Chapter 212: Chapter 112: How Dare You, How Dare You Betray Me?

The black Range Rover sped out of the school gates, the car flying down the road in a suffocating silence.

In the passenger seat, Xu Su watched Zhou Mochen’s expressionless profile, her heart aching. "I’m sorry..."

Without turning his head, Zhou Mochen cut her off. "Save your breath. We’ll talk when we get back."

His eyes were fixed on the road ahead, as if he had already sobered up from his earlier explosive rage.

This state of his reminded Xu Su of her past life.

When she had just started university, Zhou Mochen hadn’t yet arranged for people to monitor her daily activities. At her strong insistence, he had even agreed to let her live on campus.

Aside from having to see Zhou Mochen every weekend, Xu Su was, for the most part, free.

As a new university student, her looks inevitably attracted wave after wave of suitors.

The boys with lesser means didn’t even dare to approach her; those who did were all well-known figures in their respective departments. Yet, no matter how outstanding the suitor, Xu Su was always mindful of her status as a kept woman.

She was afraid her classmates would find out she was someone’s mistress, so she didn’t dare get too close even with female friends. As for the relentless stream of suitors, she kept them all at arm’s length.

That was until she met a persistent rich second-generation heir. Xu Su had forgotten his name, only vaguely recalling that he was cheerful and good-tempered, always chasing after her. During that time, he could be seen waiting for her everywhere—the cafeteria, the library, the classroom, and even downstairs from her dorm.

Xu Su, thoroughly annoyed, had told him directly that if he wanted to pursue her, he had to come up with two hundred thousand yuan first.

She had sold herself for two hundred thousand, so that number had become a knot in her heart.

With two hundred thousand, she could pay Zhou Mochen back. She wouldn’t have to force herself to see him every week and sleep with a man she didn’t like.

She had only said it casually, never expecting the guy to actually show up the next day with a suitcase full of money. Amidst the jeers and cheers of her classmates, someone gave her a push, and the two of them ended up in an embrace.

And as luck would have it, they were seen by none other than Zhou Mochen.

The scene that followed was like a collision of planets. Zhou Mochen’s mask of refined indifference was torn to shreds as he erupted in a graceless fury, like a lion whose territory had been invaded, viciously tearing at his rival’s flesh.

That was the first time in her past life that Xu Su had ever seen him hit someone. There were so many onlookers, but the few students who tried to intervene were all restrained by Zhou Mochen’s men.

Later, when the suitcase full of money was opened and counted to be exactly two hundred thousand, Xu Su could still remember the look on Zhou Mochen’s face at that very moment.

If Xu Su had merely disliked Zhou Mochen before, after that day, she was truly a little afraid of him.

’Thinking back on it now, it seems his psychotic tendencies started from that incident.’

He was plagued by insecurity, paranoid and obsessive. He was afraid she would fall for someone else, and also afraid she would never fall for him.

After using money to keep her by his side, he started coveting her heart...

Xu Su closed her eyes slightly. She felt a slight urge to touch Zhou Mochen beside her. Her fingers twitched, but then she saw his expressionless profile and froze.

The drive from City No.1 High School to Imperial Central wasn’t long, and they arrived quickly.

Zhou Mochen parked the car without a word, got out, rounded the front in a few steps, opened the passenger door, and yanked Xu Su out of the car.

Her wrist was gripped tightly. Xu Su was dragged into the elevator, through the front door, into the bedroom, and finally, thrown onto the bed.

The moment her back hit the mattress, Xu Su quickly sat up and shrank back, somewhat afraid that Zhou Mochen was about to lose it.

However, Zhou Mochen just stood by the bed, motionless.

He didn’t sit down, nor did he lean over and press her down. He stood ramrod straight, making no move, just watching her quietly, his eyes filled with mockery. "Go on, talk. Let’s hear your explanation."

Xu Su froze. After a long moment, she stammered, "He was just talking nonsense. I didn’t do anything with him."

"Didn’t do anything," Zhou Mochen repeated slowly, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "You were together for a year. You hid it from me, lied to me time and time again. How can I possibly believe you?"

He suddenly took a step forward, kneeling on the bed with one knee. He reached out, grabbed the back of Xu Su’s neck, and leaned in close to her. "Was it fun, making a fool of me? Xu Su, watching me get wrapped around your little finger, did it give you a sense of accomplishment?"

The muscles in Zhou Mochen’s jaw were clenched tight, the corners of his eyes were red, and he looked completely unhinged—a terrifying sight.

Xu Su shook her head, trembling. "No... Zhou Mochen, don’t be like this. I’m scared..."

"Scared of what? What did you do that makes you feel so scared?" Zhou Mochen smiled faintly, reaching out to unbutton the collar of Xu Su’s shirt. He pointed to her collarbone and asked, "That time during summer break... was this a hickey?"

Xu Su’s face instantly turned deathly pale.

Seeing her expression, Zhou Mochen’s face contorted again, becoming twisted and crazed. "I’m such an idiot. I believed your bullshit. Xu Su, you let him touch you? How dare you? How dare you betray me?"

"I’m sorry, I’m sorry..." Xu Su shook her head, tears streaming down her face.

In the face of his accusations, any explanation felt far too feeble.

"You didn’t want me to go to your school because you were afraid I’d interrupt your little romance, right? While you were all lovey-dovey with another man, watching me carefully trying to please you, did you find me absolutely ridiculous?"

"No, that’s not it." Xu Su shook her head helplessly and reached out to hug him. "I never thought you were ridiculous. Zhou Mochen, I really do like you. Please, just trust me one more time, okay?"

"Is that so? You like me, yet you keep me hidden away like a secret, while you parade another man around town and even take him to your grandmother’s house?" The hand on the back of her neck tightened slightly, forcing her to look up. Zhou Mochen’s cold gaze held undisguised hurt. "Xu Su, you were with him for a year."

Xu Su was at a loss for words. ...These things had all really happened; she had no way to refute them.

Her silence made Zhou Mochen’s gaze turn savage. "Did you sleep with him?"

Xu Su shuddered and quickly shook her head. "No, I really didn’t."

"That’s not what your ex-boyfriend said. Xu Su, do you think I can still believe you?"

’There it is again,’ Xu Su thought bitterly. ’Is this what it feels like to have lost all credibility?’

Zhou Mochen reached out, caressing her lips as he asked softly, "Did he ever touch you here?" 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

Xu Su had no answer. She turned her head to avoid his hand and buried her face in his chest, unwilling to lie to him again.

"You’re really something, Xu Su." Zhou Mochen gritted his teeth, a cold sneer on his face. "With me, it’s all Platonic, but with other men, it’s mutual affection? What does he have that I don’t?"

He tightened his arms around the trembling girl in his embrace. "What are you shaking for? You know I love you. Isn’t acting spoiled because you know you’re loved your specialty? You know perfectly well that, in the end, I could never bring myself to hurt you."
