Lunar Legacy: Rise Of The Beastlord-Chapter 132: Winning Streak
Chapter 132: Winning Streak
Jayden was filled with excitement after winning the fight. But he wasn’t done yet. He selected Quick Match again.
And again.
And again.
Each fight was different—a fire-wielder in a volcanic wasteland, a telekinetic assassin in a neon-lit alley, a nature expert in a jungle arena.
Each victory brought more EXP.
Each battle sharpened his skills further.
By the time he finally logged out hours later, after winning twenty more battles in a roll, his body thrummed with energy, his mind clearer than it had been in weeks.
He checked his status one last time before leaving the pod.
*Level: 1 → 3
*EXP: 27/100
*Global Ranking: 545,679 → 412,890
Still low. Still weak by the game’s standards.
But in reality, he was increasing in strength and experience.
And he wouldn’t stop until he reached the top.
As he stepped out of the Pod Den, the sun high in the sky now, he cracked his knuckles, a grin tugging at his lips as he checked his current stats.

Seeing how much exp he had gained, Jayden smiled. Then he put his available stat points into mastery.
"Tomorrow," he murmured. "We go harder."
And with that, he vanished into the bustling streets, already planning his next session.
Because for Jayden, the grind never stopped.
Meanwhile...
A dim room, bathed in soft hues of violet and blue, hummed with quiet energy. The only light came from the glow of several large holo-screens mounted on the wall.. screens that flickered with code, stat-tracking graphs, and multiple windows of active EverRealm matches.
In the center of the room, surrounded by towers of energy drinks, stacked books, and half-eaten snacks, sat a teenage girl with sleek shoulder-length blonde hair and thick, round glasses that glinted with the blue-white glow of data. Her posture was relaxed but alert, her fingers flying across a holo-keyboard in front of her like a concert pianist on a caffeine high.
She was EverRealm’s silent gatekeeper. A backend dev. A hidden mod.
An observer with eyes sharper than most would believe.
Her eyes were locked on one name glowing on her feed.
[Username: ORION
Level: 3
Abilities: None
Weapon: None
Matches Played: 22
Global Ranking: 412,890]
But what caught her eye wasn’t his rank.
It was his data signature.
She leaned in, lips pursed in thought, as she scrubbed through the fight replay frame by frame. He’d dodged an AOE ice wall that formed in under 0.6 seconds. Anticipated a swing from a hammer user mid-animation. Caught an ice dagger mid-flight and countered with perfect timing.
"No ability enhancements... no reflex boosters... no AI assist," she muttered, tapping her stylus against her chin. "That’s not just skill... That’s straight-up freaky."
She ran a diagnostic on his latency log. It was all clean.
"No lag. No system tampering. Not a glitch." She blinked behind her glasses. "So what the hell are you?"
She played another clip—Jayden lunging into a Level 5 opponent’s guard with nothing but footwork and timing, dismantling him with surgical precision.
"Either you’re a ghost... or a god," she whispered, a crooked grin spreading across her lips.
Then her expression shifted.. more analytical, a little colder. Her fingers resumed dancing across the keyboard. A new file opened in her system.

"Alright, Mr. Orion," she said, adjusting her glasses with a glint of excitement. "Let’s see how deep this rabbit hole goes."
With one tap, she placed a silent, undetectable tracking marker on his account—a backdoor function only a few people in the entire EverRealm dev chain even knew existed.
She leaned back, a satisfied sigh escaping her lips as she stared at the screen with renewed curiosity. Her avatar’s golden eyes mirrored her real ones.. sharp, intrigued, hungry for answers.
"Don’t disappoint me, mysterious boy," she said softly. "This world’s full of pretenders. I want to see if you’re real."
And with that... the screen faded into a soft hum, data flowing endlessly in the background, while Jayden.. blissfully unaware, walked deeper into his own story.

Tracked.

The next morning, Jayden woke before dawn, sunlight only a pale glow through his curtains. His muscles still ached from yesterday’s trials, but he rolled out of bed with purpose. Yesterday, as he jogged home through the park, he’d knocked out his daily quest—leaping up into the thick branches of the tallest oak and hoisting a fallen boulder half his size clear off the ground. And the system had given him his expected rewards.
Today, he wanted to tidy up the routine before breakfast. Pulling on his running shorts and a sleeveless shirt, he stepped into the crisp morning air and set off toward the park. His feet pounded the pavement in familiar rhythm, breath misting in front of him.
At the old oak, he sprinted beneath it, then launched himself skyward—fingers curling around a sturdy branch and hoisting his legs up, then twisting to land lightly atop the trunk. A moment’s rest, and he dropped back down. Nearby lay a squat granite rock, half-submerged in mud. He planted his palms beneath its lip, muscles coiling, and pressed upward, sliding it back into the crisp air before lowering it again.
*Daily Quest Complete
[+10 exp received]
[+10 stat points received]
He grinned as the pod-den voice echoed in his mind. Jogging home, Jayden felt the small thrill of accomplishment. Once inside, he summoned the system screen briefly.
[Stat Points: 20]
With a silent command, he funneled every point into Mastery, raising it from 20 to 40. He did this because his Mastery stat was crucial for activating and fine-tuning both his old and newly acquired abilities.
A sharp shower washed the morning sweat away. He dressed in a simple black tee and dark jeans, tousled his freshly-silver hair into place, and headed downstairs.
In the kitchen, the warm scent of pancakes and bacon greeted him. The entire family... Jacob, Harleen, Jessica, and Tasha, were already seated around the table.
"Morning," Jacob greeted, flipping a pancake. "Ready for another one of my delicious pancakes?"
Jayden slid into his chair. "Definitely. It’s been long since I had one of those." he chuckled.
Jacob smirked. "Then you’re in for a treat." he said with a wink.
"Ugh!" Jessica groaned "Would you two please stop acting like this is some kind of commercial?"
Tasha agreed. "Yeah, Dad. Just give us breakfast already." she scolded.
Jayden and Jacob burst into laughter, clearly teasing the girls.
Then Harleen spoke, her voice share as a knife. "You guys are outnumbered.. you know that right?" she asked with a mischievous glint in her eyes, her gaze fixed on Jayden and Jacob.
The two men immediately kept quiet, they didn’t want to incur the wrath of a mother. While Tasha and Jessica giggled in satisfaction.
"So, Jayden." Jessica said. "Do you have plans for today?"
Jayden turned to her. "Um... yes actually. I’m hitting the Pod Den. You can come if you want." he said, directing his offer to both Jessica and Tasha.
Tasha sipped her orange juice. "We’re training traditionally today... sparring drills on the lawn. No fancy simulators for us."
Jessica nodded. "Yeah, give me a real sword any day over those VR cardboard sticks."
Jayden chuckled. "Wow, that’s cold coming from a gamer." he said to Jessica.
She waved her hand dismissively. "No, it’s not. I’m just someone who knows how to differentiate between her playing time and her training time. The VR game is a joke. It’s not real."
Tasha nodded. "Agreed. It’s better to train the old fashion way. To feel the real pain and suffer the real losses. That’s the only way a person can become better."
Jayden snickered in disagreement. But he knew Tasha and Jessica were right. The game could help hone your abilities and skills, but not your experience. He was only playing it because somehow the system granted him exp for defeating his opponents. And also because he saw the game as a way to test his abilities.
He shrugged with a playful smile. "Suit yourselves. But you’re missing out on leveling up real-world skills."
Jessica rolled her eyes. "I level up just fine without a machine."
They laughed, tension easing as plates were passed around.
Just as Harleen rose to clear the table, the doorbell rang... sharp and unexpected.
Harleen’s brow knitted. "Who could that be so early?"
She walked to the door, opened it, and paused, surprise blooming into a delighted smile as she saw who it was.
"Penny!" she exclaimed, fully opening the door for the person. "To what do I owe this pleasure?"
"Hello, Harleen." the person replied, hugging Harleen. "It’s so good to see again."
On hearing the very familiar voice of the person, Jayden paused. His eyes widened. There was no mistaking it... It was Her.
On the doorstep stood Penelope... radiant, composed, wearing a tailored coat over a soft lavender dress... and by her side stood Cassandra in a flowing spring-garden print.
"Good morning," Penelope greeted the family with a wave, her silky voice filling the foyer as she broke the embrace. "I hope I’m not intruding."
Tasha’s jaw dropped. Jessica gaped.
Jayden’s pancake nearly slipped from his fingers. "What is she doing here?" he thought.
Even Jacob was stunned. But he quickly recovered, stepping forward. "Miss Isley! Of course not—please come in."
Inside, the table felt suddenly too small for the collective shock and excitement. Penelope’s eyes flicked to the girls, then to Jayden, warm amusement dancing in her eyes. Cassandra gave him a tentative smile.
"Hello, girls." Penelope greeted Tasha and Jessica. "Long time no see."
Tasha and Jessica smiled respectfully. "Good morning, Miss Pen." they replied.
Then Penolope turned to Jayden. "Hello, Jayden." she said with a smile.
Jayden cleared his throat, voice catching. "Pen... Miss, Isley. Um... hey. What brings you here?"
Penelope raised a perfectly shaped eyebrow and gave a small, knowing smile. "I’ve come for breakfast, and," she glanced at Cassandra, "I was going to get Cassie her very first artillery."
Cassandra’s cheeks colored cherry red as she waved awkwardly. "We... uh, thought we’d stop by."
Harleen smiled. "That’s great. Come, darling. Sit with us." she motioned for Cassandra to sit at the table, while Penelope didn’t need to be told. She strode over to it calmly.
Jessica clapped happily. "Yes! We’re having a second breakfast."
Tasha just shook her head, grinning. "Well... breakfast just got a lot more interesting."
And as Penelope and Cassandra settled at the table, the morning sun flooded the kitchen in golden light, everyone felt the promise of another extraordinary day unfolding.
