Live Strong in the Wilderness-Chapter 268: Meeting Between Two Groups
Looking at Xu Yi and Lu Ke, as well as the other groups, becoming stronger day by day, Su Yan really felt envious.
Every day, she wanted to return to that planet.
However, up until now, there’s been no news at all.
There are only 29 days left until the hundred-day mark.
Perhaps, by then the answer will be revealed.
Compared to others, she much preferred to collaborate with Xu Yi and the others. After all, they are quite familiar with each other and can collaborate with ease.
Aside from Su Yan, countless viewers were also awaiting Xu Yi’s decision.
They were curious as well about whether Xu Yi would meet with the father and son or collaborate. They all knew very well that the father and son were keen to collaborate with Xu Yi and the others.
However, after Xu Yi and Lu Ke had lunch, they did not call out the names of the father and son but went out instead.
Before leaving, Xu Yi made some small moves to determine whether the father and son had intruded into their camp while they were away.
After leaving the camp, Xu Yi took Lu Ke and began searching for prey nearby.
Lu Ke didn’t ask a single question and silently followed Xu Yi.
"Watch out."
Xu Yi suddenly pushed Lu Ke and then drew his dagger.
A leopard leapt down from the tree, lunging toward Lu Ke.
Luckily, Xu Yi pushed Lu Ke, causing it to dodge the leopard’s surprise attack, making it miss.
After landing, it immediately pounced toward Xu Yi.
"This is impressive, setting up ambushes like this?"
"Pouncing from trees to ambush prey is a leopard’s skill, that’s nothing unusual."
"Xu Yi must have radar, he discovered it in advance. Without him, Lu Ke might have been bitten."
"What’s there to fear? Loli Ke is wearing Black Scale Soft Armor inside, she’ll definitely not get hurt."
"Really, you have to be cautious no matter where you go, or you’ll never know how you died."
As the leopard jumped, Xu Yi punched its jaw, sending it flying with ease, not difficult at all.
"Let me handle it." Lu Ke said a sentence, feeling she needed more practice. Watching Xu Yi’s performance, a single leopard couldn’t do anything to him.
Xu Yi hesitated, then nodded, stepping aside and sheathing his dagger.
When fists can solve a problem, there’s no need for weapons.
As Lu Ke took over, the leopard immediately pounced again.
Xu Yi’s punch made it feel dizzy but didn’t affect its actions.
Its bloodthirsty mouth didn’t bite Loli Ke because she jumped aside first.
When the leopard landed, Lu Ke’s foot kicked it.
This kick could be considered a low blow. If the leopard had balls, they would certainly be shattered.
Because the strength of this kick wasn’t small.
After being kicked, the leopard let out a cry and jumped up.
But Lu Ke didn’t stop, she immediately pounced, punching the leopard’s waist.
The leopard never expected the two creatures it ambushed to be so fierce, each attack fiercer than the last.
It bit several times but never managed to bite its targets, and took several punches instead.
So, it started thinking of escaping.
But as soon as it intended to, Lu Ke grabbed its tail.
Lu Ke directly swung the leopard up, slamming it down on the ground.
"This leopard is too cowardly, wanting to run after a few hits."
"Lu Ke is improving so fast, she can already handle a leopard alone."
"Honestly, without Xu Yi’s initial punch, she wouldn’t have it so easy."
"No matter what, Loli Ke is already very formidable."
"Not just Loli Ke, yesterday Wanzi also killed one by herself. Plus, it’s not only them, everyone is getting stronger."
Lu Ke looked down at the leopard on the ground and then rubbed her fist.
It’s still quite painful when striking bone.
"Not bad, your skills have improved greatly now. A single leopard can no longer threaten you. If you use a dagger, you can finish it off in under a minute." Xu Yi said happily, knowing that Lu Ke’s strength had increased, enhancing her self-preservation abilities.
"I never expected I could defeat a leopard." Lu Ke herself was quite surprised, as it took less than five minutes to beat the leopard to the ground.
"Are we dragging it back to camp?" Lu Ke asked, considering they’d been out for just under an hour, it seemed a bit early to return.
"Let’s go back, and meet that father and son." Xu Yi said, then went up to grab the leopard’s hind legs.
It’s not dead yet. Dragging it back allows for draining some leopard blood, which can be cooked in the evening to supplement iron.
"Meeting them now, are we going to collaborate?" Lu Ke glanced at Xu Yi, surprised at his decision.
"Well, let’s talk about it. Collaboration can be considered if suitable." Xu Yi said, knowing that collaborations need careful planning.
If the group with Wang Jin and Lu Yao hadn’t withdrawn, Xu Yi would likely have collaborated with them.
Lu Ke nodded, stayed silent, and followed behind Xu Yi, keeping an eye on the leopard. Since it’s not dead, if it suddenly wakes up and attacks Xu Yi, she can stop it immediately.
On the way back, the leopard really did wake up, but Xu Yi knocked it out again, without giving Lu Ke a chance to intervene.
Upon returning to camp, Xu Yi glanced around and saw no signs of anyone coming over.
He proceeded to hang up the leopard, then took out a clay bowl, filled it with water, and added some salt.
"Lu Ke, call them over." Xu Yi stirred the salt water with his dagger, then plucked some of the leopard’s neck fur.
Lu Ke called out a few times and got a response from the woods.
Shortly after, the Zhou Family father and son rode over on horseback.
Seeing them approach on horses, Xu Yi was a bit surprised.
There really are wild horses on this island, and they’ve been tamed into mounts.
This group is quite formidable.
Moreover, Xu Yi noticed horseshoes nailed to the horse’s hooves.
Xu Yi cut open the leopard’s throat, while Lu Ke held the bowl to collect the blood.
Seeing this scene, Zhou Chun and Zhou Mo exchanged glances and dismounted.
"My name is Zhou Mo, and this is my dad, Zhou Chun. It’s a pleasure to meet you here. Judging from your looks, you should be from Huaxia, right?" Zhou Mo said with a smile, worried earlier about encountering foreigners. Thus, his message was in both Chinese and English.
"I’m Xu Yi, nice to meet you." Xu Yi introduced himself.
"I’m Lu Ke." Lu Ke replied more simply.
"We’re fellow countrymen, that’s wonderful." Zhou Chun said joyfully, understanding Xu Yi and Lu Ke’s reservedness as normal, given they weren’t familiar with each other.
Xu Yi nodded, then asked, "Have you discovered iron ore?"
Zhou Chun was taken aback, not expecting Xu Yi to ask so directly.
Should he answer, or refuse?
