Mage Legend-Chapter 412: Travel and Travel Beyond - Fifteen: Holy Temple
The next day, a gentle morning breeze wafted in through the window, carrying the fresh scent of new leaves. After a night of rain, the tender leaves gleamed like green gemstones. Sunlight poured over them, casting a golden glow unique to the dawn, revitalizing the entire Holy Mountain with vibrant life.
A few little birds hopped into the room uninvited, as if they were the true masters of the place. With sky-blue plumes atop their heads swaying to and fro, their small, black gemstone-like eyes darted around the room above their short red beaks. Slowly, a pair of small, pristine hands reached out from behind them. Their owner held her breath, cautiously making no sound.
But the wary birds were not so easily caught. With a quick flurry of wings and a nimble leap, the two birds were back in the freedom of the sky in the blink of an eye. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Soka pouted in disappointment, having just attempted in vain. However, the white wings on her back unfurled, gently ruffling to stretch out her muscles. When it came to flying skills, the little angel was no less agile than the most nimble bird.
"Soka, stop playing around," Lynch’s voice came from the other side of the room. The mage in the black robe closed the book in his hand, picked up the Powerful Wand leaning against his knee, and said to the little angel, "Today we’re going to meet the Elf Queen, the time is almost upon us."
"Oh! Got it!" Soka folded her wings and bounced over to Zilvra’s side, taking her hand. "Sister Zilvra, have you ever met the Elf Queen?"
"Of course not," Zilvra said, "That’s the kind of question you should ask Lynch."
"He seems to know everything. If I ask him, I’ll get the answer," Soka playfully ran circles around the female Drow, "Keeping surprises is the happiest thing."
Lynch drew aside the curtain, and outside, a familiar elf awaited. Her colorful attire remained as it always was, save for a soft cloak over her hunter’s leather garments. This was to shield against the morning dew, which was quite cold, touching the skin like the melting snow of early spring.
"Lynch, I’m glad you’re still alive," Elf Anna said with a smile, "I’ve always had faith in this, which is why I never intended to attend your funeral."
"Not just you, Morgan and Wislin thought the same. But they were dragged there by force," Lynch replied, "I remember the Dwarves at my funeral were always muttering, ’He still owes me a lot of fine wine, and he’s always true to his word. He won’t die before he’s settled his debts!’"
"In any case, welcome to all of you," Anna slightly tilted her body and saw the two ladies behind Lynch. Upon seeing Zilvra, her brow furrowed ever so slightly. But she immediately said to Lynch, "Hurry, follow me. Heading to the palace at dawn is truly a delight for the body and soul."
The mage didn’t notice the change in Anna’s expression. He called Zilvra and Soka, and they leisurely followed the elf, step by step, advancing toward the palace at the mountain’s summit.
As Anna said, compared to the peaceful Holy Land at night, Heather’s dawn was even more enchanting. Everything appeared fresh and natural, as if imbued with boundless energy under the rising sun. After the rain, Lynch felt even the wooden houses seemed to have grown taller, maintaining the ability to thrive like the forest around them.
The red berries on the vines gleamed with dewdrops, clear and translucent like crystals. These ruby-like fruits seemed sweetly enticing. Foraging birds hopped beside the berries, not rushing to peck, but singing as they gazed at the fruit, as if reluctant to disrupt the beautiful scene.
Early-rising squirrels stood on the branches, clutching sturdy pine cones in their tiny hands. In this forest, they never worried about food, so each one appeared somewhat plump. Their soft fur fluffed up, and their bushy tails arched over their heads like umbrellas.
In the lead, Anna’s steps were light and graceful, and her elf boots, made of soft leather, were well-suited for such terrain. The path spiraled upward around the Holy Mountain, allowing Zilvra and Soka to appreciate the breathtaking scenery from various angles.
Rope bridges connected the platforms, each serving a different purpose. The elves of Heather meticulously adorned every structure, even integrating music and beautiful poetry into their designs. Windows of varying shapes were like musical notes, carvings winding across the white walls like flowing verses, vivid colors on leaf-shaped wooden tiles displayed artistic fluidity, and the sharp rooftops symbolized the climax of melodies or poems, pointing toward the azure sky.
