Love You for the Rest of My Life-Chapter 70: Why Should She Bear the Burden?
Bo Chenghe was also a bit embarrassed, but this time, Bo Chengxin really went too far. He was angry after listening to Nangong Ran’s story today. Nonetheless, Bo Chengxin was still his sister, even if she was adopted, she was raised in the Bo family since she was a child.
"Have you talked to Di Mingjue about this?" Bo Chenghe turned towards Nangong Ran.
"I haven’t had a chance to talk to him yet," replied Nangong Ran.
"I already talked to her," Gu Qibao interjected, her expression looking not too good.
"You told him?" Nangong Ran got excited and hastily asked, "What did the Duke say? Is he going to confront Bo Chengxin?"
"No." Gu Qibao shook her head, looking a bit desolate, "He didn’t say anything."
"You’re kidding!" Nangong Ran was astonished, "This doesn’t sound like the Duke’s style. Wait, I’m going to call him."
"Don’t." Gu Qibao stopped Nangong Ran, "The incident has already happened, let’s just see what happens."
In the end, Nangong Ran nodded in agreement and didn’t mention it again.
After lunch with Gu Qibao, Nangong Ran excused himself saying he had some matters to attend to and left.
Gu Qibao couldn’t be bothered with him anymore, she was constantly worried about whether or not she was pregnant.
She was only nineteen, she really didn’t want to have a child.
Remembering Di Mingjue’s outrageous behavior that morning, with no consideration for the potential consequences, made Gu Qibao grind her teeth in resentment.
She suddenly felt stifled and distressed, she fished out her phone and sent a message to Di Mingjue, "Di Mingjue, I never want to speak to you again! Stay as far away from me as possible!"
After she sent the message she regretted it. With Di Mingjue’s temper, she might get into trouble again that night.
When Di Mingjue received the message, he was in a meeting, his face immediately turned cold upon reading the contents.
The sound of his phone being slammed onto the meeting table echoed loudly in the room.
The manager giving the presentation was so startled that he almost lost his footing and ended up crouching under the table.
Everyone in the meeting room cowered in fear. Di Mingjue’s temper was notorious. Who could have angered him to such an extent?
"Pre... President..." The manager’s legs turned weak in fear.
The phone suddenly started ringing. Di Mingjue grabbed it and answered curtly, "Gu Xiaoqi, come over immediately."
However, the voice on the other side was not Gu Xiaoqi’s, but Nangong Ran’s.
Nangong Ran said, "Duke, I have something to talk with you about Gu Xiaoqi, can I come up? I am currently at your office building."
"Come up." Di Mingjue responded coldly, hung up the phone, and flung it back onto the table again, growling, "Meeting adjourned!"
When Nangong Ran entered, Di Mingjue’s face was frighteningly cold. Nangong Ran was slightly afraid, he sat down nervously, and before he had a chance to speak, Di Mingjue said, "You’d better make sure that every word you say isn’t nonsense. What happened with Gu Xiaoqi?"
With this question, Nangong Ran’s words began to pour out.
"Duke, as you know, this whole thing is my fault. It doesn’t have anything to do with Gu Xiaoqi. She is the one who suffered the most. But everyone blames her, making her bear all the responsibilities. Everybody bullies her. Is this really fair?"
Di Mingjue was silent for a long time, then lifted his icy gaze, "You’re talking about Bo Chengxin?"
"Yes." Nangong Ran nodded, "I don’t care what’s going on between you and Bo Chengxin
but she keeps bothering Gu Xiaoqi. Since you’ve decided to be with Gu Xiaoqi, shouldn’t you handle this situation?"
"It’s not your place to tell me what to do. Speak, how did Bo Chengxin treat Gu Xiaoqi yesterday?" Di Mingjue’s eyes turned icy cold, sending shivers down Nangong Ran’s spine.
