The stars dotted the inky-black sky, their glow rivaled only by the bright, silvery moonlight that bathed the quiet campsite.

A gentle breeze rustled the pine trees surrounding the clearing, carrying the smoky aroma of sizzling barbecue.

Inside the large, cozy tent pitched on the soft grass, laughter echoed as everyone sat in a group of circle , before the atmosphere became quiet with Olivia gazing intently at Angelo as if she was awaiting a death sentence.

The small, battered bottle that get to decide their fates sat in the center of the circle, gleaming under the faint light of a lantern.

Plates filled with grilled skewers, roasted corn, and dipping sauces lay scattered among them, along with bottles of beer and soda.

"Common, bring it on. Don’t tell me you’re afraid now and you’re tryna back out". Ollie laughed as she chewed another piece of barbecue .

"You joke too much". Angelo laughed and snapped his fingers. "Okay, let’s keep it simple for a start".

"How and when did you two get together cause it not quite the union I was expecting, I was almost blinded and i won’t deny that I was confused for quite a while. I mean who fell first". Angelo said gesturing at Olivia and Knox who were in each other’s embrace .

Ollie excitedly clapped her hands , leaning forward. " That, simple. I fell in love with him first but ignored my feelings , I thought it was a mere infatuation until David made me loose it and my daydream came back to me at dusk and here we are after a night stand".

She concluded and paused for a while before continuing as though she’d read Angelo’s mind. "As for the confession part, we all know his EQ is kinda relatively low so I had to nudge him a bit or we’ll still be playing hide and seek ". Ollie laughed as she caress Knox’s palm and everyone burst into laughter at her words.

But they couldn’t deny that she was right, Knox had a high IQ but his EQ, it was entirely nothing to write home about.

"So that explains it". Angelo sighed and grabbed that bottle again.

"Hey, it’s not done like that". Leila huffed and stopped him. "We’re supposed to take turn in spinning also".

"We’ll still get the same outcome, besides I don’t care about the process". Angelo shrugged his shoulder and they all agreed.

Angelo, bearing an easygoing and mischevious smile spun the bottle with a flick of his wrist. It wobbled dramatically before pointing directly at Knox, the group’s quietest member.

Everyone broke into laughter. "Finally! You can’t avoid this one". Eriq teased with a perpetually playful smirk.

Knox laughed and shifted uncomfortably, running a hand through his messy hair. "Alright, hit me,". He said, his voice resigned but laced with good humor.

Angelo leaned forward, eyes sparkling with mischief. "How exactly did you confess your feelings to Olivia?". He smirked and leaned back in his seat.

Knox hesitated, a shadow flickering across his face. Then he reached for the beer and took a long sip instead of answering. "Nope, not touching that one". He muttered, earning a chorus of groans and mock boos.

"Coward". Angelo and Eriq laughed.

"You’re lucky this isn’t a truth or dare". Yvette joked , crossing her legs. "We’d make you sing or something."

Angelo spun the bottle again, and this time it landed on Olivia again and the room erupted into cheers and whistles.

"Seems you’re my soulmate tonight". Angelo chuckled as the bottle pointed directly at her.

"Uh-oh, soulmate my ass". Ollie said, narrowing her eyes at the group.

Angelo clapped his hands excitedly. "Now’s for the big fish".

"Just bring it on already". Ollie huffed nonchalantly.

"So. What if your ex came back begging you and explains that it was all truly a misunderstanding, would you get back with him?".

As soon as he completed his words, the campsite went as quiet as a graveyard. Ollie stilled in her position and Knox could feel his heart thumping erratically in his chest.

Sensing the atmosphere, Angelo added. "I mean you and Knox haven’t been together for long and what you and your ex had was true, since high school class, there might be a possiblity that the feelings still there, just waiting for a trigger".

"So, if everything that happened that night was all a misunderstanding on your part. Would you get back to him or not?". Angelo concluded and all eyes flashed to Ollie’s waiting for her response.

Ollie sat properly and leaned forward, she paused for a while before answering with all sincerity. "I would never". She replied and Knox sighed in relief.

"What I and David shared was indeed true but it melted down a long time, we just kept trying to make it work . So even if what happened that night was a misunderstanding on my part, I would never go back because it made me find someone who’s just my other part, the one that completes me and make me feel truly in love and cherished". Olivia concluded before turning to face Knox and pressing her lips on his intimately and he happily reciprocated.

Everyone gasped and screamed at the nonchalant and uncaring couple in excitement.

"Someone, give me back the Knox I know". Eriq lamented sadly. "First, it’s Zeke and now Knox".

"I’ll always be with you forever, darling. You’re so lucky to have me ". Angelo grinned, patting Eriq shoulder encouragingly.

"Forever my ass". Eriq slapped his hands away harshly. "Wait until my mother comes running for me from miles away".

"Blair certainly relates. You can ask him for advice". Zeke chuckled as he butted in playfully.

"So , does that answers your question?". Olivia asked with a mischevious grin.

"Perfectly ma’am". Angelo smiled and returned his attention back to the bottle in their midst before spinning it vigorously.

Hopefully, this time around it landed on Odiette instead of his soulmate for the night, Olivia.

"Bring it on ". Odiette clapped as others cheered.

"So Odiette, do you believe in love?. I mean do you think love exists and do you believe in true love ?". Angelo asked, stunning everyone.

"Well, that’s too easy. You’re being unfair". Olivia sulked unhappily but she was also eager to hear the answer and so was everyone.

Odiette didn’t have a proper family since birth, one where love , familial love was absent so it was absolutely understandable that her answer would be no.
