Chapter 278: Coronation Day’s Preparation

"Ronan?" called Arielle in a hoarse voice.

"Yes, Love?"

Ronan also lay down, looking at Arielle’s blushing face.

"Are we going to do it?"

Ronan bit his lip to suppress his rebellious desire.

"You want us to do it? Aren’t you tired?"

Ronan was getting ready to take off his pants, but he immediately stopped when he saw Arielle’s breathing slowly becoming calm. Then, the girl closed her eyes.

"I’m tired... but I want to make you happy too," she replied with her eyes closed tightly.

Ronan kissed Arielle’s lips gently.

"You’re exhausted. Take it easy. Just making you relax like this makes me satisfied and happy too. After all, we still have a promise, right?"

"... A promise?" asked Arielle in a half awake state.

Ronan stroked Arielle’s head until the girl fell into her dream. "I’ll hold myself back, until you remember our promise," Ronan whispered to the sleeping Arielle.

Seeing Arielle sleeping soundly, Ronan didn’t know what to do. He had ridden from the North speedily because he missed his lover. William had told him that Arielle would be back after Archie’s coronation was over, but he couldn’t wait any longer.

Arielle looked lovely in the newspaper Lucas sent to him. He had spent the night imagining what if the girl stood beside him on the throne as the Queen Northendell. Just imagining it made the man laugh excitedly in his office, all alone like he had gone crazy.

Seeing the picture also made Ronan realize that he did not have a picture of Arielle. He had a picture of himself painted by her in his room. However, there weren’t any pictures of Arielle’s face in his palace.

Because of the sole reason that he missed the girl and longed to see her, Ronan without thinking left the palace to visit Arielle.

After arriving at the Ambrose Residence, Ronan found Arielle suffering from thinking too hard about her brother’s coronation day. He had calmed her down, fortunately, so the girl could rest her mind.

Ronan tidied up the hair that was on her cheek and temple to her ear. Seeing Arielle sleeping so peacefully made him at ease.

He took off the rest of Arielle’s clothes that were still hanging on her shoulders, then covered the girl’s naked body with a blanket.

After giving Arielle a brief kiss on the forehead, Ronan was going to get some fresh air to calm himself after their steamy session. He walked to the window, and when he just took one step out of the steel he was surprised by the figure of Kael who was staring at him sharply from below.

Ronan jumped from the second floor to the ground and stood opposite Kael.

"What is it?" asked Ronan.

Kael didn’t answer but instead asked, "What are you doing here?"

"Meeting Arielle. I miss her," said Ronan nonchalantly.

After that Kael didn’t answer Ronan’s words. He walked behind his king without much to say. Ronan was the same, letting Kael follow him without asking anything. The night was quite cold, but the presence of the two of them was colder than the night air.

The Ambrose Residence didn’t have a high wall like a palace. The castle was quite old with very minimal guards standing by. Ronan stopped at the entrance he had used to sneak to Arielle’s room earlier.

"Will you visit the princess again?" asked Kael after escorting his king back to the entrance.

"Tomorrow, I will come and escort Arielle myself. I want to go together to Northendell with her."

Kale nodded in understanding. "Why don’t you just rest here with Princess Arielle, Your Majesty?"

Ronan rolled his eyes. That was his intention, spending the night with her. However, if he stayed in Arielle’s room while she was lying without any clothes on her body, that was the toughest test for him. It would only torture him.

He didn’t trust himself to hold his desire for the entire night. If he decided to stay in the same room with her, Ronan would probably force her to make love to him all night long until morning came.

Arielle had an important event tomorrow morning. Appearing in public as a princess was a golden opportunity for her to shine... He wanted to see Arielle shine brightly too.

That was why Ronan gave up on the thought of sleeping with Arielle. He didn’t want to tire Arielle out the next morning. Besides, he had decided not to touch Arielle until she remembered the promise she had made.

"I’ll be waiting for William. He’ll be here to formally pick up Arielle tomorrow," he answered

Ronan took a glance at Kael. "Then how about you? Why are you here?"

"I came here because I am patrolling around this area," he replied. "You told me to look after Princess Arielle, remember?"

"Ah, I see. Then, see you tomorrow!"

Kael saw his king leave so quickly. That man was like the wind. He often appeared in unexpected ways and disappeared in a blink. Kael shrugged his shoulders.

In fact, he had seen the man’s arrival since Ronan climbed the wall and walked over to the third-floor balcony. Kael decided not to greet him when he saw his king enter the princess’s room through the window and continued his night patrol.

Their encounter earlier was also accidental. Kael was alerted by the sound from Arielle’s window and saw Ronan coming out of the same window.

The next morning, the Ambrose Residence was busier than usual. The servants walked quickly to and fro to prepare things for welcoming Prince Archie as the new king of Nieverdell.

Because the coronation was carried out in an emergency, not many guests were invited. Only a few Nieverdell nobles were present. They also did not have time to invite royal families from other kingdoms considering it took a long time to formally give them invitations and for them to travel to Nieverdell.

Arielle had woken up with a refreshed body. Her face looked brighter with a natural blush that adorned her cheeks. Tania also praised how Arielle looked very glowing that day.

After washing her body, Tania helped Arielle to put on her new dress. The dress was exquisite with flower ornaments around the bottom of the dress. Arielle touched the cloth in front of her before she put it on with the help of Tania. It was a dress chosen by Duke Ambrose himself.

However, yesterday, she was sure there were no ornaments on the body part.

"It seems Duke Ambrose ordered additional ornaments," said Tania, voicing Arielle’s curiosity.

"Ah, I see."

"So beautiful right? I’m sure if King Ronan sees you in this dress, he will surely fall in love with you for the second time."

Arielle smiled in response to Tania’s words.

"Could a person fall in love with the same person over and over again?" she asked.

"Of course!" replied Tania with enthusiasm.

Arielle let Tania and several other maids help her to put on the white dress. Looking at her reflection in the mirror, Arielle felt like she became someone else. That girl in the mirror was as pretty as a picture.

She had never worn a dress like this before. That was why she couldn’t trust her eyes. Therefore, she was ecstatic and wanted Ronan to see her in this dress.

That man .... Arielle couldn’t find Ronan when she woke up. Even the bed felt colder which meant he had been gone since the night. Arielle also didn’t have a chance to ask anyone. It would be very weird to ask Tania about Ronan’s whereabouts. The old lady didn’t even know that the man had come to visit her last night.

Arielle’s heart was pounding enthusiastically when a maid brought her new crown. The golden crown looked magnificent on Arielle’s head, fitted perfectly with her platinum white hair. The gold color helped her appearance to shine even more brightly.

All the maids who were looking at Arielle, including Tania, gasped in admiration.

For the final touch, Tania put on a blue shawl on her left shoulder to match Archie’s robe, a sign of the Nieverdell royal family. After nineteen years, this was the first day Arielle really looked like a princess.

Tania took out a handkerchief and wiped the tears from her eyes. She was very touched and also proud to see Arielle like this. There was no need to doubt it, Arielle was suitable to stand as queen in the future, thought Tania.
