LOVE IN PARIS: Married To My Brother-in-law-Chapter 34: Pressure Acting
Everyone on set was stunned at her outburst, this was especially unlike her usually composed and elegant self. They rushed to pull her away before she could get to Yvette but Nadia pushed them all off crazily.
"Nadia, you’ll loose your reputation". Mary rushed forward to stop her.
"Scram, you lowlife". Nadia yelled and slapped her , sending her stumbling onto the floor with an obvious cut on her lips. "I’ve long wished to tear this bitch apart and today no one will stop me ". She added pointing at Yvette who was being led inside by Blair, away from her craziness.
"Is she crazy".
"Indeed. Behind a perfect soul lays several layers of blended disgust".
"She’s finally revealing her true colour. So hideous".
"This is really disgusting".
"What elegancy and well mannered lady, those qualities are nowhere to be found now. She’s nothing but a crazed lady blaming other for her misfortune".
Everyone was surprised at her sudden outburst and immediately stayed away from her until the security held her down and she calmed down .
With a last glance, Nadia left the set with gritted teeths.
Inside the dressing room.
Blair waited outside as Yvette took off her costumes and when she did, she joined him outside as they walked towards the garage.
Due to Nadia’s outburst , everyone on set was stunned and stressed so Director Cole called off the day’s work, giving everyone a two days break.
"Earlier". Blair began as they walked quietly. "That was so unlike you, you’re usually gentle and not troublesome but today you went all out for Nadia, weren’t you worried someone would notice your tricks?. And I really have to ask , what did Nadia do to enrage you this much?".
"What tricks?. I was simply acting". Yvette replied nonchalantly.
"And you were so terrific at that. Then I guess the incident at the mountainside while I was away was indeed mapped out by Nadia". Blair sighed as he stared at her petite frame.
"You know it already, don’t you".
"I just pieced the clues together". Blair said. "But today, you’ve made her lost her face and hard earned reputation revealing her malicious and ugly side. Aren’t you afraid she’ll come back for you and tear you apart?".
""Since I indeed went against her today, do you think I’m so foolish not to have a thorough plan". Yvette asked jokingly.
"Of course not. I’m just worried about you". Blair patted her shoulder and she chuckled.
"Then you’d better worry about your good colleague instead. Her good days are about to be over". Yvette added icily, her done laced with determination.
"When have I been the one to worry about an insignificant person". Blair shrugged his shoulder, unconcerned. "Beside, I haven’t gotten the chance to ask you and I’m indeed suspicious".
"What’s that?".
"You were stranded at the mountainside. How could Leila alone save you, are you hiding something from me ?". Blair asked and Yvette immediately found a response.
"Nope. Besides I’m from an influential family so you might not know, even though I’ve been disowned they just wouldn’t let me die. Right".
"Oh. But I still feel like you’re hiding something from me".
"You think too much". Yvette said as they got to the garage.
"I could drop you guys off". Blair requested as he entered his car.
"Leila’s car is waiting over there". Yvette replied, pointing at the bright red Ferrari nearby. "Thanks for the help though".
"It’s nothing. Goodnight".
"Goodnight."
Leila grinned as she opened the car door for Yvette, she could barely contain her excitement. "Today’s show was so satisfying, all I missed was popcorn and a chilled drink but do you think it’ll go as planned ".
"Absolutely". Yvette smiled. "She’s the type to hold grudges and take revenge so she’ll definitely go extra miles ahead."
"Fine. Then how about a dinner outside today to celebrate". Leila suggested.
"Sure".
The trick Yvette had actually pulled up to her use was called pressure acting, acting overly perfect and inputting every emotions, this could even pressure or make the victim act abnormally, most times the victim would forget their lines.
This is a rare technique and it’s especially hard to see through because it wasn’t easy to tell whether the person was simply acting well or purposely pressure acting.

The tall glass door of the CEO’s office swung open with a loud bang, startling the assistant and dark haired man inside.
"Leave us". Nadia commanded as she stormed in angrily, an energy that betrayed her usual composed public persona and the assistants immediately scurried away, obeying her command and slamming the door shut behind them.
Her eyes, red with frustration and puffy from her tears, locked onto Manuel who was seated behind a sleek mahogany desk, his fingers dancing over some reports. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
"What happened?. Why are you so angry?" . Manuel asked as he made space for her before he pulled her into his laps.
" It’s that damned Yvette". She hissed through clenched teeth, her voice trembling with barely restrained fury.
"Yvette, what happened between you two". Manuel asked , confusion swirling in his eyes.
"Manuel, you have to avenge me. Do have any idea how much face I’ve lost today on set because of that damned woman". Nadia screamed.
Manuel sighed as he looked up at her, a deep furrow forming between his brows. "Why would she suddenly go against you, this . ."
" That woman humiliated me in front of everyone on set today, I’ve lost my hard-earned reputation and I want her to suffer the consequences of her actions".
"But not now Nadia". He muttered, placing a file aside. "I’m currently swamped with the preparations for the company’s fifth anniversary and vetting. This is a crucial time for me , for us, and I can’t afford to get distracted with... petty quarrels or I won’t be able to keep my position not to talk of avenging you."
Nadia eyes flared at his words. "Petty quarrels?". She repeated, incredulous. "You call this petty? That vile woman deliberately set me up to look like a fool in front of everyone and you expect me to just—"
"You need to calm down." His voice, though soft, was edged with warning. "This isn’t the time to get caught up in personal matters. I can’t afford any conflicts, especially not within the company at this crucial moment or I won’t be able to keep my position not to talk of even avenging you."
Nadia’s jaw tightened. Her long polished nails dug into the polished desk as she leaned forward, her voice dripping with venom. "Is it because you’re stuck in a crucial position or because she’s your ex , or because you still can’t let go of her? Is that why you won’t stand up for me? You’re protecting her, aren’t you?"
At this, Manuel paused and his expression darkened, and he finally leaned back in his chair, rubbing his temples. "Nadia, you know very well the answer to this question. Yvette is irrelevant to me.
""Whatever history I had with her means nothing. I have no reason to protect her. But I also have no reason to interfere. You know how it is now – this is business, not personal and besides there are tons of eyes looking up at my every move, I can’t risk this."
"I hope this is indeed your reasons, else . .". She spat bitterly.
Manuel remained silent, his expression unreadable. He watched her for a moment, and then, as if exhausted, shrugged. "Do as you wish Nadia. If you want revenge, then take it. I won’t stop you. But don’t expect me to get involved. I have bigger concerns at this moment than personal vendettas."
Nadia paused her eyes narrowing as her mind raced then after a long, tense silence, her demeanor changed.
A sly, coquettish smile curled her lips. "Fine," She said softly, whispering in his ears as her hands ran along his chest provocatively. "If you won’t help me directly, then at least... do me this favor."
"What favour ?" He asked with a coarse voice as he resisted the temptation of pinning her down right in the office but this was not the right time nor the right thing to do.
"Then I’ll have to bother you to send Yvette an invitation to the company’s upcoming fifth anniversary celebration". Nadia concluded and Manuel smiled.
Manuel glanced at her, his expression cool, but there was a flicker of curiosity in his eyes. "An invitation?. What exactly are you playing at ?".
"Can’t you tell it already?." She purred, brushing a stray lock of hair from her face. "Everyone is going to be present at the party so naturally we cant leaver her behind or it’ll be bad for the company’s image if words get out or can we ?".
For the first time since she entered the room, a flicker of amusement passed over his face, though it was brief. "You’re playing a dangerous game, Nadia."
She smiled, maliciously now, the anger simmering underneath her perfectly poised facade. "I always play to win."
He sighed, leaning back once again. "Fine. I’ll send the invitation. But whatever you’re planning at, keep it clean. The company can’t afford a scandal."
"Oh, don’t worry,". She whispered as she turned to leave, her tone dripping with satisfaction. "I’ll make sure it’s an unforgettable event." She pressed a kiss to his lip and then left , a self satisfied smile tugging at her lips.
"Yvette, oh Yvette. Let’s see if you can still be smug in just few days to now".
