Chapter 249: Arielle Is Worried

"Sorry to interrupt the time. I-I.." Arielle muttered.

Duke Pellington put his hands behind Arielle’s back and then invited the girl to go in.

"You look confused, Princess. Let’s enjoy some time together and relax for a bit."

An uneasy Arielle tried to free from Duke Pellington’s hand as politely as possible.

"I-I just wanted to ask, have you guys seen Sasha?" asked Arielle, who was looking for an excuse.

"Sasha? That little maid of yours?" asked Alexis, who was at the end of the room, standing alone.

Archie, who just joined, was surprised to see Arielle in the hall with the others. He took a seat beside Andrea and saw Arielle, who was sweating.

"What happened?" Archie asked, whispering to Andrea. The woman shrugged her shoulders.

Alexis walked across the room to get closer to Arielle. "Why are you looking here? Aren’t you two always together all the time?" the man asked, making Arielle feel intimidated.

"I... haven’t seen him since this morning."

Arielle watched her siblings one by one. They still watched her made Arielle uncomfortable. Duke Pellington touched Alexis’ arm keeping the man away from Arielle.

"Don’t ask all kinds of questions. Princess Arielle, please rest first with us, I will call my bodyguard to look for your servant."

Arielle felt like asking here would be pointless. It was better for Arielle to just ask the maid here. If her sibling was partying here, then there would be a few on duty servants in the other room.

Arielle looked back at Duke Pellington.

"Thanks for the offer. But I will find her myself," said the girl quietly.

Arielle immediately turned to leave the hall. Alexis also turned to look at his siblings one by one. His eyes fell on his mother, Queen Rosalie, who was sitting while joking with Annalize while swinging her fan in a graceful motion.

Alexis also left the hall to follow Arielle. Inside the hall, Duke Pellington just smiled awkwardly and returned to his original place. Queen Rosalie held the man’s shoulder lightly.

"Arielle is still clumsy," said Queen Rosalie, trying to comfort Duke Pellington.

Archie, who still didn’t understand what had happened, nudged Andrea to ask her to tell him.

"What’s really going on?"

Andrea sighed and then drank her wine slowly.

"I just wanted to teach a few people a lesson," the woman replied casually. Archie raised an eyebrow and smiled crookedly.

"Oh... is this your form of revenge because father forbade you to touch Arielle?"

Andrea nodded slowly. "If I can’t hurt Arielle, then I’ll find another way to do it indirectly. And I will use that child to make Arielle suffer."

Archie nodded solemnly, pretending to agree with Andrea’s actions just now.

"You didn’t kill him, did you? Sister, you know it is my duty. I don’t want you to get your hands dirty with the blood of a country bumpkin like that little maid."

Andrea chuckled and lightly patted Archie’s cheek. "Of course not, idiot. I kept her in the east tower."

"Oh... what a great idea," said Archie. "There may be a lot of rats and snakes there. You really are my sister."

"Does Alexis know?"

"If Alexis knew, he would have brought Arielle to accompany her a long time ago. You know, Arielle has become that guy’s obsession lately," Andrea answered in a half-whisper because she didn’t want anyone to hear their conversation.

"Who else knows this fact?"

"I, Annalise, a maid named Olin, and Duke Pellington."

"Huh? That guy too?" asked Archie, who was surprised to hear Duke Pellington’s name even though he looked sincerely wanted to help Arielle earlier.

Andrea hit Archie’s mouth with the tip of the fan softly to lower his voice again.

"As a last resort if Arielle doesn’t want to come with him back to his castle."

Archie grabbed a drink from the table. He smiled at Queen Rosalie, who was also smiling at him. He noticed the rest of his family seemed relaxed and enjoying their time. His sharp eyes caught the red glow from Annelise’s neck.

"Andrea, is the necklace that Annalise is wearing new? I think I just saw it," pointed Archie at Annalise’s neck.

"I gave it to her," Andrea replied casually.

"When did you buy new jewellery?"

"I found it. I thought it was Arielle’s. But Annalise said it was a set of jewellery she lost a few months ago. Arielle stole the jewelry from Annelise. If it wasn’t for my father’s prohibition not to touch Arielle until she has married Duke Pellington, I would have broken both of her hands."

Archie chuckled in response to Andrea’s annoyance just now. When Andrea asked what was funny, Archie reasoned that Andrea’s face was very cute when she was annoyed. The woman who always looked calm in public turned out to have a fiery spirit when only with her family.

Archie turned to Annalise once again to make sure that the necklace she was wearing was the same necklace that Archie had seen around Arielle’s neck. The necklace looked perfect with the ruby pendant earrings that hang beautifully on Annalise’s ears. But Archie didn’t see the earrings on Arielle.

He just knew Arielle couldn’t possibly steal. With just one look, Archie immediately could tell that the jewelry was a gift from King Ronan. Annalise only falsely confessed and Andrea, who was blinded by her hatred for Arielle, believed more in Annalise’s story.

"I’m getting bored here. I want to see how the little maid is doing first," Archie said as he stretched.

"What do you want?"

Archie smiled widely, which made Andrea immediately know the man’s intentions.

"Just tease her a little," Archie replied curtly.

Andrea smiled hearing that. She knew Archie loved torturing people and she was happy to think about how much that little maid would suffer under him.

Arielle met the maids who she had not seen for a long time. They were gathered, waiting for a call from her siblings. Arielle looked for Olin and saw the woman standing at the end of the door.

"Olin!" Arielle called, making all the eyes of the maids in the room turn to her.

Arielle couldn’t stand it when everyone looked at her. The girl then passed many other servants to get closer to Olin.

"Have you seen Sasha?" asked Arielle a little hastily.

Olin frowned and shook her head slowly.

"Perhaps you saw her or heard her voice?"

"No, Princess. We have been very busy since this afternoon." Olin answered while avoiding Arielle’s eyes.

Arielle also asked all the maids in the room one by one, but the answers she got were almost the same. They didn’t see Sasha that day. Arielle then left the room disappointed.
