Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 281: Lovey-Dovey Couple
The carriage lurched across the cobblestoned streets. The further north they went, the darker the sky they passed. Even though they hadn’t crossed the border yet, the air was starting to feel cold.
They had left the Ambrose residence. Ronan kidnapped Arielle just like that in front of Archie. Without saying a proper farewell, he put Arielle on his horse and left the Ambrose residence.
Lucas, Kael, Tania, and Sasha were waiting on the outskirts of the city. Before Arielle arrived from Archie’s coronation ceremony, they had already left the castle. Ronan, who had retrieved Arielle, immediately followed the others to continue their journey to the North.
Arielle stuck her hand out at the first snowfall after days spent in Nieverdell. The snowflakes fell right on top of her palms.
"You want to join Sasha on the carriage?" asked Ronan from behind her back. Both of them rode the same horse.
Last night, they took the time to rest at an inn considering the condition of Sasha’s body which had not fully recovered. After morning came, they continued their journey.
She shook her head and then clutched the snowflakes melted by her warm body.
"If you’re tired, we can rest."
"I’m fine," Arielle replied.
Ronan purposely unhooked one of his hands from the horse’s reins. He hugged Arielle from behind to glue their bodies together. He buried his face deep in Arielle’s shoulders which were covered in black robes.
"Please, Look at the road," Arielle protested, making Ronan even more aggressive in teasing her.
William, who rode behind the two, stared at them with a strange gaze then averted his eyes. Whereas, Lucas smiled at the loving couple and then chuckled at William’s sour face.
"There will come a time when you will feel the same way, Sir William," Lucas said, making William raise his eyebrows.
"Who are you talking to?" he asked skeptically.
Lucas gave that man a meaningful smile. "I think you will be the next person."
"I? No-no... that seems quite difficult. Maybe in the past, I had many opportunities to meet a lot of women, but because of that crazy man..." pointed William at Ronan using his chin. "....Who kept bombarding me with his tasks, I became skeptical about meeting women again. The chances of Lazarus impregnating someone else’s daughter sound much greater than me meeting a woman."
"What about Lord Kael?" Lucas asked, looking back. Kael, who heard his name was mentioned, turned around to Lucas with a blank stare. William also looked back and shook his head.
"Looks like we’ll have to wait for the apocalypse first for that," he replied with a big smile making Kael frown and had deep wrinkles on his forehead.
Lucas chuckled again. "You are too much. Long before Princess Arielle arrived in the North for the first time, you said that His Majesty would never marry and need a great miracle for His Majesty to fall in love."
"Ah... but that was then. Princess Arielle is an example of a miracle. What kind of man couldn’t fall in love with her? Even Kael felt the same way. She is the exception."
Lucas nodded in agreement. Princess Arielle’s presence was completely different from the women they had ever met. Lucas also had time to meet several women who accompanied his king in the past and Princess Arielle was a totally different type from the man’s previous type.
"Then, we’re just waiting for another miracle to happen for you then," Lucas replied excitedly.
"But when?" William asked with no answer from Lucas.
Arielle, who was listening to their conversation, was embarrassed. Her face felt warm, and Ronan could see the blush on his girl’s cheeks. He chuckled softly then bit her cheek, making Arielle protest.
"Ronan... what are you doing?" asked Arielle while holding her bitten cheek.
"Your cheeks flushed because of another man. I don’t like it."
"That... I just feel embarrassed to hear someone talking about me from behind," whispered Arielle while covering her face with her palms.
"Did you hear their conversation?"
"They were talking loudly, I overheard."
"What part are you embarrassed about? Because you were liked by William, too?"
Arielle immediately waved her hand quickly.
"No!" she cried in annoyance.
Ronan was surprised by Arielle’s high-pitched tone. That man stopped his horse’s steps spontaneously and looked at Arielle who was also staring at him intently. William, Lucas, and Kael also stopped behind, thinking that Arielle would move into the carriage with Tania and Sasha.
Arielle and Ronan were still gazing at each other, Ronan smiled faintly when he saw Arielle’s face slowly but surely turning red from embarrassment. Arielle immediately lowered her head quickly. She admitted her defeat in their face-to-face fight.
"I just felt ... overwhelmed... when William told me I was a miracle to you," she replied sheepishly.
The man’s heart skipped a beat. Seeing Arielle’s shy face made Ronan even happier. He let go of the reins of his horse and hugged Arielle tightly.
"You are the best person I have ever had!" exclaimed the man while rubbing his cheek against the side of Arielle’s face.
"Eh-wait!?"
William and Lucas looked at each other, then let out a long, troubled sigh. It was the first time they had seen Ronan like this. William and Lucas knew best how cruel the man had been in the last few days when Arielle had been in Nieverdell.
He didn’t tolerate any single mistake at all. Ronan was always stern at his work. He didn’t hesitate to punish someone if there was one thing that was not in accordance with his orders.
The existence of Princess Arielle was enough to control the man’s anger. After last night’s full moon, William knew that his king had gone to Nieverdell alone to meet his lover, and luckily after their rendezvous meeting Ronan was able to relax more in his duties the next day.
However, it only lasted for one day because the next day, that man went back to being a workaholic and wouldn’t allow them to rest even once.
William knew well enough that he was restless with Arielle who was not under his direct protection. The only way to keep him from thinking about Arielle was to work like a mad man.
Lucas was also one of the victims of Ronan’s workaholic behavior. So was Kael who was constantly communicating with their spies non-stop just to make sure everything was alright in Nieverdell.
Only Lazarus was able to enjoy his time a bit. While everyone was busy with the Thebis Kingdom meeting to discuss the neutral zone agreement, he had nowhere to go.
Seeing Ronan who never let go of Arielle’s arms, William was happy because after arriving in the North, he could finally rest his body completely.
"When will we continue our journey?" Lucas whispered to William.
William cleared his throat loud enough to give Ronan a code not to slow down their journey. Ronan was ecstatic to be able to hug Arielle again. But William didn’t feel the same way.
However, his soft and fluffy bed was still a long way to go. He wanted to hug his own bed just like Ronan hugged Arielle.
Ronan looked back and gave his men a sharp look. He was not wearing his mask so as not to look too suspicious when passing through the crowd. Therefore, William could see the movement of Ronan’s mouth which was cursing him. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
