Chapter 522: Hard Training (1)

Once Arielle concentrated, the flames appeared and instantly disappeared again. She stayed in the lake long enough that her legs felt stiff. However, Arielle had had a hard time getting what Maxieno wanted.

The sun was getting high, and the scorching sun started to bake her back. Otis, who joined them, wanted Arielle to rest for a while, but Maxieno glanced at him sharply.

"She is the flames. Even if she is roasted, it won’t hurt her," Maxieno said in annoyance. He wanted Otis to get out of here right away.

Arielle shook her head. Her hands were already wrinkled from being underwater for too long. She raised her other hand out of the water so she could concentrate on one hand first. However, when she concentrated on her right hand, it was her left hand that caught on flames, causing Maxieno to hit her head.

"Are you stupid? Who told you to raise one of your hands?!" said Maxieno, telling Arielle to get out of the lake.

Arielle’s left hand was injured again, and the tips of her skin began to peel off.

Otis gasped because he was no longer holding the potion the unicorn had given him. The elixir had been held by Maxieno.

"Give me your hand," Maxieno said.

Arielle stretched out her hand, which felt stinging. Blood began to flow down, and Maxieno took out the Elixir of immortality from the pocket of his robe and dripped one drop on Arielle’s hands. The wounds then disappeared without a trace.

The Elixir of immortality was held by Maxieno. The glass vial was used many times to heal Arielle’s burns. Otis was left speechless because the hard-to-find item was used carelessly by Maxieno.

Actually, Otis didn’t mind at all because Maxieno used it to heal Arielle’s wounds. However, the thing he worried about was that Maxieno kept pushing Arielle to overdo her training until the girl often injured her own body.

After Arielle trained to the point of bleeding, Maxieno would come forward to heal her wounds with the Elixir of immortality. It kept repeating, and now only half the contents of the glass vial were left.

Every day, Arielle did her training from morning to night. She would always come back with clothes covered in blood, but no part of her body was injured. After she arrived at the castle, the girl immediately fell asleep. So, even though she was now a servant of the dragon clan, Arielle had never done her job.

The castle that Arielle had cleaned a few days ago also became dirty again because some dragons played in the castle without thinking about the place Arielle had cleaned.

Arthur was still locked up in the central hall, and he became the subject of ridicule and laughing stock by the dragons. Arielle could only accompany Arthur occasionally every morning while giving him breakfast. The man only ate once a day because Arielle was not there during the day and at night. She was too tired to prepare dinner for Arthur. Arielle even forgot about her dinner.

Abigail was still struggling to hold her eggs in her womb with all her might. Arielle once wanted to peek at Abigail’s condition, but Maxieno reminded her of the time, so she continued on her way to where she trained with Maxieno.

For Ronan, Arielle had not had time to contact her husband again. Every time she tried to open her line of communication with Ronan, Maxieno always interrupted. Then, the man would mess up the contents of her head, making Arielle paranoid, and she didn’t have the courage to open her line of communication again. Arielle hoped that Ronan was and could understand her situation right now.

Days kept changing. Arielle went through practice after practice that felt like the torment in the hell. Ten days had passed, and the vial of Elixir of immortality was only a few more drops before it ran out. Lately, Arielle didn’t get hurt that much anymore.

The heat of the flames increased, and Arielle was more agile in using her power. She didn’t need to concentrate for too long just to open the mana door in her palms. Even though at the beginning, her palms were often torn and her fingertips kept peeling off, with the Elixir of immortality, Arielle always came back with a fine body without a single scratch.

Even though her body was fine, her energy was always drained until on the tenth day, Arielle fell ill. Otis took care of the girl and asked Maxieno to take one day off so that Arielle could rest to regain all her energy again.

However, Arielle rejected Otis’ idea. She shouldn’t be wasting time because Irene’s condition was still unknown. Besides, the full moon would almost come in less than ten days. Arielle had to keep practicing to increase her stamina so she wouldn’t fall sick again in the future.

Maxieno stood with his arms crossed in front of Arielle’s door.

"Should we just give her more Elixir so she can recover quickly and start the training again?" asked Maxieno who was amused at how weak the humans were.

"No, it can’t, Maxieno. We’ve almost used up all the Elixir of immortality. We must use it only for urgent matters only because it is a very valuable item. Arielle will heal tomorrow. Let her rest to recover her energy now," Otis replied while pushing Arielle’s body back to lie down and then adjusting the position of the girl’s blanket.

"Hufft, how weak," Maxieno said, then left Arielle’s room just like that.

Otis put on a wet cloth on Arielle’s forehead.

"You don’t have to worry. Maxieno is just annoyed that today he will be bored."

"Bored?"

"Hm, he likes your spirit, so when you are sick like this, he no longer has a friend to play with."

Arielle smiled faintly. "I feel like a toy."

Otis shook his head. "I’m sure Maxieno has considered you a friend. Several times, I saw him stare at you in awe as you came bleeding towards him. You showed a fighting spirit, and Maxieno respects your efforts. If he doesn’t feel that you are struggling enough, then Maxieno has long been lazing around and looking for excuses not to teach you like the first day," Otis said, making Arielle feel lighter.
