The walls were decorated with big, colorful clothes, and there were also large paintings of the Royal family, showing serious faces that seemed to watch everything in the room; among the pictures, Ethan saw Isabella with the queen and her sister.

Between the paintings, big mirrors made the room feel even bigger.

In the middle of the room was a wide staircase, covered in soft red carpet. The handrails on the sides were made of dark wood and carved with pretty patterns. At the top of the stairs, a balcony looked over the whole room, with thin railings that looked delicate and fancy.

The room smelled faintly of flowers, with vases of white lilies and roses placed on tables around the room. The tables were made of smooth wood that gleamed in the light. In the corners of the room stood statues of dragons, lions, and birds, all carefully carved and looking almost real.

The ceiling was painted with pictures of angels and clouds, making it feel like the sky was above them. The room was so big that Ethan felt tiny standing there. Everywhere he looked, there was something beautiful to see. It was clear this place was made queens, and nothing was left out to make it feel special.

Everywhere he looked, there were maids all dressed in the same black and white clothing; some of them just stood in one place with their heads bent down.

A woman walked up to Maria and whispered something in her ears, and Maria changed directions; Ethan was behind her, still admiring the palace as they continued till they got to a room, and a maid in front of the room opened the door.

A large table was placed in the center of the room, and the maids were arranging the table, placing meals on top of the table.

All the maids greeted the both of them as they sat down while the maids bringing the food had their eyes stuck on Ethan.

All the guards and maids in the palace had been admiring Ethan since he came in, but that wasn’t something new, so Ethan didn’t pay any attention, and today was even more special as he was meeting the queen.

Now that different meals were present in front of Ethan, he couldn’t help but feel hungry, but since the queen wasn’t here and Maria just sat down without even looking at the food, he couldn’t touch any of them, and even if he could his hands won’t be able to hold any of them.

They waited for a while before the door opened, and a woman stepped into the room; both of their eyes turned towards the door, and immediately Maria stood up to her feet, and Ethan followed.

Maria bowed her head and Ethan did the same till the queen sat down before Maria and Ethan could sit.

At first, Ethan was just staring forward and didn’t want his eyes to meet with the Queen’s eyes, but then he finally looked at her.

The queen looked just like another version of Isabella but more beautiful and mature, and frankly, Ethan couldn’t believe she was a mother of two children as she was still so young.

"So you are the male who joined the academy; you looked really handsome; why did you join the academy?" The queen asked Ethan.

"Oh, I love it; I just want to travel around and see new things," Ethan muttered nervously.

"I happened to come across Miss Dora who was a healer and part of the research department who found a strange crystal, she wanted to cross-reference it with a king-tier crystal and I had one so I handed it to her in return she’ll tell me about the strange crystal she found since it sounded interesting"

"So when she did, she told me she was going to a cave with Miss Maria where the source of the Mana in the crystal was and I told her I wanted to come with them since I’m more powerful than any of the first year students" Ethan muttered and the queen stopped him there.
