Floating Car hovered outside the balcony. Banjee went over and opened the balcony railing, allowing the Floating Car to dock—it turned out that wasn’t a balcony, but a parking space!?
The door opened, and Hanna, dressed in a purple mini skirt, thigh-high boots, a small vest, and wearing a fisherman’s hat, jumped down. Although she was still predominantly in purple, she sported a different charisma every day. It wasn’t the purple that beautified her, but rather, she brought life to the purple.
Harvey got out with a suitcase, seemingly wearing a more fashionable outfit, complete with a cap which, combined with his dark complexion, made him look like a sporty young man.
After they got off, the Floating Car automatically detached from the balcony and descended, and the balcony railing closed again.
"Go ahead and eat, I won’t," Hanna yawned. "I need to catch up on sleep in the Void Realm... It’s been a while since I’ve stayed up so late."
"Would you like to start with a cup of coffee to freshen up?" Banjee said, "Coffee beans from Rhode Island, three sugars, two spoons of milk..."
"Okay then, since you recommend it so warmly."
Harvey nodded at them and pushed his suitcase toward the room. As he passed by, Ash grabbed Liss until Harvey disappeared down the corridor.
Then they looked towards Hanna, who shook her head, "It’s exactly what you’re thinking."
"But it’s not picked up, it was bought. Although it’s a gray-area transaction, at least it won’t lower our Gospel Book credit."
Ash covered Liss’s ears, "I thought you all just randomly picked out a lucky vagrant."
Hanna shook her head, "No need, although not many people buy, the industry’s regulations are robust. It’s much easier to spend some money and buy whatever you need than to find a suitable vagrant."
"But didn’t Harvey lose yesterday?" Igula asked, "How did our Necromancer manage to win the lady’s favor? Miss, what do you think of me?"
"Yes, he lost, so I took him out last night for a small task," Hanna said. "When we came back, I fulfilled a promise and also got him a gift."
"A gift!"
Liss suddenly broke free from Ash’s grasp, "What gift?"
"Uncle Harvey got a 1:1 scale scary doll. If you dare to enter his room, I guarantee you won’t dare to go to the bathroom alone at night," Ash contended.
"I’m not afraid of dolls!"
"Really... are you?"
"Wah!"
On one side, Ash frightened Liss into jumping with his adept use of facial expressions, while Igula was somewhat astonished on the other, "You took Harvey out for a task last night? What task?"
"You’ll know when it’s your turn," Hanna said as she took the coffee from Banjee and smiled, "Isn’t it nice to keep a little mystery between us?"
That is to say, last night, Hanna had taken Harvey for a secret talk?
Igula’s first reaction was that Hanna wanted to undermine them alone, but he felt it wasn’t that simple. Hanna was like a bottomless pond. Perhaps you just want to drink the water on the surface, but you could accidentally be dragged deep and drown.
Should I ask Harvey later... but it might also be a trap. If there is content Harvey doesn’t want to disclose, Igula’s inquiry might easily create rifts.
Hanna casually drank her coffee while Igula’s thoughts weighed heavily; sensing the tense atmosphere, Ash asked Liss, "Did you like that Floating Car we saw earlier? Why do you keep staring at the balcony?"
"I’m waiting."
"Waiting?"
"Here it comes!"
A cargo drone flew through the balcony into the living room, dropped off its package, then buzzed away. Ash suddenly realized, "You were shopping on Veil, weren’t you?"
"Yeah!"
"What did you buy?"
"I bought things that are pretty, fun, interesting, cute, beautiful, glowing..."
"What sort of item is so valuable to encompass all those attributes?"
"I didn’t buy just one."
Buzz—
A spine-chilling buzz of a swarm of drones approached, and as they looked over, they found a dozen drones loaded with cargo storming the living room! freёweɓnovel_com
