LOVE IN PARIS: Married To My Brother-in-law-Chapter 97: Yvette? II
After tucking her comfortably into bed, he returned to the balcony to clear away the remnants of their dinner, the candles now burning low. He moved with quiet efficiency, his thoughts occupied with the changes ahead.
After that, he headed to the bedroom and began helping Yvette to pack her luggage for the weeks ahead.
He neatly folded her clothes, carefully arranging her belongings with the same attention to detail he applied to everything in his life.
As he worked, his mind wandered to the times they had spent together, the shared moments of joy and hardship that had strengthened their bond and bow that she was leaving, he suddenly felt sad .
When he finally crawled into bed beside her, Yvette instinctively rolled into his arms, mumbling in her sleep. "Where were you?"
Zeke brushed a strand of hair from her face, his voice a soothing murmur. "I was just cleaning up and helping you with your luggage."
Yvette’s eyes fluttered open for a moment, a sleepy smile on her lips as she mumbled. "Thank you,"
"Shh," Zeke replied, kissing her forehead lightly. "Go back to sleep."
"I’m so tired," She murmured, snuggling closer. "But I’m happy I have you. Sometimes I feel like I make you do all the work, and I’m always leaving you to go and work."
Zeke tightened his hold on her, his voice filled with quiet reassurance. "I’m happy that you’re growing into the best version of yourself. We’re doing this together, and that makes me very happy."
Yvette then sighed contentedly. "One day, I’ll be able to stand with you side by side."
Zeke smiled, watching as she drifted back into sleep. "I know you will". He whispered, feeling a sense of peace wash over him.
As he lay there, listening to the steady rhythm of her breathing, he himself soon joined her in a deep slumber.
The sun had barely risen when Zeke and Yvette found themselves in a lingering embrace by his car.
The crisp morning air carried a subtle chill, but neither seemed to notice. Yvette rested her head against his chest, listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat as if memorizing it for the weeks they would be apart.
"I don’t want to let go,". Zeke murmured, his voice thick with emotion as his hands tightened around her waist.
"You’re making this harder than it already is for me". Yvette replied softly, her voice tinged with both affection and sadness. "I’ll call you every night, okay and also message you at any chance I get?"
Zeke sighed, reluctantly stepping back but keeping her hands in his. "Promise me you’ll take care of yourself. Don’t overwork, and if anything bothers you, tell me immediately."
Yvette chuckled, leaning in to kiss him on the cheek. "You worry too much. I’ll be fine."
He smiled at her, though the sadness in his eyes betrayed him.
Moments later, they arrived at the shared cast house where all the casts would be living in for the duration of the shoot.
Yvette and Zeke stood by his car, their fingers interlaced as if they were drawing strength from each other for the impending separation.
The screenwriter, an old friend of Zeke greeted them warmly at the gate.
"Hey, I never knew you were this vlingy!" Mr. Dan called out, his grin wide. "You’re finally letting her go, huh?"
Zeke turned to Dan a tall man with a graying beard and a warm, reassuring smile. "Dan, I’m counting on you to take care of her. Don’t let her overwork herself or skip meals." His voice carried a mixture of humor and genuine concern as he addressed Dan on her health and work schedule.
Screenwriter Dan chuckled, holding up his hands in mock surrender. "Relax, guy. She’s like family to me too. I won’t maltreat your wife in any way, okay?."
Yvette standing between the two men laughed softly, her cheeks tinged pink. "I’m right here, you know. Stop talking about me like I’m a child."
Zeke ignored her, leaning closer to his pal. "And if anyone bothers her—"
Dan interrupted with a dramatic sigh. "I’ll deal with them before you even find out, Mr. Overprotective Husband. Now go, or she’ll never settle in at this point."
Zeke nodded in realization and turned to Yvette, his expression softening. "I’ll miss you."
"I’ll miss you too," She whispered back in an equally soft tone filled with love. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
Unable to help himself, he pulled her into a lingering embrace, their foreheads touching as he murmured, "Take care of yourself, okay?"
"I will". Yvette smiled and promised, her eyes glistening.
Their goodbye kiss stretched longer than expected, making Dan immediately clear his throat loudly and look away. "Alright, lovebirds, let’s not give the cast a free romance show or . . !"
Yvette giggled, giving Zeke a final wave as he climbed into the car and drove off, his gaze lingering on her in the rearview mirror until she disappeared from sight.
The set buzzed with activity under the midday sun. Crew members shouted instructions, actors rehearsed lines, and large equipment was being wheeled into position.
Yvette strolled onto the grounds, her transformation complete this time, she wasn’t wearing the long wig she’d been wearing since after she’d cut her hair short, it was just her short jet black hair, styled in curly waves.
She wore a loose white tunic tucked into a baggy trousers and her posture, walk, and even the confident way she carried herself screamed "charming young man."
Her disguise was flawless. And as she walked past, heads turned, whispers rising among the cast and crew.
"Who’s that handsome, cool guy ?" . A makeup artist murmured to her colleague.
"Must be a new actor," Another replied, her eyes following Yvette’s every move. "So handsome! I didn’t know we had someone like him joining us. Was thins suppose to be a surprise."
Yvette suppressed a smile, aware of the growing attention. She kept her stride steady, her expression cool and aloof as she found a quiet corner to settle and text her dearest.
Her phone buzzed, and she quickly replied to Zeke’s message: Miss you already. Everyone here thinks I’m actually a boy and its just so funny, I’m trying so hard not to roll off on the floor.
And Zeke’s response came almost instantly: Of course they do. You’ve always been good at stealing the show. Try not to break too many hearts and add more rivals to my worries.
Yvette chuckled at his teasing, oblivious to the small group of young women approaching her, their faces bright with curiosity and excitement.
"Hi!" One of them said, holding out a steaming cup of coffee. "We thought you might need this. You’ve been working so hard."
Yvette blinked, lost for words and momentarily startled, before realizing their mistake but she could not blame them, even she herself almost mistook herself for a guy as she looked at herself in the mirror before she left the mansion and when Zeke saw her appearance through the video call, he was stunned and even called her "bro" which made her burst into a bout of laughter.
Not wanting to blow her cover yet, she flashed them a charming smile. "That’s very kind of you. Thank you."
The girls giggled, whispering among themselves as she accepted the cup.
She decided to play along, lowering her voice slightly as she added, "You’re all so thoughtful. It’s a pleasure to work with such considerate colleagues."
The effect of her words was immediate. The girls blushed furiously, their admiration for the "newcomer" evident and Yvette fought a serious internal battle against the urge to laugh, enjoying the harmless fun, when a familiar voice cut through the chatter.
"What’s all this fuss about?". Blair, donning a black pants and grey hoodie asked Leila whom he ran into at the entrance.
"Where?." Leila asked and he furrowed his brows as he pointed to the corner which hid the clusters of women.
"Oh, I also don’t know. I just settled in" . Leila shrugged nonchalantly as she gazed at the commotion. "I guess it’s just someone showing off as usual but why don’t we ask around. Curiousity doesn’t kills does it?"
And so, they asked someone nearby about the cause if the commotion.
One of the crew members turned to them, starry-eyed. "There’s this really handsome new guy over there, I haven’t seen a guy so handsome and cool". She said, pointing at Yvette who was now surrounded by women. "We think he just joined the cast!"
Blair raised an eyebrow, his expression one of amused skepticism as the staff member described. "Handsome, you say? Please, who could be more handsome than me , the prince charming of this set itself?"
The women laughed, but their attention remained fixed on Yvette who was covered in the corner.
"Got your ego hurt". Leila chuckled and Blair grinned.
"Then I shall see who on earth is much more handsome than I am on this set to cause such a chaos". Blair chuckled and walked over with Leila trailing curiously behind him.
