Chapter 509: The Elixir

Otis approached the unicorn man. The man also came closer and then whispered something into Otis’ ear, making him open his mouth wide with wide eyes.

"Wh-who?" asked Otis, still not understanding.

The man laughed at Otis’ surprised expression and put his index finger down to keep a little hint of the future regarding the dragon leader a secret. Otis still hadn’t snapped back from his shock, and the mysterious man had just left. He went back into the forest.

"Sir! Sir!" called Otis who was unable to run fast after the mysterious man with his old legs. The dragons who were in a state of alert earlier turned back into human form.

From within his castle, Maxieno gave orders to two other dragons to follow the man from the unicorn clan earlier. He heard they could make the living beings immortal, and Maxieno also wanted to know where they had been hiding all this time. Then, he glanced at the elixir the unicorn had given him and the black wolf that was about to die in front of him.

"After you use it on the human, I ask for one drop of elixir for the wolf. I want to find out what information the werewolf clan wants by disturbing one of our clan members who was in the spawn period."

Maxieno planned to prepare everything. If the werewolf clan suddenly attacked him, he could easily slaughter them, and if he was lucky enough, he could further expand his territory by controlling the territory of the werewolf clan. After all, their territory was also quite large.

Otis brought the glass vial that the mysterious man had given him. Arielle would be safe by this. The girl’s wounds would heal quickly. Otis was really trying to stop himself from crying because he was so relieved. He had been feeling guilty for letting Arielle out of his protection. Even though he had promised Ronan to always keep Arielle from getting hurt.

Luffy sat alone, waiting for Arielle to come to her senses, but the girl’s injuries were very severe. Even the pure white bandage that had just been changed was stained with blood again, especially on the arm that was bitten by the wolf earlier. Besides, every fingertip of the skin almost peeled off.

Otis gulped down his saliva. He prayed to the Moon Goddess, asking for protection for Arielle. He hoped that the elixir could really heal all of Arielle’s wounds as written in the book.

"Otis, what liquid is that? Why is it silver?" Luffy asked after seeing Otis open a glass vial that had a strange colored liquid.

"This... this is an Elixir of immortality."

Luffy gasped. The Elixir of immortality was a very legendary elixir. It was very famous. He thought it was just the imagination of his great-grandfathers who wrote books about the cure for all diseases and wounds.

"Where did you get it from?" Luffy asked curiously.

"Someone gave it to me. I haven’t even had time to ask anything, but the person who gave it just left," Otis replied. He then took a dropper that had been cleaned from the remaining pain relief potions that the dragons had given to Arielle when they treated the girl earlier.

Otis took the thick, shiny silver liquid using the dropper, then asked for Luffy’s help to open Arielle’s mouth. In accordance with the message from the mysterious man earlier, Otis only gave one drop, then returned the rest to the vial. It was a very valuable elixir, so he couldn’t use it carelessly.

Both Luffy and Otis stood in shock as some of Arielle’s injured parts started to glow. Within seconds, the wounds healed on their own. Otis opened the bandage on Arielle’s arm and blinked to see that the bite wound had healed completely, as the skinless part of Arielle’s fingertips. All of her wounds healed in an instant.

Luffy held Arielle’s hand, which felt very soft.

"This is a miracle! The elixir worked, Otis!" Luffy shouted excitedly.

"Yes! It was exactly what it said in the book! Look, it didn’t seem there are any wounds here!" said a very grateful Otis. The old man then clasped his hands and thanked the Moon Goddess.

"Are you done? Otis, I need that Elixir," said Maxieno who was waiting by the door.

Otis held the elixir in his hand tightly. Then, an annoyed Maxieno snatched the elixir just like that.

"Maxieno! We have to keep the elixir safe! We will use it for very urgent purposes only!" Otis said, trying to remind Maxieno not to be reckless with the item that was impossible for them to get again.

"I know... I know..." Maxieno replied casually.

Otis told Luffy to take care of Arielle again and asked the boy to call him if Arielle had regained consciousness. Luffy gave a thumbs up in understanding. Then, the old man tried to follow in the broad footsteps of Maxieno who had left first.

He found Maxieno in the hall with a wolf chained by its neck. Otis then stood behind Maxieno while trying to give advice not to do anything reckless to the wolf so as not to ignite the wrath of the werewolf clan later.

Maxieno pretended not to listen to the various lines of advice Otis gave. He ordered the two men to open the wolf’s mouth with two long iron. The wolf was dying. Its breath was very heavy, with red eyes that looked empty.

Maxieno used the dropper, and as Otis suggested, he gave one drip of the silver-colored elixir onto the black wolf’s sticking tongue. The reaction that happened to the wolf was the same as what happened to Arielle. The elixir was also beneficial to the wolf.

The dazzling light flashed through every wound on the wolf’s body. All the bleeding wounds were now slowly closing with a new layer of skin. Its black burnt fur had also healed. Everyone in that place gasped to find the wolf shrinking and shrinking then turning into a naked human.

"Eww... human..." said several dragons who were also using their human forms.

Maxieno used his feet to turn the long-haired man’s face. Otis frowned because he didn’t seem to have seen or knew the werewolf, but why did his face feel so familiar?

"Damn it, what is this stupid king doing in my territory?" Maxieno asked, making Otis frown.

"King?" he asked cluelessly.

"Isn’t he woman’s husband?" Maxieno asked Otis, referring to Ronan.

"Who? Arielle?"

"Yeah..."

"He isn’t Ronan," Otis answered.

Maxieno looked puzzled, "Then who the fuck is he?"

Otis frowned, then shook his head. Ronan wasn’t this old because he could see a lot of the man’s jet black hair starting to turn white at the edges. The man also had a lot of wrinkles. Besides, there were no wounds on his face.

Yeah, he definitely not Ronan. An answer suddenly popped into Otis’ head. The man groaned in pain, then slowly opened his eyes. Those red eyes were exactly the same as the ones Ronan had...

"Maxieno, we mustn’t be rash. He’s the descendant of King Theodore, a man cursed by Amadea too," Otis replied while holding Maxieno’s arm.
