Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 550: Ronan Hates Maxieno With No Reasons
"What are you thinking about?" asked Ronan who found Arielle twirling her dress with knitted brows.
"I kept remembering the female dragon I had told you about. I really wanted to see Abigail for the last time, but neither Lord Otis nor Maxieno gave me permission because they said if I insisted, it would only make Abigail depressed."
Ronan turned his head, trying not to look at his wife’s sad expression. He hated his wife’s gloomy face. Ronan wanted to make the girl smile happily again. The only way to ease Arielle’s worries was to reunite her with the female dragon.
Ronan had said it many times that he was a selfish and very possessive person. He didn’t like it when he had to be separated from Arielle again, even if it was only for a few seconds. At least for now, he wanted to dominate his wife until next month.
Even though Ronan had averted his eyes so he didn’t see Arielle’s sad expression, his sharp ears could still hear the heavy sighs coming out of the girl’s mouth. It sounded like Arielle had something weighed on her mind.
Ronan then sighed and asked, "Do you know how to get back to that place without the help of Otis or that damn dragon?"
Arielle turned to her husband. "What do you mean?"
"If you know how to get back to that place, then I’ll take you. You’re not the type to sit here quietly, following my every word, Sweetheart. Instead of finding myself waking up without you because you ran off without my permission, I’d better take you there myself," said Ronan.
Arielle shook her head, trying to deny it. However, Ronan’s words were true. Even though she looked clumsy, quiet, and aloof, Arielle had a rebellious soul. It wasn’t really bad though.
From the first time they met, Ronan had already realized his wife’s rebellious soul. When he accidentally offended Arielle for her inability to read and write, the girl ignored him for several days. Arielle even asked Priest Elis to give her a job. Luckily, Ronan knew about it right away. On the first day Arielle worked at the cathedral, he came and stopped her.
Back then, Arielle said she wanted to get money, so she could learn to read and write after returning to the South. She didn’t like Ronan’s words that said she preferred drawing to reading and writing. Whereas, Arielle had absolutely no choice at that time. In the end, it was Ronan who offered her to learn to read and write. Ronan even taught Arielle to read and write.
That was just one of them. Arielle still did not realize that she often showed rebelliousness. Starting from forcing herself to raise five rabbits at once, bringing Sasha to live with them, and taking care of Crimson. Luckily, after that incident, they immediately knew who the baby’s parents were. If not, maybe until now, it would be hard to get Arielle’s attention because the girl would only focus on Crimson, forgetting Ronan’s presence completely. Well, Ronan was the jealous type when it came to Arielle.
The last time was when Arielle couldn’t be contacted. Ronan didn’t want that to happen again. It was like a nightmare for him. He always wanted to know about Arielle’s condition. So, he didn’t want his wife to be out of his sight.
After explaining all his worries, Ronan could see Arielle’s face turn red.
"I didn’t mean to get you into trouble," the girl replied.
"You don’t trouble me at all. I don’t mind it even if you trouble me. I just don’t want to feel lost again when I don’t know about your condition. I trust you, Arielle. On one condition, I have to make sure that nothing will happen to you," Ronan said.
Arielle understood the man’s concern. She then nodded. It was unfortunate that she no longer had a key to enter Birwick Mountain because the red necklace from Amadea had been exchanged for the elixir.
Arielle then shook her head, causing Ronan to frown.
"Why? You still need Otis’ help to get to that place?" Ronan asked.
"Um... no. Actually, I had the key to enter that place, but..."
"You lost it?" Ronan asked again.
"N-no, it’s not like that. I traded it for something else... to Maxieno."
"Huh? Maxieno? What did you trade with the dragon?"
Ronan was really confused. Didn’t the dragon have access to enter his own place? Why did the man take Arielle’s key? He had a bad feeling about the dragon from the start. Even though the man had helped Arielle, there was something about the beast that provoked his emotions.
Just looking at his face made Ronan feel sick in a strange way. He felt like throwing up. Lazarus was annoying, but Maxieno had an aura that asked to be punched right in the face whenever Ronan heard his name. Yes! Just by hearing the man’s name, Ronan felt like her blood boiled up with anger.
"Right. I traded it with the elixir to treat your wounds."
"My wounds?"
"Yes. The doctor said that since last night you screamed in pain. You even had a high fever even though you didn’t turn into a wolf. You injured yourself, scratching your skin until the doctors agreed to increase the anesthetic dose by three times. When I arrived, I also could feel your body temperature was very high. It was a really unusual fever. No matter how many times I’ve absorbed the heat from your body, your fever didn’t go down."
"Elixir?"
Arielle nodded, then explained about the elixir of immortality she got from the unicorn clan which was later snatched by Maxieno.
"The dragon snatched it?" asked Ronan in a slightly high tone.
"Ah, but I also have to thank Maxieno because without the help of the dragons, I might not be able to save Arthur and Irene or find the red snowdrop," Arielle explained, hoping Ronan wouldn’t be too angry with Maxieno.
"So, you traded that for me?" the man asked as he plopped down on the bed.
Arielle turned around while touching her husband’s body.
"Isn’t that a gift?"
She nodded her head. "Yes, but to me, your life is the most important thing for me. I don’t regret it."
"But, you can’t come back now, can you?"
"It doesn’t matter. I’m sure Maxieno must have a way. Try to have some faith in him," said Arielle, making Ronan pursed his lips.
"Arielle, please don’t be offended."
"Yes?"
"I want you to stop meeting that dragon. I have a bad feeling about the dragon. His face says that bad luck would follow him for seven generations."
"Shhh... you can’t talk like that," Arielle scolded softly while placing her index finger on her husband’s lips.
"But, he took something that didn’t belong to him! What will he take from you again later? I don’t like it."
Arielle raised her hand to remind Ronan of the agreement she had made with Maxieno, making the man groan. Ronan cursed softly. He forgot that Arielle had made an agreement with that bastard dragon.
Then, the door was knocked from the outside. Ronan walked away and opened the door. Lucas entered the room. The man brought new warm clothes for the princess, as well as the bunnies which Arielle had not seen in a long time. Arielle immediately crouched down to pick up Riel and the other rabbit into her arms. Lucas also brought three trolleys full of food, as Ronan had ordered.
