Love You for the Rest of My Life-Chapter 57 Gu Qibao, You Have Found a Treasure
What is Gu Qibao doing? Why is her voice so hoarse?
Has she been crying, or is it something else? 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
He couldn’t imagine what would make Gu Qibao cry to the point of losing her voice.
Was it because of him?
Because he bullied her? No, she’s been alright these past few days.
Di Mingjue realized his thoughts were in disarray, caused by Gu Qibao.
He desperately wanted to know what had happened to Gu Qibao, what she was doing, and why her voice had turned so hoarse.
Anxious waiting became unbearable, so he rose abruptly, kicking over the tea table in front of him, and strode out.
Soon he received a message from Nangong Ran, telling him that Gu Qibao was at a small motel.
A motel? It seemed very unlike her status.
After receiving the message, he immediately rushed over, his face cold enough to freeze someone at the sight of that small motel.
He kicked open the door of Gu Qibao’s room, which was pitch dark inside.
"Who?" Gu Qibao’s voice was full of fear.
Di Mingjue’s suspended heart suddenly plummeted. He turned on the light.
Gu Qibao’s vision was a little blurry, but as she adjusted, she couldn’t help but be taken aback. The man’s handsome face under the dim light shone with an astonishing beauty, like a god illuminated by rosy clouds.
Unfortunately, that man was Di Mingjue.
He looked awful. Gu Qibao instinctively shrank back, "Don’t come any closer!"
"What are you doing in a place like this?" Di Mingjue walked towards her, refusing to sit on the bed, but his voice softened significantly.
Maybe it was because of his slightly warmer voice that Gu Qibao was less tense.
She shook her head in confusion, whispering, "I wanted to be alone for a bit."
"Are you stupid?" He scooped her up from the bed, a look of distaste on his face. "People don’t stay in places like this. Can’t afford a hotel? If not, you can buy a fully fitted house at the very least. Gu Qibao, you’re really a mess."
Did he mean to give her money?
Gu Qibao found she had no words to refute him.
"Yes, I am a mess." She laughed bitterly at herself.
"Who told you that!" The man flared up immediately. "At least you’ve hung onto me, so that proves you’re doing well."
Somehow, Gu Qibao found his words amusing. Who was the real idiot here? He was the one who said she was a mess in the first place.
For the first time, she realized that Di Mingjue was as childish as a kid.
"Are you laughing?" He looked at her, his lips curving up slightly into a smile, and he kissed her on the forehead. "Good girl, let’s go home."
The single sentence nearly moved Gu Qibao to tears. She was actually moved by Di Mingjue.
Wasn’t it a bit illogical?
Was he having a nervous breakdown or just going crazy? Had he actually become gentle?
Please excuse her inability to accept his drastic change. She couldn’t help but ask, "Di Mingjue, have you lost your mind?"
"Hmm." Surprisingly, Di Mingjue didn’t argue back but agreed with a low hum.
Gu Qibao was taken aback. What was going on here?
He took her back to his home, a luxurious villa reminding anyone of staggering wealth.
"Why are your eyes so swollen?" Once he settled her on the sofa, he took a good look at her, only to frown in distaste, "You look so ugly."
Just a moment ago, Gu Qibao was a tad moved; at his next words, she completely revived.
"As if you’re any better!" Gu Qibao retorted.
"Of course, I’m not ugly." He looked arrogantly proud like a peacock, sitting next to her, "Gu Qibao, you’ve hit the jackpot. You should be over the moon."
Gu Qibao: "..."
Boasting doesn’t cost a dime, does it?
