Love Strategy: CEO He is Really Scheming!-Chapter 885: I Heard You’re Getting Married
"Okay." Daisy Grant nodded.
Daisy Grant found a sweater from Dawn Sutherland’s wardrobe, measured its length, and took it into the bathroom.
After taking a shower, Daisy Grant hung her clothes on a hanger to dry and walked out.
Just as she left, Dawn Sutherland walked toward the dining table, holding two bowls of noodles, and called out to her, "Come over and have a bowl of noodles."
Daisy Grant’s gaze fell on the pile of scattered documents on the coffee table. Her eyes deepened as she walked to the dining table and sat opposite Dawn Sutherland.
"Second Brother, did you skip dinner? Were you handling files when Donna called you?"
Dawn Sutherland responded with a hum, "Let’s eat a bit together, then rest well. Don’t think about anything."
"Okay." Daisy Grant smiled, picked up her chopsticks, and began to eat the noodles.
Though the noodles were bland, they made Daisy Grant feel warm and happy, chasing away the cold she’d felt in the snow.
The two ate the noodles quietly.
The air conditioning temperature was set a bit high. Dawn Sutherland, wearing a shirt, sat on the sofa reviewing documents, his sleeves casually rolled up, revealing his fair, slender arms. Immersed in work, he looked as serene as a painting. Daisy Grant walked over and sat on the sofa beside him.
"Second Brother, do you need my help?"
Dawn Sutherland shook his head and looked at Daisy Grant. She wore his sweater, its length just covering her fair and straight thighs, her chestnut curls cascading over her shoulders. Her delicate and beautiful features, with a slight smile at the corner of her mouth, unintentionally tugged at the strings of his heart.
Dawn Sutherland felt a slight increase in his body temperature and an inexplicable warmth all over.
"No need, I’ve almost finished." Dawn Sutherland adjusted himself, leaning back against the sofa, trying to keep some distance from her to restrain himself.
Daisy Grant nodded and picked up her water cup to take a sip.
"Daisy—" Dawn Sutherland called out in a low voice.
"What is it, Second Brother?" Daisy Grant asked, her gaze falling toward Dawn Sutherland as she held her water cup.
Dawn Sutherland pursed his lips, "I still want to say, don’t be foolish. Don’t give up what you have now for that man."
Aidan Sutherland might be a bit of a jerk, but at least by marrying him, Daisy’s family is a good match, at least she won’t have to struggle.
"If he doesn’t take responsibility for you, what will you do with the rest of your life? Live with a bad reputation for life? If you have this child, it will only be a burden, you know that?"
Daisy Grant’s fingers stiffened a bit. She looked down at her water in the cup, let out a bitter smile, and said in a low voice, "So even you tell me to accept my fate, to give up my child, to choose someone I don’t love."
"What did you say?" Dawn Sutherland frowned slightly and asked.
Daisy’s voice was a bit soft, so he didn’t hear it clearly.
Daisy Grant looked up slowly, shaking her head, "I just want to ask you, Second Brother, between someone you love and someone who matches well with you but whom you don’t love, how would you choose? This problem, which has troubled so many people, leaves me so bitter and speechless."
Dawn Sutherland leaned back on the sofa, his gaze deep and unfathomable.
After a moment of silence, Dawn Sutherland pursed his lips and said in a low voice, "Many people want to choose the one they love, but in the end, reality forces them to bow and choose someone who is well-matched and timely for marriage."
Isn’t that what he did? He gave up his life’s love and accepted Evalian Chapman.
Daisy Grant looked at Dawn Sutherland’s peaceful face, her gaze shifting subtly, "Second Brother, I heard you’re going to marry Evalian Chapman, is that true?"
Dawn Sutherland faltered slightly, "Yes, in a few days we’ll get our marriage certificate, and we’ll hold the wedding next year."
Daisy Grant’s fingers tightened one by one around her water cup, her knuckles turning white.
