Love You for the Rest of My Life-Chapter 1489: You’re Not Qualified Enough
"It’s not that I look down on you—you’re just not qualified!"
Nangong Jin’s voice was laced with hostility as he glared viciously at Old Miao. "Do you really think you can threaten me like this?" Nangong Jin arched an eyebrow. "Let me tell you, if you don’t talk, every single one of your clan will die a miserable death, one by one. Don’t think that just because my wife has been cursed with Gu poison, I have no way out. Worst case, I’ll die with her. Old Miao, I’m warning you—you’ve messed with the wrong person. I’ve always had a spine of steel, and if there’s one thing I can’t stand, it’s being threatened, especially repeatedly. Now, I’ll ask you one last time: will you talk, or not?"
Old Miao didn’t respond, panting heavily from the pain.
Nangong Jin’s eyes turned icy. "Fine. Let’s see just how long you can hold out."
At that moment, Xiaowu’s phone began to ring. Nangong Jin took a long drag from his cigarette, then nodded, signaling Xiaowu to answer it.
The video call connected quickly. The drug lord’s methods were nothing if not reliable. Filmed right from Nangong Jin’s own dungeon, the video clearly showed the situation of the Miao Family clan.
One after another, they were bound tightly with ropes, weeping and wailing, screaming, "Spare us, Lord Jin! Please, have mercy! This has nothing to do with us! Spare us!"
Nangong Jin sneered coldly. It seemed that even if Old Miao refused to speak, someone else would. After all, people were terrified of death. And not everyone in this group was part of Old Miao’s immediate family—there were extended relatives here too, ones who certainly didn’t want to be drawn into this mess.
With a wave of his hand, Nangong Jin silenced them immediately. He then asked, "How do you undo the Yin Gu poison? Whoever tells me, I’ll let them go."
But on the other end of the video, there was immediate silence. They exchanged looks, their faces filled with confusion and ignorance.
Nangong Jin’s brow furrowed instantly.
"We don’t know," someone finally stammered. "Only the old Clan Leader knows how to deal with a curse like this."
So that’s how it was. Nangong Jin raised an eyebrow and immediately turned his gaze back to Old Miao. "I’ll count to three. If you don’t tell me when I finish, I’ll start killing. Your grandson will be the first to die."
"One." Nangong Jin’s icy voice cut through the air.
On the other end of the video, a frail man cried out in terror, "Lord Jin! Please, no! Grandpa, please tell him! It’s not worth sacrificing everyone’s lives for Miao Wu!"
Old Miao faltered. He understood the gravity of the situation all too well. Nangong Jin might appear approachable, but deep down, he was unyielding and ruthless.
"Two." Nangong Jin remained unmoved.
"Grandpa!" The frail man’s voice grew even more terrified, his struggles more desperate. Deathly afraid, he wailed for his life.
"I’ll talk, but you must let us go!" Old Miao raised his eyes to meet Nangong Jin’s.
"You’re in no position to negotiate with me," Nangong Jin responded coldly. "You’ve made me angry, and that’s your biggest mistake. If you don’t talk by the next count, I’ll take out one of his eyes first, then hack off both his legs. After that, I’ll slice open his abdomen and pull out part of his internal organs. He’ll remain alive, but life will become a fate worse than death."
Though his tone was calm, even casual, Old Miao shivered involuntarily. A chilling terror rose from the depths of his heart. This man—he was not bluffing. He meant every word.
"Grandpa, Grandpa, I don’t want this! Save me, save me!" Hearing Nangong Jin’s words, the frail man became utterly hysterical. He fell to his knees, trembling uncontrollably, practically on the verge of madness.
