Live Strong in the Wilderness-Chapter 168: Don’t Get Lost (4th Update)
After Lu Yao finished her deep squats, she rested for about ten minutes before starting to teach Wang Jin some Fighting Techniques.
She discovered that Wang Jin actually had quite a talent in this area.
Moreover, her reactions were quite fast, possibly honed from playing video games frequently.
After teaching a few basic moves, she left Wang Jin to practice on her own.
She didn’t return to her own camp because she felt Xu Yi’s camp was more spacious; the greenhouse in the yard alone covered over a hundred square meters. With such a large open space, they had plenty of room for training.
While they were enhancing their skills, Xu Yi and Lu Ke were still on their journey.
"Xu Yi, are we lost again?" After walking for more than four hours, Lu Ke still couldn’t find the place where they had hung the goat that day.
"We shouldn’t be, I feel we are getting closer." Xu Yi was somewhat confident; they were walking along the edge of the cliff, if they still got lost, there would really be nothing more to say.
"If we are really lost, should we go back the way we came?" Lu Ke leaned against a tree, preparing to rest a bit. Traveling in the rain was more exhausting than usual; slipping easily made it more tiring.
"We won’t be. Us guys have a better sense of direction than you girls. Trust me, we are not lost, this is the right direction. Maybe it’s just a bit farther than expected." As he spoke, Xu Yi took out his bamboo tube and handed it to Lu Ke. Her water supply should be exhausted.
Lu Ke took the water, had a sip, and then handed it back to Xu Yi.
"Let’s keep moving, I’m fine now." Lu Ke tightened her hat, thinking that once they got back to camp they could eat, which would give them more strength.
"Alright, let’s try to get back earlier. Nowadays I get hungry more easily; getting back sooner means we can eat something." Xu Yi thought that next time they should bring more dried rations when going hunting.
"I feel the same, when I get hungry, I have no energy." Lu Ke could deeply relate; she initially thought it was just her.
The two continued on their way, and after walking for more than forty minutes, Xu Yi suddenly pointed ahead.
"The goat, it’s the goat we hung up." Lu Ke shouted happily, her pace quickening.
The two arrived beneath the goat, and despite the rain, a foul stench could still be detected.
Xu Yi untied the rope and threw the goat’s carcass toward the direction of the Umbrella Tree Forest. They didn’t have the strength to skin the goat at this point, so they decided to let it naturally decay.
Reaching this point, they weren’t in a rush anymore.
At most, three hours, and they could be back at their camp.
While Xu Yi and Lu Ke were finding the goat, Wang Jin and Lu Yao also left Xu Yi and Lu Ke’s camp, each carrying a basket and a log, moving one after the other, creating a scene with a unique charm.
Wang Jin mentioned that if any wild animals charged at them, she and Lu Yao would fling the log out, likely able to kill the animal with it.
However, Lu Yao believed it was unlikely in the jungle, unless they were on a plains or open area.
When Wang Jin and Lu Yao returned to camp, the pouring rain had finally reduced to a drizzle.
"I wonder if they’ve returned. If they see the message we left, they shouldn’t be mad, right?" Wang Jin glanced towards the jungle; she had left a note in Xu Yi and Lu Ke’s yard, indicating that she and Lu Yao would be staying at their camp for one night.
"They should be back today. If they really got eliminated, we would receive a notification." Lu Yao glanced at Wang Jin and shook her head.
If Wang Jin really fancied Xu Yi, it would be in vain.
Xu Yi and Lu Ke would eventually become a pair.
Spending so much time together, both of them were good-looking and currently getting along well.
Lu Yao felt that unless they were siblings, there was no suspense in them being together.
Yet, Lu Yao had no way to persuade her.
She knew that if she said anything, Wang Jin would definitely retort by saying she was clueless about relationships, naive, and too simplistic. In short, Wang Jin wouldn’t admit it nor consider herself interested in Xu Yi.
Thus, there was no point in advising her.
So, she chose to stand by and watch.
People often grow quickly after experiencing a few failed relationships.
This kind of crush doomed to no outcome also counts as one.
"Sis, if they really get eliminated and we take over their camp, do you think the audience will criticize us?" Wang Jin suddenly glanced at Lu Yao.
What?
Lu Yao glanced at Wang Jin, her mind somewhat unable to wrap around it.
Aren’t you fixated on Xu Yi?
Why are you suddenly so fixated on their camp?
"Anyway, they can’t hear or see us, do you care?" Lu Yao said, if Xu Yi and Lu Ke did get eliminated, she would certainly move into Xu Yi and Lu Ke’s camp.
After all, Xu Yi’s camp was clearly better than theirs.
To last 500 days and secure the use of this planet for all of humanity, she didn’t mind bearing a bit of criticism.
How others viewed her, she didn’t care.
"I don’t care. Even if I get criticized by countless people, I wouldn’t care. But realistically, our chances of elimination are higher than Xu Yi and Lu Ke’s. Prey in our forest is getting scarcer, and food supplies are dwindling. Sis, shouldn’t we also move out and go to a more expansive forest?" On the way back, she kept pondering where Xu Yi and Lu Ke had gone.
If it wasn’t somewhere far away, they should have returned to camp by now.
After all, everyone’s clothing was waterproof; traveling in the rain was still doable. Except at night, it wasn’t suitable for traversing the jungle.
They had left the camp near one o’clock, and since Xu Yi and Lu Ke hadn’t returned for so long, it indicated they were far from the camp, perhaps far away hunting.
Hundred points wasn’t easy to gather, and surely Xu Yi and Lu Ke found a place teeming with wild animals.
"You considered that too?" Lu Yao glanced at Wang Jin; she was already planning.
With Xu Yi and Lu Ke gone for a long time, they must have ventured into a far more distant jungle.
Staying here would eventually mean struggling to even secure three meals a day. So, they had to leave and hunt elsewhere.
Right now, Xu Yi and Lu Ke have already ventured out, so naturally, they had to follow.
Perhaps it wouldn’t take long for Xu Yi and Lu Ke to give up on that camp.
After all, if a camp is too far away, it loses its significance.
"Sis, I’m not an idiot, nor am I here just to pass the time; of course I’ve been considering these matters." Wang Jin cast an unhappy glance at Lu Yao, feeling underestimated by her.
"It’s still too early. Ten days; in ten days, we’ll go farther to take a look." Lu Yao set a timeline; they weren’t ready to venture out just yet.
Not only because Wang Jin’s special training hadn’t concluded, but also due to the limited power of their weapons.
