Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 754: How To Meet Maxieno
"I think I can continue our journey," said Arielle after feeling her body had gotten better.
"Are you sure? I don’t mind if you still want to sleep again. This is the outermost part of the forest, so there won’t be any wild animals around here. I will also protect you even if there’s one."
Arielle shook her head.
"I have gathered back my stamina. We should hurry too, so I can summon Maxieno, right?"
Ronan then stood up first to help Arielle stand up.
"Fine, but tell me if you need more rest because it’s still very late."
"Sure, I’ll say it."
Ronan then helped Arielle up, tidied up all the things they had used, and put out the bonfire they had made. The two of them then continued their journey.
After two days of traveling on horse, finally Ronan and Arielle arrived at the capital city. In the palace, everyone rushed to greet the king and the queen who returned from their holiday much earlier than expected.
Lucas, who was doing his job, immediately ran to greet the both of them.
"Ah, good morning, Your Majesty the King and the Queen. You finished your vacation earlier than planned?" asked Lucas who was confused because he didn’t see the other group.
"Yes. Because there is something important I have to do."
"Very well. Would you want to eat, shower, or rest first?" Lucas offered the queen.
Arielle took off her coat, and Lucas took the initiative to carry it.
Ronan also did the same.
"We’ll take a shower, then rest. Please bring the food to our room."
"Yes, Your Majesty. I will do it right away."
Arielle asked Ronan permission to briefly look at the dragon eggs that she had left for several days. Ronan wanted Arielle to rest a bit, but the girl was so stubborn to see the dragon eggs first.
"Come back when the water to take a bath has been prepared."
"Alright, I promise. I just want to see them," said Arielle.
Just as Arielle expected. Nothing had changed. Those dragon eggs still held an unfathomable mystery. Maxieno said that the heat of the flame that she released was almost like Abigail’s flame. However, why didn’t the eggs hatch? Was there anything else that Arielle accidentally missed? But what was that?
After checking the three eggs, Arielle returned as she promised. She cleaned her body and rested for a while after filling her stomach because they had eaten irregularly for two days.
At night, Ronan and Arielle were observing the tattoo on Arielle’s hand, which was the seal of her agreement with Maxieno.
"Otis said that if I fail to fulfill my duty, then this seal will be handed down to my descendants. So is the responsibility to look after and hatch the dragon’s eggs."
"Okay, then?" Ronan asked patiently.
"It’s like how you lost yourself under the full moon. Inside your body was a seal like this one, and it was made by Amadea with King Theodore. That also made a part of Amadea stored in you. This seal also keeps a part of Maxieno’s. I just need to hurt it a little so I can let Maxieno know that I want to talk to him."
"Breaking it physically, right?"
"Yeah."
Arielle showed a part which had a small red dragon that connected the tattoo of tendrils on her wrist.
"I’ll cut this part with a dagger."
"Wait for a moment. I will call a doctor to attend to your wound immediately if this doesn’t go well."
Arielle had to wait a little longer. The small dagger in her hand had been prepared beforehand. Ronan asked the girl once again whether injuring herself was the only way to get in contact with the dragon or if there was a safer method.
However, so far Arielle didn’t know any method other than that. She didn’t even know if this method would work or not. She had only heard it from Otis. When Ronan was in pain on the full moon, it injured and triggered the seal that was entwined within the man’s body. Therefore, the few parts of Amadea that were left in him would appear again.
The doctor was ready. It turned out that it wasn’t just the doctor who had arrived, but Priest Elis also came. Lucas and Tania stood by to help if needed.
Everyone turned their backs to Arielle and Ronan because Ronan forbade them to see what the queen was going to do at any minute.
"You ready?" Arielle asked Ronan.
Like what Arielle had done when she wanted to test whether she had healing powers with blood like Princess Cecillia or not, the one who was terrified here wasn’t herself but Ronan.
Ronan took a long breath and let it out.
"Yeah, I’m ready."
"If you can’t hold it in, you can close your eyes, Ronan," said Arielle, reminding Ronan not to overreact.
"No, I have to know whether your injuries will be dangerous or not because if you injure yourself too much, I will immediately stop you, and you cannot protest!"
Arielle just chuckled and put the tip of the dagger back on the tattoo in part of her hand. She was nervous because Ronan kept his eyes fixed on her hand. Seeing Ronan’s clenched fists, the man must have restrained himself from stopping her instantly.
SET!
Arielle injured her hand so quickly that blood started coming out of her hand.
BADUMP!
Her heart was beating really hard. Arielle’s vision started to blur, and the last thing she heard was Ronan screaming her name worriedly.
***
Arielle woke up in an unfamiliar place. She felt she had been in this place, but she didn’t remember it clearly. The whole room was just white. An endless white. Arielle straightened her back and found a man sitting on a throne.
His red hair was longer than Arielle could last remember, and a red snowdrop pendant necklace hung around his neck.
"Stupid human. Who told you how to get in here?" asked Maxineo in a cold tone.
