Live Strong in the Wilderness-Chapter 220: Each Is Worth 50 Points
If Xu Yi were here, he would definitely recognize it; it was the ’Overlord’ he feared greatly.
However, it was now covered in wounds.
Soon, six tigers appeared and quickly caught up with the ’Overlord.’
Their sharp claws reached for the ’Overlord’s’ rear.
Attacked from two directions, no matter how the ’Overlord’ fought back, it was of no use.
After all, it was alone, and there were six tigers; it couldn’t withstand them.
Before long, the ’Overlord’ fell and was torn apart by the tigers, becoming their food.
Such scenes played out in every corner of the jungle.
Because the jungle was truly vast, it nurtured many beasts.
The ground was covered with tender grass, so many herbivores roamed in herds.
Xu Yi heard the sounds but did not turn back because the sounds seemed like tigers hunting.
Turning back might put himself and Lu Ke in danger.
Being able to deal with a wolf pack didn’t mean they could handle a tiger pack.
Tigers moving in packs were certainly against the rules.
But this was an alien planet; nothing was surprising here.
On the other side of the jungle, Wang Jin and Lu Yao encountered a magical creature.
It looked very much like a jellyfish, but it was black and appeared lightweight.
However, this thing was definitely dangerous.
Because Wang Jin and Lu Ke saw a black bear attempting to eat it, only to get electrocuted to death.
Not only electrocuted, but charred.
"Sis, if this thing could be controlled, it would be a superweapon; such a big black bear was directly electrocuted." Wang Jin mused, looking at the black ’creature.’
"You’re thinking too much; you can’t even touch this thing, let alone control it. Who knows where they get such a powerful energy," Lu Yao said, with great apprehension.
She’s not afraid of the black bear, but this unknown creature truly made her a bit scared.
"Do we need to shoot it?" Wang Jin asked. She knew controlling it was impossible, but it was still a nice thought.
"Let’s observe it first. If its speed remains the same, it could be considered. With such massive destructive power, its score might be high," Lu Yao, being quite cautious, thought it was better not to act rashly as this was her first encounter with such a magical creature.
Wang Jin nodded, eyeing the black bear’s corpse.
Wondering if the electrically cooked bear paw could be eaten, or if it tasted good.
"Look." Lu Yao suddenly spoke.
Wang Jin saw the jellyfish-like animal extending several tentacles, which then pierced into the black bear’s corpse.
The bear’s body visibly deflated significantly.
Wang Jin and Lu Yao watched in shock, their fear of that creature growing stronger.
This thing was terrifying.
Luckily, they had been in the jungle for so many days and only encountered one.
Perhaps it had absorbed enough; it retracted its tentacles and moved upward.
Its movement resembled that of a jellyfish.
After observing for more than an hour, Lu Yao drew the Hunting Bow and shot it.
"Didn’t it die?" Wang Jin saw the wooden arrow go straight through, seemingly having no effect on it.
"I’ll try." With that, Wang Jin picked up the Slingshot and shot at the thing.
Again, it passed through without affecting it.
Lu Yao saw the thing tremble a few times, then there was a flash of electricity.
The nearby tree suffered, getting directly zapped and catching fire.
"Keep going." Lu Yao felt using the Slingshot was enough; her wooden arrows should be conserved as she never knew where they would land once shot.
"I’ll see if I can’t kill you," Wang Jin angrily began a sustained attack.
A whole bag of pebbles was spent.
The creature was now riddled with holes.
"Hunted one Lightning Mica, scored 50 points."
"Wow, 50 points? That’s high!" Wang Jin grinned happily at the notification.
"What a pity there’s only one; more would be better. This thing is so easy to deal with," Wang Jin said blissfully.
"Hah, if I hadn’t held you back, you’d be a charred corpse by now. Remember, be cautious with anything you encounter in the future; a single touch could be fatal," Lu Ke continued to warn.
Initially, Wang Jin found the Lightning Mica fascinating and wanted to touch it.
Thankfully, Lu Yao stopped her in time.
Soon after, a black bear came along. But it showed no interest in Wang Jin and Lu Yao, only going for the Lightning Mica.
"Got it. I won’t act recklessly again," Wang Jin replied with a hint of lingering fear. Who would have thought something seemingly harmless could possess such incredible destructive power?
"Let’s go; we need to put out the fire first and collect the bear hide," said Lu Yao, cutting some shrubs and handing them to Wang Jin, preparing to extinguish the burning wood.
If left unattended, the fire could lead to a large-scale forest fire. To ensure their safety and that of Xu Yi and the others, Lu Yao decided it was best to put it out.
"Sis, do you think Xu Yi and the others reached 100 points so quickly because they encountered something similar?" Wang Jin speculated that since the Lightning Mica was worth 50 points, perhaps Xu Yi and Lu Ke could have reached 100 points early on by encountering a similar situation.
After all, at that time, they only had a few points, while Xu Yi was already at 100.
"Perhaps, but such creatures shouldn’t be common," Lu Yao couldn’t be sure. Even if it happened, Xu Yi and the others might not be willing to discuss it.
"Sis, you might be wrong... Let’s go, quickly." Wang Jin saw a patch of black objects, suddenly feeling her hair stand on end.
Lightning Micas, a large number of them kept appearing, at least forty or fifty.
Lu Yao’s expression changed instantly, and she began to run with Wang Jin in the opposite direction.
If surrounded, they’d be completely doomed.
"So many points! One is 50 points; here, you could harvest a thousand or two, becoming absolute tycoons!"
"You think it’s that easy to collect those points?"
"Judging by the previous Lightning Mica, its discharge distance was at least a meter; if surrounded, with the electric net covering, wow."
"If so many popped up, who knows if there are more nearby."
"Still, it’s so many points, and you can kill them with a Slingshot; it’s worth considering. Risk and reward always go hand in hand."
"Points are nice, but you need to be alive to use them!"
"I bet this area will become a restricted zone by Wanzi and the others in the future."
The two ran as fast as they could without stopping for a moment.
The points were high, but it was too dangerous.
One careless move and they’d be electrocuted. On the contrary, they preferred hunting beasts; the points were lower, but they could at least eat the meat!
