Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 562: The Awkwardness Between Siblings
Arielle was very happy to see Irene eating well. The fresh Frostberries were also served on the table. Arielle couldn’t help herself from eating it because it was her favorite fruit. The sweetness mingled with the sour taste felt right in her tongue. It melted gently in her mouth, spitting out the blood red nectar.
"What else do you want to eat?" Arielle asked enthusiastically. She still continued to offer a lot of food to Irene.
Irene looked at the entire table that she had only eaten half of. There were still many foods that she didn’t know if she should try or not. However, her stomach was already full. Irene still wanted to try another food because she didn’t know when she would eat this delicious food again. She would not waste this opportunity and continued to fill her stomach until it almost burst.
Arielle, who was initially happy, suddenly became worried because Irene kept eating without stopping. She was worried that if Irene kept forcing herself to eat, the girl would have an upset stomach later. Arielle then touched Irene’s outstretched hand to take a cake.
"If your stomach is full, don’t force it. You can still eat something else next time. I don’t want you to be sick."
Irene was silent for a moment then withdrew her hand quickly, feeling really embarrassed. The girl nodded with her head while looking down.
"Oh, I will never forbid you to eat. I’m just worried you’ll get sick if you keep forcing all the food here into your stomach. Having an upset stomach is not something fun," Arielle explained briefly. She didn’t want Irene to misunderstand.
Irene nodded in understanding. She knew the pain was very uncomfortable. Her stomach would feel like it was going to twist until cold sweat dripped down her temples, and there was nothing she could do but force herself to sleep to forget the pain. That was if she could sleep soundly. Mostly, Irene could only hold back her tears silently until morning because she didn’t want to disturb the werewolves with her crying sound.
The door was knocked from outside then a guard announced Ronan’s arrival, making Irene’s body stiffen. The little girl turned to Arielle quickly. Arielle chuckled seeing Irene’s panicked face.
"You don’t need to be afraid. He is your brother," Arielle said reassuringly, but Irene still couldn’t get rid of her fear.
Irene also stood up when Arielle stood up. However, her stomach started to hurt when she got up too fast. She bit her lower lip to keep from groaning in pain.
Ronan entered the dining hall. He stood in front of Arielle who greeted him with a faint smile. Then, he glanced at a girl dressed simply with Arielle’s coat on her shoulders. His gaze now turned to the dining table where almost half of the food had been eaten without any leftovers.
"You have eaten?" Arielle asked then pulled a chair for her husband across from the chair occupied by Irene.
Ronan just shook his head and thanked Arielle. Aimee then ordered the maid to prepare a set lunch for the king and several maids appeared to clean up the leftovers, as well as the untouched plates of food.
"Leave what hasn’t been eaten. Maybe she still wants to eat," said Ronan, referring to Irene.
"Irene, you can sit down," Arielle said so that the child could sit back in her place again.
Irene looked doubtful. She looked at the chair longer than it should have been. When Arielle gently patted the chair, Irene couldn’t help but sit back down. Her stomach felt more relieved when she was in a sitting position like this.
Arielle waited for Ronan to start a conversation, but the man just kept quiet while looking the other way. The atmosphere at the dining table became very awkward. She cleared her throat uncomfortably at the silent situation.
Then, Lucas arrived with a set of food for Ronan and placed it right in front of the man. After Lucas and Aimee left the dining hall, Ronan ate his food without saying anything.
Usually, if there was only Arielle, Ronan would probably force his wife to eat with him.
"How was the food? Is it to your taste?" Ronan asked Irene without lifting his face to look at his little sister.
The confused Irene turned to Arielle, and Arielle gave a gesture to answer the question.
"It’s delicious," Irene answered in a very low voice like a whisper. Even so, Ronan could still hear it then nodded in response.
"If it’s delicious, why not finish it all?" Ronan asked again without looking at Irene.
Irene, who was intimidated by Ronan, took the cake in front of her and ate it again. Seeing it, Arielle immediately stopped the girl and put back the cake that Irene had taken.
"Irene has eaten too much. If she forces herself, she will have an upset stomach," said Arielle, making Ronan stop eating to take a quick glance at his sister.
"Oh," he replied. That was all Ronan could say.
Until Ronan had finished eating, they no longer spoke, and Ronan drank all the water in the glass at once. Then, a maid came to clean up Ronan’s plate. The man took a deep breath.
"Arthur probably won’t be staying here with us, and he wants you to stay here."
Irene quickly turned to Arielle. "I want to go with my father..." she said in a very low voice.
Arielle nodded in understanding then held the girl’s hand.
"Where will Arthur live?" she asked Ronan.
"Arthur will live in another city. In the city where we got married. He wants to be able to look after mother’s grave."
Irene shook her head, indicating that she didn’t want to live here without her father. She still wanted to be with her father. Arielle was nice to her, but Irene was still afraid of being left in a foreign place. The image of her being kidnapped and brought back to Birwick still haunted her.
What if Darui was still alive and wanted to punish her? What if her father was suddenly being brought back to Birwick and punished? Irene didn’t want to be apart. She would go wherever her father would go.
"I’m going to live with my father. Can I, Arielle?" Irene asked, still pleading to Arielle.
