Chapter 251: What Happened To Sasha

Archie carried an oil lamp and a large bag in his hand. The orange glow emanating from the lamp was enough to allow him to see some of the stairs, which were starting to crumble.

Now he was in an old abandoned tower behind the palace. This tower was once intended as a guard post, complete with a large bell on the tower to signal the entire palace.

However, Nieverdell had not been in conflict for a long time. Over time the tower was abandoned, and guards were spread around the palace walls. A few dozen years ago, the bell at the top of the tower collapsed and since then, this tower had not been used anymore.

Of course, Arielle would never find her maid there. Many myths about ghosts roamed here. The girl couldn’t possibly think of looking here.

Archie reached the top of the tower and saw an unconscious child there. He placed his incandescent lamp near Sasha and checked the boy’s pulse. He then breathed a sigh of relief when he could still feel Sasha’s pulse even though it was very weak.

He checked Sasha’s clothes, which were still intact, meaning that the child had not been sexually harassed. Only the hem of his dress was dirty with mud and dust. Archie checked Sasha’s face and there were some bruises on it. The corner of his lips was bleeding.

The man immediately opened his bag and took out some alcohol, wound salve, and a clean cloth. He couldn’t put a bandage on the side of Sasha’s wound because it would make Andrea suspicious if she found out someone was treating Sasha’s wounds.

Slowly, Archie cleaned Sasha’s wound and applied salve to it. He took off his jacket and covered Sasha, who was still unconscious. Then he walked briefly to the tower window, which had no glass.

The night wind was really cold, especially at a high place like this. The wind would blow harder. He saw the palace view in front of him. Archie would go to the port tomorrow. No one could keep Sasha out of Andrea’s hands.

Should he ask Alexis for help? Ahh... no. Archie shook his head. Alexis would return Sasha to Arielle and confront Andrea. It would only make Andrea more irritated, and she could even do something more extreme.

They only had two Northern spies left in the palace. One guarded the gate to check people going in and out of the palace, and the other served as a guard in the inner palace to convey secret messages.

If Archie told Arielle about Sasha’s location, his little sister would not let Sasha suffer like this.

Then... who?

Hm... his father? Archie chuckled, then shook his head. Archie should probably just tell Arielle that she didn’t have to worry about Sasha.

He hoped Arielle would understand what he was doing by leaving Sasha here. It was better than bringing him back. They couldn’t let Andrea do something even worse.

Archie came down from the window and sat leaning against the tower wall. He needed rest because tomorrow they had to prepare everything. He wanted to prove to Ronan that he could be trusted and was more worthy of being a king than Alexis.

Alexis ignored Andrea’s threat. He didn’t even heed his mother’s call to explain what Arielle meant by saying that she would not marry Duke Pellington. Now Queen Rosalie was shocked to see Duke Pellington, who was annoyed with Arielle and Alexis’ attitude.

"What is this? I didn’t spend a lot of money being turned down like this," Duke Pellington told Queen Rosalie.

"Of course not, Duke Pellington. Maybe Arielle was just a little annoyed and didn’t mean to say such a thing. Arielle will marry you no matter what," said Queen Rosalie, who then led Duke Pellington in another direction.

The woman turned to Andrea with glaring eyes, motioning her to silence Arielle and not say much.

Alexis also mobilized all the guards to check the servants’ room for evidence as his father said, an apron with red stains on it. Before a guard checked her room, Olin had managed to throw her apron in the kitchen fireplace.

With a pounding heart, she watched her room being ruffled. This reminded her of what she did this afternoon in Arielle’s room. She couldn’t speak because she was just following Andrea’s orders.

Andrea, annoyed that she didn’t find Arielle in her room, told Olin to mess up the girl’s room. Olin accidentally spilled several glass jars containing Frostberry jam from Arielle’s cupboard, causing the red thick liquid to stain her apron.

Andrea accused Arielle of stealing the jams from the kitchen. Olin didn’t tell her that the jams were brought by Arielle from the North. She also let Andrea vent her frustration on Arielle. Both of them accidentally saw a set of jewelry hidden under a pile of clothes. Annalise, who just joined, suddenly claimed that it was her long-lost jewelry set, months ago.

Olin felt guilty because she was the culprit. After that, while Olin was resting in the kitchen, Andrea and Annalise calmed themselves down with a cup of tea in the garden with Queen Rosalie.

Suddenly Sasha came accusing her. Olin, who panicked, tried to chase after Sasha until she got him. Sasha had met King Hugo and Duke Pellington and hid in an abandoned tower.

Andrea’s bodyguards found him, dragging Arielle’s little servant to the top floor. Andrea, who really hated Arielle, expresses her hatred toward Sasha. Olin had to close her eyes, unable to see the little servant being slapped and kicked many times by Andrea.

Sasha had a strong spirit. He even spat at Princess Andrea. With shaking hands, Olin took a small rattan when ordered by Andrea. The princess started beating Sasha’s legs until he fainted.

"Is this going to be all right, Your Highness?" Olin asked Andrea at the time.

"As long as you keep quiet, everything will be fine," Andrea’s answer made Olin feel more relieved.

As they left the tower, the two passed Duke Pellington. Andrea told Olin to go. She woman didn’t know what the two were talking about because when she turned around, Andrea invited Duke Pellington to enter the tower.

The guard who checked did not find the apron in question. Olin fell on her bed with weak legs. Her roommate immediately massaged Olin’s shoulders to relax from the tension just now.
