Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 531: The End Of Darui’s Reign
Arielle and Maxieno looked at each other.
"I want to get the snowdrop," said Maxieno, making the two mountain trolls frown.
"Hmm? Your voice is a little different? Have you found a cure for your sore throat?" asked the troll.
One of the trolls stretched out his hand with its palm up. Was that a sign that it wanted to be touched?
"Hmm? Lord Darui? Aren’t you Lord Darui?" asked the troll.
Arielle hurriedly took one of Darui’s hands and placed it on the troll’s palm.
"Hmm? A little wet, but your fur still feels soft as usual," said the troll who then shifted his body.
"I’m sorry to keep you standing for so long. We promise to keep your garden in good condition," continued the other troll. Then, Arielle and Maxieno saw a black iron gate that was already overgrown with vines.
"Are they stupid?" Maxieno muttered as he glared at the two mountain trolls in front of him.
"Shh... don’t talk like that. They are blind," said Arielle, reminding Maxieno not to make a fuss. She was worried that the flowers would be destroyed considering how Maxieno fought. The man really enjoyed burning everything.
Arielle frowned, feeling very familiar with the shape of the gate. Maxieno then pulled the girl’s body. They shouldn’t have wasted time standing in that place. They needed to look for the red snowdrop right away.
When they arrived in the garden, Arielle and Maxieno frowned in confusion because the sight was not what they expected. The plants in the garden were all snowdrops, but all of them had white color.
Both Arielle and Maxieno split up to find the location of the red snowdrop. There were no signs that distinguished the red or white snowdrops. Maxieno was too lazy to look for it and decided not to crouch down like Arielle. He just stood in place and scanned every snowdrop petal in front of him.
Those plants looked like ordinary grass. Maxieno didn’t know what made the flower so special for Amadea made the flower be the key to his curse. It was very strange, thought Maxieno.
Arielle’s steps stopped when she saw a statue in the middle of the garden. It was a statue of a woman holding a snowdrop flower. Her hair was loose and wavy and she was in a crouching pose as if she wanted to reach for something on the ground. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
Arielle stepped back to see what was underneath. There was nothing significant on the ground. There was only a drawer-like storage space under the stepping stone where the statue of the woman was standing. Arielle opened the drawer, and her eyes widened at the sight of a red snowdrop in the shining glass case. However, the problem was that the cage protecting the flower was made of the same diamond that Arielle had found in the dagger.
"Ah, apparently it was stored there. I think it’s embedded in the ground," said Maxieno while looking at the red snowdrop flower.
"You can melt it, can’t you? Why do you look doubtful?"
Arielle nodded, then grabbed the diamond bars that protected the red snowdrop. After releasing considerable heat by concentrating the smaller flames on the surface of the cage, she managed to melt the bars and touch the glass shield.
"Should we take off the glass shield?" asked Arielle.
"Not yet. We’ll just ask Otis later," Maxieno replied.
Grrr... Grrr.....
Arielle looked back and found Darui who was standing without arms staring intently at her. Maxieno hadn’t turned around yet. He didn’t care about Darui’s existence whose eyes had been glowing red.
"Give me the flower back or I’ll kill you right here," he growled furiously.
Arielle hugged the snowdrop tightly. When Darui took one step forward, a big red eyed wolf suddenly attacked Darui, making him fall to the ground. The wolf tore Darui apart.
"Arthur!" called Arielle who was worried because the man was supposed to be with Irene and Violet, hiding in a safe place.
"Let him be. He wanted to avenge that damn Alpha for the rash treatment he and his daughter had received for the past few years. We must return to the castle right away," said Maxieno who pulled Arielle out of the garden.
Maxieno couldn’t turn into a dragon because of the wolf’s strong influence, and the strange barrier in that place also made him unable to transform into a dragon. Arielle ran past the two mountain trolls who had died with their necks ripped. She turned her face away to shake off the guilt.
After reaching a safe radius, Maxieno transformed back into a dragon and Arielle jumped on him. The two of them flew towards the castle with a red snowdrop in Arielle’s hand.
"Maxieno! We must return to werewolf territory! There is someone I want to save!" Arielle shouted for Maxieno to turn around as they passed the burning werewolf settlement.
"No! You should be treated with the elixir immediately!" Maxino said.
"But, this is important! I want to save him!" Arielle replied stubbornly.
"Ugh.... fine, I will help you one last time!" Maxieno said in annoyance.
Maxieno turned back and stopped in the middle of the field while waiting for Arielle to save the person referred to by the girl. All the dragons were surrounding the remaining werewolves. Their leader had died, and some of their soldiers had also died. Maxieno really enjoyed this sight...
Arielle then came out carrying a boy who only wore pants on his back. Who else was that kid? His pale skin looked like he hadn’t seen the sun in years. Thin and full of dirt, Maxieno was initially reluctant to let the boy ride on his back with Arielle.
However, Arielle had put the child down without asking his approval first. Maxieno immediately flapped his wings, leaving the ruins of the wolves’ settlement. Now, they would keep remembering that wolves could never beat dragons.
The sun began to appear on the eastern horizon. It meant tonight was the night where the souls of Princess Cecil and Amadea who were left on earth would meet. Arielle started to feel weak. Maybe because she had lost a lot of blood.
After they arrived at the castle, Otis immediately helped Arielle treat her wound with the remaining Elixir of immortality. Irene and Arthur also got their share, but Darui’s bite mark on the little girl’s shoulder couldn’t be healed by the Elixir. However, there were still many dragons that were still injured and couldn’t be given an elixir and were only treated in the usual way.
