Chapter 1099: Chapter 1099: The Fake Princess

Upon seeing Jin Die pull out a dagger, Qin Yi felt a heart-stopping tension and couldn’t help but warn, "Be careful, don’t ruin my face."

"Should I go buy an eyebrow knife then?" Jin Die suggested.

"Forget it, it’s not suitable for you to show up alone. Come on, I trust you."

Jin Die gently swayed the dagger, Qin Yi’s entire body tensed, not daring to move an inch.

After a while, Jin Die sighed with relief too; grooming Qin Yi’s eyebrows was indeed a laborious task, and she was also on edge, fearing she might ruin them.

"All done."

Qin Yi took the bronze mirror he’d tossed aside and looked at it, his mouth involuntarily twitching a few times.

"How alike do I look now?" Qin Yi asked.

"Ninety percent."

"What about the remaining ten percent?"

"Voice, posture, temperament."

Next, Jin Die instructed Qin Yi on walking posture and imitating Yun Susu’s speech. Altering his voice wasn’t difficult for Qin Yi; the challenge was mimicking speech speed and tone. As a princess, Yun Susu had been trained in royal etiquette since childhood. Walking, standing, sitting, and even lying down had its rules.

After spending quite a long time on it, they finally nearly perfected it.

Qin Yi was exhausted.

"Now it’s very alike, if I didn’t know, even I couldn’t tell the difference."

Qin Yi smiled slightly with Yun Susu’s voice, "That’s the effect I want. Now, let’s head back to the Princess Mansion."

Jin Die didn’t know what Qin Yi would do next, but she absolutely trusted his wisdom, not to mention she had no choice but to trust him now since there was no one else reliable.

...

...

An hour later, the two returned to the Princess Mansion.

Though small, the mansion was the residence of the Third Princess, guarded by soldiers.

The soldiers at the gate saw the Third Princess and Jin Die approaching and were taken aback, quickly stepping forward and kneeling on one knee.

"Welcome back to the mansion, Third Princess."

Qin Yi said indifferently, "Stand up."

"Thank you, Princess."

Qin Yi and Jin Die proceeded inside, just about to enter the gate when Qin Yi halted his steps, not even turning his head, saying coldly, "From now on, no one leaves the mansion. Anyone who tries to force their way out will be executed without mercy."

The soldiers were stunned, watching the Third Princess.

Jin Die was anxious too; the Third Princess had always been gentle and would never say such a thing.

When hearing no response, Qin Yi turned to them and asked, "What, any questions?"

The soldiers shivered; the Third Princess’s gaze was terrifying, prompting them to quickly respond, "Yes, we heed your command."

Qin Yi snorted coldly and walked inside.

The soldiers looked at each other in disbelief.

"Did you notice the Third Princess’s gaze earlier? With just one look, it sent chills down my spine."

"I felt it too; the Third Princess seems like a different person."

"Honestly, it’s understandable. The Third Princess went to the Tianyue Empire, killed the Three Kings, naturally carrying the aura of slaughter."

Others nodded in agreement.

"Let’s not discuss further, follow the Third Princess’s orders."

On the way inside, Jin Die quietly told Qin Yi that his earlier behavior was completely unlike the Third Princess.

Qin Yi smiled, "Someone who went to the Tianyue Empire and killed the Three Kings, how could they return without a trace of hostility?"

Jin Die was taken aback, then realized it made sense.

"Greetings, Third Princess."

Throughout their journey, the guards and maids in the mansion saw Yun Susu and Jin Die and immediately bowed, but their expressions varied.

Qin Yi took note of their reactions.

"Third Princess, you’re back?"

An elderly, stout woman appeared with several maids, who bowed, but the woman merely nodded.

Qin Yi looked at her, "Why, don’t you want me back?"

The elderly woman was stunned momentarily, quickly responding, "I dare not."

"You have a lot of nerve, not bowing to the Princess and still addressing yourself as ’old body’?" Qin Yi scolded.

The woman looked at the Third Princess in shock.

"Third Princess, this old body has grown weak with age, unable to bow. I beg your understanding."

Earlier on the way back, Jin Die informed Qin Yi this woman was sent by the Royal Family, supposedly to care for the Third Princess, but in reality, she was a spy for the New Empress to monitor the Third Princess. Also, this old hag is far from passive, often picking on the Third Princess, making her mansion feel almost like the woman’s own domain.

The Third Princess, being gentle by nature, didn’t argue much. Unexpectedly, the woman became increasingly audacious, critiquing the Princess’s speech and actions, even redirecting the Princess’s meals for herself, selling off many items originally belonging to the mansion.

Perhaps influenced by current TV dramas, Qin Yi inherently disliked such old crones.

The woman looked at Qin Yi, speaking insidiously, "Third Princess, sneaking out of the mansion was utterly reckless. Do you realize your disappearance troubled all of us? If not for my plea, everyone here might have ended up in prison."

Qin Yi looked at her coolly, "What, does the Princess need to report her actions to you? You, as people of the Princess Mansion, should consider it your duty to endure hardships for the Princess, shouldn’t you?"

"We devote ourselves entirely to serving the Third Princess; are you not afraid of chilling everyone’s hearts by speaking this way?" The woman smirked.

Qin Yi laughed coldly, "Chilling everyone’s hearts? Hasn’t the Princess treated you well? If my actions have caused you any trouble, are your hearts chilled so easily? As servants, isn’t it your duty to endure such things?"

"You are the Princess, we are servants, whatever you say is correct. But..."

"There’s no ’but.’ You already said whatever the Princess says is correct, so why continue talking?" Qin Yi’s gaze turned cold as he suddenly stepped forward, grabbing the woman by the back of her head and shoving it to the ground.

"Bang!"

The woman had cultivation but was only at the Qi Refinement Realm, negligible. Being grabbed by Qin Yi, her face violently hit the ground, her nose shattering, forehead bloody, emitting a sharp scream.

The surrounding soldiers and maids were utterly dumbfounded.

Though the Third Princess’s cultivation was decent, she had never been violent before.

Qin Yi sneered, "If you’re too old and weak, you should do more physical activities. Can’t bend your waist? There, it’s bent now."

"Come here!" Qin Yi suddenly shouted harshly.

The nearby soldiers were startled, quickly kneeling on one knee.

"Throw this vile servant out of the mansion, never let her step in here again."

"Third Princess, you can’t do this; I’m under the Royal Family’s orders. You’re challenging the Empress!" The woman screamed ferociously.

"Bang!"

Qin Yi kicked her, knocking her unconscious.

The soldiers and maids shivered again in fear.

Qin Yi said coldly, "The entire Tianyue Empire wouldn’t underestimate the Princess, and who are you? Stop using the Empress to intimidate me. If she wants, she can come to find me."

Everyone’s heart trembled, recalling the Third Princess’s trip to the Tianyue Empire where she slew the Three Kings, no wonder she returned with a fierce aura and changed so much.

"Throw her out. Also, without the Princess’s command, no one leaves the mansion; violators will be executed without mercy." Qin Yi finished and coldly surveyed the surroundings, "Did everyone hear the Princess clearly?"

"Heard clearly."

The soldiers and maids promptly responded.
