Chapter 1453: Chapter 1453: Wife, Husband is Back

The chauffeur glanced at his strikingly handsome face through the rearview mirror, as well as that enticingly sexy way he smoked. There was no helping it. This man exuded an aura of nobility from head to toe, making it impossible to doubt anything he said.

But the chauffeur had absolutely zero interest in chatting with him. Seriously!

And yet, there he was, lazily continuing to prattle on, "Hey, what’s the top speed of this car?"

The chauffeur wore a proud face, very much wanting to retort arrogantly: I won’t tell you.

Yet, Nangong Jin possessed a certain charisma that compelled submission, even if, at the moment, he radiated lethargy and posed no real threat.

"Two hundred and eighty," the chauffeur replied grudgingly, feeling as though he’d just taken ten thousand critical hits to the heart. If someone didn’t even know the top speed of a typical car, it clearly meant they’d never driven a vehicle like this.

Or even touched one.

"Oh, that’s not bad." Nangong Jin nodded. "In that case, feel free to hit two-eighty. If you run a red light, I’ll take responsibility."

Chauffeur: "..."

If you don’t care about living, I still want to live, okay? Sob sob sob. Driving a lunatic around in the dead of night is truly exhausting.

And so, our haughty Jin-master spent the entire ride nagging about how slow the chauffeur was driving, to the point that the chauffeur was on the verge of tears. By the time they reached the gates of the Di Family mansion, the chauffeur didn’t even feel like taking any money.

Taking one look at the grandeur and magnificence of the Di mansion, the chauffeur suddenly felt like dying a little inside.

Nangong Jin got out of the car in a manner almost ostentatious, casually handing over all the small bills in his wallet to the chauffeur. Of course, by "small bills," he meant hundred-yuan notes. To him, they were truly just pocket change.

He didn’t even check how many notes he gave; he handed them all over. After all, he had criticized and mocked the chauffeur the entire trip, so this should count as emotional compensation.

Our Jin-master, honest and straightforward as ever.

The chauffeur, upon receiving a handful of cash, immediately lit up in smiles. All the grievances from earlier vanished into thin air. Knowing that this was clearly an important figure, he couldn’t resist asking, "Sir, do you live here?"

Hearing this, Nangong Jin raised an eyebrow and replied with pride, "My wife lives here."

With that, he strutted off with flair.

The chauffeur blinked. What the—so he’s just a kept man?

Of course, our adorable Jin-master had no idea someone had just looked down on him. In fact, he was in such a fantastic mood that he swaggered straight into the Di mansion.

He was in such high spirits that he even lingered at the entrance to smoke a cigarette.

This left the night guards utterly baffled. After all, Nangong Jin had sneaked out earlier by climbing over the wall. Now, not only did he appear suddenly at the front entrance, but he even handed out cigarettes to the guards and cheerfully told them, "Thanks for your hard work."

Seeing his exuberant demeanor, the guards were thoroughly dumbfounded, completely at a loss.

They could only think: Jin-master’s vibe is just so... flamboyant!

Amid the onlookers’ bewildered stares, he swaggered back to his own side, discreetly returned the guard’s gun he had borrowed, and then proceeded to climb back through a window.

With nimble agility, he scaled the wall and entered through the second-floor window of Di Jinxuan’s room. There, he saw Jinxuan lying on her side with her back to the window. He couldn’t tell if she was awake or asleep.

Before he knew it, his movements and voice softened, as if he were sneaking around like a thief, afraid to disturb Di Jinxuan.

Stealthily, he slipped through the window into the room, quietly shut the window, and removed his jacket and shoes.

He swiftly yet gently slid under the blanket, wrapping his arms around Di Jinxuan from behind. In an instant, all the emotions brewing within him seemed to ease. He held her tightly, murmuring in a low voice, "Wife, your husband’s back. Did you miss me?"
