Chapter 90: Chapter 90: Not Moved at All?

When you need money, you regret not having enough.

After Sue Woods said this, all she could think was, ’Damn, I wish I had more money.’

If she had money, she’d whip out a cool ten million right now, ’smack’ it onto Ben Lawson’s forehead, put her hands on her waist, and tell him, "Pigs don’t want to play, and I’m done monkeying around with you."

But the reality was that she was humble and scraping by, with no money and having to bow her head under someone else’s roof.

After Sue finished speaking, Ben sneered, "If you can’t analyze, can’t you find someone to help you analyze?"

Upon hearing this, Sue had a lightbulb moment, "Stella?"

Ben didn’t want to be too explicit, "You can find whoever you want, but by the latest tomorrow morning, you must give me an answer."

With that said, he hung up the phone, not waiting for Sue to respond.

Listening to the beep of the phone, Sue hit the bed twice in irritation.

What’s wrong with him?

Calling her up in the middle of the night to help analyze an acquisition project?

Even if she knew how, it’s not okay to think of her as someone to call for fun in the middle of the night.

Sue’s frustration built up with no outlet, and she picked up her phone to text Stella Grant: Are you awake?

Sue didn’t really expect a response from Stella when she sent that text.

At this hour, who else but a freak like Ben Lawson wouldn’t be asleep?

After sending the message, just as Sue was about to lie back and spread out in anger, she suddenly saw the chat interface with Stella showing the other person was typing.

Without thinking, Sue directly dialed a voice call over.

Stella picked up quickly, and from the tone, she wasn’t doing much better than Sue.

Both of them spoke in unison, "Why are you still awake?"

There was a brief silence over the phone.

Both of them again in unison, "Tonight I..."

A brief silence ensued again.

Finally, Stella laughed and said, "You go first,"

Sue also laughed, took a deep breath, and released a lot of her pent-up frustration, "Let me tell you, I was already asleep, but some freak called me in the middle of the night to analyze a project."

Stella teased, "Ray Woods?"

Apart from Ray, Stella really couldn’t think of anyone else Sue would call a freak.

Sue gritted her teeth, "Not my brother, someone even more freakish."

Stella couldn’t help but laugh, "Isn’t that more freakish than a freak?"

Sue was amused by Stella, but thinking about Ben Lawson’s face quickly cooled her down, "Right, do you have any thoughts on Shawn Bishop’s project?"

Stella asked, "Why are you suddenly asking about this?"

As far as she knew, Sue never had any interest in project matters.

Sue honestly said, "It’s not that I want to ask, it’s that weirdo Ben Lawson called me in the middle of the night, asking me to analyze whether Shawn Bishop’s unfinished project is worth acquiring."

Stella was puzzled, "Why did The Lawson Group suddenly think about acquiring a real estate project?"

Sue scoffed, "Don’t know, probably because they’re crazy."

Even if they weren’t crazy, they shouldn’t disturb others’ rest in the middle of the night.

Hearing what Sue said, Stella thought for a moment and asked, "What exactly did he say to you?"

Sue thought for a bit and repeated Ben’s words to Stella verbatim.

Upon hearing them, Stella paused for a few seconds and said, "Technically, I shouldn’t be telling you this, but what you just told me includes some information useful to me, so you can tell Mr. Lawson that the project can be acquired, but only if the price is lowered. I can’t say how much it should be lowered because the Sutton Group is also planning to acquire this project."

Sue said, "Telling him this won’t harm you, right?"

She often saw those business war dramas on TV, and sharing information before an acquisition was considered taboo.

Stella laughed, "No, the information I gave is ambiguous, so you just tell him the truth, that you asked me, and I extracted useful information from his words, and in return, I provided some useful insights, like an exchange of information."

All day long, Sue faced either models or celebrities, never actually experiencing real business battles, "Are you sure it won’t be a problem? I see those business dramas on TV..."

Sue’s limited vocabulary couldn’t describe the suspense.

Stella smiled, "TV business dramas: disregarding laws and being ruthless; real-life business battles: no regard for etiquette and shameless."

Sue was confused, "Huh?"

Stella said, "At the place I used to work, Omni, two bosses fought over a project by battling from a distance. The other boss even had their intern pour boiling water over the money tree in our company’s lobby."

Sue was speechless, "..."

By now, Sue couldn’t even describe her overwhelming shock; it completely shattered her worldview.

Stella anticipated her shock and laughed, "TV exaggerates; reality is just pure shamelessness."

After chatting a bit more about Shawn Bishop’s project, Sue asked Stella, "What about tonight? Why are you still up so late?"

The smile on Stella’s face froze, she frowned slightly and said, "Silas Sutton just came to my place."

Sue hesitated to ask directly, but her gossiping nature couldn’t resist, "Oh."

Stella said, "Don’t overthink it, he just came over for dinner."

The more Stella told Sue not to overthink it, the more Sue’s imagination ran wild.

Veridia is so big, full of restaurants—why would Silas need to go so far to bum a meal?

Is it about the food, or is it really about the person?

Stella knew Sue’s tendencies and didn’t want to mention Silas being beaten, so she talked about something else, "Silas wanted to find someone for a fake marriage and asked if I knew anyone suitable."

Sue suddenly grinned slyly, "Isn’t this straight out of a CEO novel? Just calling it a fake marriage but actually being a real couple."

Stella was speechless, "..."

Seeing Stella not respond, Sue asked again, "So did you agree?"

Stella replied, "What does it have to do with me? I’m in a relationship now. He merely asked if I knew anyone suitable, and I told him, no one around me is."

Now it was Sue’s turn to fall silent.

After about four or five seconds, Sue curiously asked Stella, "Not even a bit interested in Silas?"
