Chapter 122: Christmas Miracle

The sleek glass doors of the prestigious talent agency reflected Leila’s determined expression as she stepped inside, her heels clicking against the polished marble floor.

The reception area was immaculate and modern art adorned the walls and the faint scent of expensive cologne lingered in the air. She had been here before, but never like this.

Never with such urgency.

The receptionist, a poised woman with a practiced smile recognized her immediately. "Leila! It’s been a while. Mr. Eriq isn’t expecting you, is he?"

Leila forced a smile, her fingers tightening around the strap of her purse. "No, but it’s important. Is he in?"

The woman hesitated but nodded. "He just got back from London. Let me see if he’s available."

Leila exhaled shakily, her heart hammering. She couldn’t let Tyrell throw away everything, at least not for her.

Not when he had spent years clawing his way to the top, enduring brutal auditions, rejections, and sleepless nights just to establish himself as one of the most respected actors of his generation. And now, because of the backlash from fans who couldn’t accept their relationship, he was ready to walk away.

No.

She wouldn’t allow it.

The receptionist returned, gesturing down the hall. "He’ll see you."

Leila’s breath hitched as she walked toward the office, her pulse roaring in her ears. The door was slightly ajar, and she pushed it open.

Eriq stood by the floor-to-ceiling windows, his back turned as he gazed at the city skyline.

He turned at the sound of her entrance, surprise flickering across his sharp features before melting into a warm smile.

"Leila". He said, his voice rich with amusement. "To what do I owe this unexpected pleasure?"

She swallowed hard, her throat dry. "Eriq, we need to talk."

His smile faltered slightly at her tone and he motioned to the plush chair across from his desk. "Sit. You look like you’re about to pass out."

She didn’t sit.

Instead, she strode forward, her voice trembling with emotion. "Tyrell is quitting."

Eriq blinked. "What?"

"Because of me. Because of the hate online. Because people think they have a say in who he loves." Her voice cracked. "He’s giving up his career, Eriq . And I can’t let him do that."

Eriq’s expression darkened. He strode to his desk, tapping a few keys on his laptop before cursing under his breath. "I just got back from a business trip. I had no idea it had gotten this bad."

Leila’s eyes burned. "It’s everywhere. The threats, the demands that he ’dump her’ as if I’m some villain for loving him and the video from the day before ."

Eriq exhaled sharply, running a hand through his hair. "That’s bullshit." His gaze locked onto hers, fierce and unwavering.

"Listen to me. We both know Tyrell is one of the most talented actors I’ve ever worked with. And you. . you’re the best damn thing that’s ever happened to him. Fans don’t get to dictate his life or relationship status ."

Leila’s vision blurred. "But they’re relentless. And he’s willing to walk away from everything to protect me."

He rounded the desk, gripping her shoulders gently. "Then we fight back. I’ll handle the PR, the media. . . everything. You two don’t have to face this alone."

A tear slipped down her cheek. "Thank you."

He smirked, though his eyes were soft. "What are friends for?"

---

Leila’s fingers trembled as she unlocked the door to their penthouse, her mind still reeling from her conversation with Eriq and hoping things will change for the better hopefully.

She barely had time to compose herself before strong arms wrapped around her from behind, pulling her into a familiar, comforting embrace and she couldn’t help but smile.

Tyrell’s lips brushed against her ear, his voice a low murmur. "Where have you been, love?"

She turned in his arms with a smile. "Just at a friend’s place. We needed to talk."

His piercing blue eyes searched hers, and for a heartbeat, she feared he saw right through her lie.

But then he grinned, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "Good. Because I have a surprise for you."

She blinked in surprise . "A surprise?"

He grabbed her hand, tugging her toward the door. "Come on. No questions."

Leila laughed despite herself as he practically dragged her to the elevator. "Ty, I just got home!"

"And now you’re leaving again". He teased, pressing the button for the garage.

The drive was a blur.

Leila watched the city lights streak past the windows, her curiosity mounting with every turn. She kept stealing glances at Tyrell , his strong jaw set in determination, his fingers tapping rhythmically against the steering wheel.

"Are you going to tell me where we’re going?". She asked.

He smirked. "Nope."

Few minutes later, he parked outside an unassuming building. Leila frowned. "This is... the courthouse?"

Tyrell then turned to her, his expression suddenly serious. His hand found hers, squeezing it gently. "Leila, I’ve spent my whole life chasing roles, accolades, fame. But none of it means anything without you."

Her breath caught.

"I don’t care what the world says. I don’t care if a million people scream that they hate us together. I love you. And I want to marry you. Right now. Will you do me the honor?".

Her heart almost stopped as he completed his sentence. "Tyrell. . "

He leaned in, his forehead resting against hers. "No more waiting. No more letting anyone dictate our happiness. Marry me. Today."

Tears spilled freely now from her eyes and she nodded, her voice barely a whisper. "Yes."

The ceremony was a whirlwind , signing papers, exchanging rings, the judge’s voice echoing as they pledged their lives to one another. And then, just like that, they were married.

As they stepped outside, the golden afternoon light bathing them in warmth, Tyrell held up their marriage certificate with a triumphant grin.

"Now". He said, his voice thick with emotion. "If anyone dares to say a damn word, we’ll just slam this in their fucking faces."

Leila burst into laughter, throwing her arms around him. And in that moment, with the world still spinning outside their little bubble, nothing else mattered.
